Lol, I think it’s less about stuff being broke than being fine with it. Some can take it, some can’t. Different tolerance to different bullshit. From a business standpoint though, all this broke stuff is bad since it turns people off from the game. It’s likely to be toned down later on.
However, what I disagree with in the article is that all this is somehow fine because there’s going to be a counter-strategy. No, just… no. That’s not a 100% guarantee. Vanilla Blazblue was barely half as broke as the stuff going on right now (in fact, only top 3 were broke), but it was still abandoned competitively a couple months down the line.
The only thing MvC3 has going for it is that it’s fun (note: broke does not always = fun, despite popular SRK sentiment). Whether the bullshit gets in the way of the game being fun is what’s to be seen, not whether there’s a counter-strat.
Yeah, Blazblue’s really is awesome. It’s just got a bad knock because it’s a new franchise and capcom ftg players refuse to touch anything with anime overtones (even though street fighter is anime-esque from the beginning), but this is the mvc3 board. The mods kind of decide when and where they want to ban people for the tiniest little things, it seems.
I personally don’t have much problems with Sentinel at all like I used to. Its the beam spam shit from Iron Man, Magneto, Doom and the ilk that annoys me. Then again, thats what super jump is for.

His zoning loses to every good zoning character, flight sucks in this game, damage output is irrelevent because he has so much trouble landing hits, His health is MORE than made up for by his huge size, his normals that aren’t spit/armor suck. His assist is good, I’ll give you that.
Here, let me explain this. MvC2 Sentinel is better than MvC3 Sentinel. Magneto and Storm can fight and beat Sentinel in MvC2. Magneto and Storm are now the standard for character design.
Getting hit by Sentinel’s slow ass is not a “slight” mistake. A slight mistake is blocking the wrong way once against a Magneto throwing out a dozen highs and lows in a few seconds. Getting hit by Sentinel, who has no mix-up to speak of, requires you to make a big mistake.
WHY would they benefit the game? You haven’t given any sort of argument about Sentinel. You’ve just listed stuff, with no context, and said “broken”. Here, I can do it too:
Dante–Great assist, great normals, awesome rushdown, impossible to zone out, decent keep-away, easy combos. Nerf Dante.
Wesker–High health, high damage, high mobility, builds bar. Nerf Wesker.
Doom–Godlike assist, great zoning, great close range ability, above average health. Nerf Doom.

In Street Fighter, the only disadvantage you suffer for having low health is having low health. In Marvel, 3v1 is basically checkmate because having no assists is such a handicap. So, it makes sense to have a comeback mechanic. Otherwise, why have the third character at all?
Does it have to be x-factor? Of course not, but x-factor is a mechanic that can be used in many ways, all of them effective, none of them free. That sounds like a pretty good mechanic to me. Of course, there’s always a case for tweaking the numbers, but I don’t feel there’s any compelling body of evidence one way or another on that.

I don’t feel like this is reasonable. Iron Man’s bnb requires maybe slightly more effort, but is drastically easier to land and does slightly more damage.
That he’s obviously not king of the game so maybe the whiners should start planting a date on when they’re going to get over it and realize the tiers aren’t going to be balanced around how well they do on XBL/PSN but rather the tournament scene which so far shows that he isn’t top dog.
