PS1 Dual shock, and don’t use analogs at all

With the JLF, you can always just break the connections physically and solder directly to the stick’s pcb.

I’m aware. They wouldn’t be using the 5 pin connector then, would they?

Even easier, they can remove the pcb and put in 4 standard microswitches directly, and wire it up like a Happ competition stick.

Yes. Some adapters will not like digital only sticks and some software won’t like the analog mode on with some adapters.

the LED for Analog: On is a standard +5v LED.

is there an other significant difference between sanwa switches and other manufacturers than the name? i guess these will do?

Sorry to ask again, but just to make sure…

If I’m making this for PS2 I shouldn’t use a PS2 controller? I’m just wondering why not?

And i should have an analog button with LED to turn it on and off?

Those would work fine.

I don’t know of any PS2 DS controllers that are easily hackable, for maximum compatability you really want a dual shock 1. and you don’t need the LED light, just the analog button somewhere so you can play PS3 games like Tekken DR with it if you wanted to.

Crap, I have a bunch of extra PS2 controllers. Blah…

Edit: Oh wow, yeah. I just took apart my first PS2 controller and now I see why. Blah, guess I gotta look for some PS1 controllers.

there any easy to hack ps2 contollers. ps1 dualshocks are hard to find

thanx

Need help with this PCB, just trying to find the solder points and the grounds on it. It’s the Mad Catz Dreamcast controller.

Thanks for the help on that. I’m still unclear on where the ground is though. Is it on the back of the PCB or what?

Ground is on contacts marked with red

So each solder point on there has an individual ground?

Does anyone have the soldering layout to a sf: ac controller for the ps2 i tried using the xbox layout as a reference but its not clear to me so can show me the layout of the ps2 version and where to solde cuz i trully am a noob to doing this.

isnt the action printed out on the pcb?
i dont know how it can’t be clear

no, there is only one ground, used for the directions and buttons. Pick one and you’re golden. See the other half of each circle he didn’t mark on? that’d be where you solder for the direction and button lines.

and dont ask which circle goes to what button. Its screenprinted right on the pcb.

Sorry again for posting a question that might already be asked on here but:

I’ve hacked a PS1 Analog H Series controller easily. Are DC and Xbox controllers just as easy?
