The Orlando Thread: We Have The Life Lead, So We're Going To Chill!

ggs to GoogleMyName…

Definitely :). I enjoyed watching your Dhalsim beatdowns with Guy.

Yo, good stuff with the EXP CON Game Room. Definitely looking forward to it. May do SSFIV as well if I train enough by then. Will there be some spare 360 sticks that we can use? I only have a PS3 stick for BBCS and not sure if I’ll be able to dualmod it by the time the tourney comes around.

I’m totally down for this. i wish I could say I was coming for sure for BB but sadly october is far away. But I will do my best to attend. If not, I’ll just drop out of college and become some kind of hermit.

skip work, skip family events, skip everything but this.

I’ll also, SKIP LIFE

anything going on this week?

Thursday is Nestor’s Fair Enough Game Night

Friday either Jebailey or I are hosting

Saturday is the Tampa tournament that starts at 1:00pm

Sunday is the Sabbath unless you play BlazBlue. Ian host on Sunday for BlazBlue sessions

Joe make it out to Tampa this saturday!

correction i host on Saturdays that there aren’t tourneys. I don’t host on sundays consistently.

Oh…

Carlos is free. Standing mp > Super? really?

Anybody else in Orlando get Dark Awake/Chaos Breaker for PSN? If not, I’ll have my brother bring it on his PS3 on Thursday.

I just confirmed a howl at the moon party for Friday. Be there or be sober for no reason!

Has anyone else here been messing around with Makoto in BBCS. I can’t seem to get the space parry loop down consistently. I almost always fail after 5 reps. Is anyone consistent with this yet.

No offense, Rico, but if you’re getting 5 reps of the space loop consistently (seriously, that’s not bad at all), there’s not really much point to asking that question.

From all I have read and seen of the space loop, there is absolutely no secret to it beyond execution (the only subtleties to it beyond character-specific hitboxes are whether you want to do the cancel motion as 98746 or 846…AFAIK the forward momentum on BCC makes the spacing take care of itself, as long as you get the parry cancel right), and again, if you’re getting 5 reps on a regular basis, all you need to do is grind past this current plateau. Asking somebody else how far THEY can get doesn’t seem like it’ll give you any useful information.

More importantly, how much meter do those 5 reps give you? I don’t think they’d give you quite enough for 50% but that’s got to be like 25% or so for the space loop alone. Just keep trying to go longer in the lab, and in the meantime, just practice getting 5 loops 100% and pinching that off with super/2D/Infinite Rush/whatever combo ender. And don’t forget to work on your footsies and your pressure/mixup, because that space loop isn’t going to set itself up.

EDIT: Holy fuck, SRK actually provides a tooltip for “AFAIK”? Freaky. Do they do the same thing for “gdlk”?

DOUBLE EDIT: No they don’t. smh

Yeah, I really need to stop working weekends.

Yo. Hit me up and get some games in. It’s been a while since I’ve smashed you!

Ok. I guess what I really wanted to ask how do I practice this combo, which in hindsight is a silly question. lol A little frustrated I guess pay no mind. To answer your meter question 5 reps gets you 33% meter. 6 reps will put you in the corner from half screen which I why I really want that one extra. I could combo into 5D to achieve the same thing but the timing becomes pretty strict. If i do a full level three I cant get it to link. I need to do a lite lvl3. Like barely lvl3 5D…back to the lab for more practice.

No bruno dude :frowning:

How much damage is this all doing in the meantime? I don’t know jack about Makoto but this is starting to sound a little bit ridiculous. Then again, this could be the difference between Ragna and Tsubaki depending on how much damage we’re talking.
