I think this game succeeds at trying to be more accessible with people that aren’t very good a fighting games. In all honesty, I really enjoy what some people call “scrubby tactics” in this game(Sentinel super armor, x factor level 3 chip damage, etc…). They really give the noobie in this game the fighting chance they may need to beat some of the mid level players. Sure the noobs may be using these tactics at first and having high success with them, but all you need to do is put the time in and learn how to counter it and eventually they will have to learn new strategies in order to keep up with the competitive gameplay.
Am I the only one that doesn’t miss the learning curve on the fighting games before? I have friends who played MvC2 on the Xbox live Arcade for the first time and were turned off within a week. Those same people are now getting enjoyment out of MvC3 because of its accessibility. I can now actually have close matches with friends that would get dominated by me in MvC2 or even just SSF4.
I also think that it is much too early to call something broken in this game when it has only been out for a week, that is just preposterous.
Every player is basically picking up tools from a box. It’s not the players fault if there are broken tools. Players take absolute no responsibility on how the game could be played. With helping beginners with these advantages, just imagine a non beginner using these advantages on beginners, that’s how I see turtles or formula players and in the end it changes the entire game itself to something completely different.
Regardless, these tools, game play, everything is pointless to more then those who care. In the end we just all like fighting.
Or rather no one has a good sent, or got outplayed, or a number of other things? Doesn’t change what sent is and what he has. As everyone likes to think, the game is evolving by the day. Its naive to think that sent is going to not be part of the evolution. And none of this means anything since the discussion is that Sent is OP. Not unbeatable, not broken, just op. He’s vanilla sagat, sagat was beatable, but if you’re gonna try and deny he wasn’t op in regards to the rest of the cast then you’re lying to yourself.
I just wonder how many people have actually even fought a good sent, ie not online, its not a fun experience when all your work is negated by a well placed fryingpan into nonsense.
Wait, why does it have to a problem of the Sent player being bad or outplayed? Is it because it goes against your belief Sent is too strong? How come Sent can’t lose because he’s balanced and he isn’t anymore busted than the next character?
Sent’s frying pan is an instant overhead or has armor?
And Sagat wasn’t OP, the characters he beat were underpowered and lost to other fireball characters as well. You make it sound like characters were 5-5 or beating everyone but Sagat.
As I said, could be a number of things, but its not much of an argument to say sent isn’t op cus of week 3 results, or is it week 2? Ya he’s not broken but he’s overly stupid which is what bothers people, myself included. Sagat was op relative to majority of the cast in sf4. You can’t cherry pick 1 or 2 characters and say see look, they beat sagat he’s not op. 1 frying pan from sent costs you a character, that’s not very fun to fight against. It’s simply a greivance. The OP is just a stupid way to approach peoples problems with the game. This kind of topic wasn’t needed for sf4 and it sure as hell isn’t needed now.
because BBCS was on arcades and no one wanted to play an outdated game
indeed
its not made by capcom, so its garbage :looney:
because it divides the community, and let the whiners believe that they have the reason because the game allows them to turn off the option that they think is op or whatever
its in the game, even if we like it or not, we need to learn to deal with it, its part of the tools and rules that the developers want us to use, they decided that the game need it
im more than sure that even with all the whine, they wouldnt remove x factor
If the whiners vacate the community’s divided anyway. Why not let them eat cake? I rather not have some bloke piss and moan that I beat him because of of a well placed XFC and rub that excuse around.
And I don’t think appeasing these guys is a bad thing. Let them have their own sub-group, and the main group is purified. I’ve had this argument before and I’ve pointed out *many *other games allow extensive options to the betterment of the community while an official setting is *still *the most played.
Look at the shit-storm over XF on these boards. If there was an option to turn it off it wouldn’t be an issue. You rather have a bitch-fest fro fear of a ‘divided community’? Screw that, let them eat cake so we can have XF without salty losers giving us excuses.
Enabling the scrub mentality isn’t productive. Instead of solving problems they can just turn it off, no reason to learn anything if you can just disable whatever is giving you trouble. Learning and evolution becomes slowed. It’s better for the dead weight to drop than linger and have the opportunity to spread their scrubery.
I love how every time I come to this site, the first thing that I see is that banner on the top that reads “The only problem with MVC3… is you.” And then the banner automatically swaps to a combo video displaying several setups for Akuma’s Infinite, and then a strategy guide link where the image is Sentinel doing his crouching H.
Anyway thanks for one of the most ridiculous FG community memes so far. The real problem with mvc3 is everyone else’s fault… obviously. My first favorite is still “MVC 3 : A Game for the Ages.” Give me a fucking break.
Watching that WNF stream and seeing how floe and justin and etc plays convinces me that there is no need for XF to be so powerful for purposes of a comeback mechanic. In a year or less when more people start playing like that and really getting good XF is going to be kind of unnecessary. Should have been just LV1 no matter what, imo.
I miss going to SRK to read new information and try to get better rather than attempt to sift through all this rubbish terribad scrubs spew out for any potential gems of information
