I can’t really qualify WHY (maybe my brother can), but I’m pretty sure the majority of serious BB players have the game for PS3 rather than 360. I think the choice of console for tourneys, however, would matter more to the casual game-room congoer than it would to the “real” BB players like John Martin, my brother Jeff, etc., who would probably have peripherals for both consoles in any case.
General rules for BBCS should be pretty straightforward. The only banned characters are Unlimited characters (overpowered boss versions of normal characters a la Guilty Gear Gold/Shadow characters). Everybody else, including Mu-12 and Makoto, is tourney legal.
On bare-bones tourney setups that don’t have anything unlocked except for Mu-12 and Makoto (via DLC), the only Unlimited characters unlocked should be Unlimited Makoto (comes free with purchase) and possibly Mu-12 as well (at least if you paid the $2 unlock, not sure if she unlocks with regular Mu for clearing Story Mode), so this shouldn’t be TOO much of a problem.
The only thing to watch out for with Unlimited characters is that you toggle them on the select screen by a button press (one of the triggers) rather than putting the cursor on the “Unlimited” icon, so people may select them by accident (or perhaps some scrubby jackass will try and be clever). The easy ways to tell if somebody has picked an Unlimited character are (a) the purple “UNLIMITED MODE” text lights up on the character select screen (underneath the character portraits), and (b) in-game, the Unlimited character’s portrait is glowing purple.
EDIT: One last thing – by the time EXPCon hits there will probably be at least one additional DLC character to worry about having unlocked (Valkenhayn), possibly two if Platinum is released by that point in October. After that, don’t worry, there should almost certainly be no further DLC characters for BBCS.
Why do they have to be annoying with DLC characters when the game just came out. I may just end up banning the newest Character since I know we’re not gonna pay for character to be unlocked unless people bring their PS3 Setups with everyone paid for and unlocked. I’ve decided to put it on PS3 and will need a couple more Ps3’s to help out when the time comes.

If the DLCs really start to pose a problem, try having someone from the community input their PSN info to be able to download the characters from the seperate account. Then everyone wins…Or split the DLCs, it would need a little bit of pre planning and organizing who will have what, and what comes from where etc. But that shouldn’t take too much time as long as we know who’s willing to share that info, and/or who has the DLCs and such…
That’s just my 10 cents on the situation…and like all other tournaments, I can’t make it to this one as well.

You’re making it sound all Wrong. It’s a huge convention as well man. Tons of Panels, Events, Pool Party, and all sorts of stuff are included with the convention Pass. If you want to just come for Saturday/weekend just to play, then it’s 20+10 which is the same as CEO. Don’t be such a Jew. Plus the room is almost as big as CEO and the AC WILL WORK. And we’re looking at 40+ Setups already without any outside help.
If your using an X-Box set the cord to HD-Mode.
I’ll bring a console with the characters unlocked. Peeps who want to play makoto and mu-12 can just play on that system. Not a big deal. Actually if you want I can run the tournament for you so that way you don’t really have to worry.

I’m doing it on PS3. Trust me guys this could be the home of something great(We’re working on CEO together to be at a nice hotel and he evenatully wants to move the con to Orlando). EXP Con check out the website and all the guests they’re having at the convention.

I dunno maybe imma salty broke old man but I kinda agree with Ian, these 30 tourneys are getting fucking ridiculous. Every tourney that pops up is the same price as EVO. What part of the game is that? But if its a con I guess its understandable I myself prolly wont go cause the price is steep if I only wanna go to the tourney not the convention. but we’ll see…

im fairly certain anyone in the greater orlando area will have all DLC characters strictly because we want to play with them(pause) lol.
It’s settled then, BBCS being a success is the least of my worries at this Event.
And I know it’s a bit pricey, but AFO Itself was 35 bucks just for Saturday. This is a whole weekend thing if you wanna come out. Megacon charges like 30 just for a day and all those tourneys are ASS and always run on like one TV.
This is gonna be the first REAL Gaming Room/Event mixed with a CON and you know It’ll be run right since it’s Me.
Got some real good games in at AFO though, but it was a pretty damn steep cost to do so. I really do want to jump in the scene sometime and play.

Makes sense and works. The GameKnights Lan center that was over here in Orange City was 10 dollars per day… so its actually cheaper than most arcade/lan center costs.
Is it the same price as Evo? Well at least its local.
I like the support that is going behind BBCS… I will do what I can to reinforce the scene between Lake Mary and Deltona. I would love for the “other big game” to be Tekken but I think that community has already worked itself out. SSF4 and BBCS are two games that can go hand-in-hand for the 2D fighting fans…
I’m looking forward to seeing how big the BB scene is at this event. 
Also looking forward to my top 4 placing in SSF4. 
CEO is sounding less like a 1 time big deal tournament… and more like an OVGA that might actually work and kick-ass.
