When there is a common ground, do you only have to solder 1 wire to any of the ground locations on the PCB?
Then make certain that the ground wire from that point is attached to the ground on each of the buttons/joystick, all daisychained?
Also, for the shoulderbuttons, do you have to remove the little button there and then solder into the holes left behind?
i got my hrap 3 working on my 360 but now when i play on ps3 its as if all the buttons are pressed any1 know where i fcked up and is it eacy to fix im about to give up and just buy another hrap 3 and keep the one i did just for the 360
hi guys, iāve attempted hacking an early version of the official xbox 360 wireless controller pcb, for my custom arcade stick. For some reason only the guide, back and start buttons work. None of the other buttons, including the joystick work. I donāt know what the problem is as all the joints seem solid and iāve connected all the points as in the guide. However, i have only soldered the one common ground point and connected all the other ground points via a connecter block. Please help guys, thanks
so, whats the best thing for me todo? shall i get the late version of the xbox 360 controller. Or i could mod my ps3 controller as i also have a ps3. Is the ps3 the best option and does the ps3 controller have common ground issueās?
That thurr is not considered a common ground pad, you can see all the different colors shown for the various grounds, any circled that are of the same color are common to eachother.
For example, Back(BA), Right(RI) and LeftClick(LC) are all cyan in color and are all common. They can be wired together to the same ground, but they must be seperate from the rest of other grounds.
No, that is not a common ground. Each blue circle is the signal point, and the color of the text indicates where the other wire from the button needs to run to. For example, RB, up and down share a common, left and LB share a common, X and A share a common, etc. Youāll need six different chains, going to only 2-3 buttons each, and this will not work with a JLF without cutting traces on the JLFās board.
Right, update. first i had only used 1 common ground for all buttons and the joystick. Doing this i only got guide, back and start working. Then i soldered a seperate common ground point for buttons A, B, X, Y, LB and RB and they are now working but the joystick, which is sharing a common ground point with guide, back and start buttons is not working, but they are. So i donāt know what it is. The wire i am using for my joystick is 30 awg kynar wire and the wire iām using for my buttons is 22 awg bell wire, which i brought from maplins, UK. I may just try and get hold of a late version 360 control pad tomorrow and see what happens with that.
