mickey d, ricky’s vega is insanely good because he’s fucking cheap and doesn’t get hit by any pokes. He’s better than most top japanese players. But only because vega is so damn cheap.
Terry ranks low on the mid-tier because of his lack of combos without meter. When he has meter, he has some nice combos in all grooves (CCs, combos juggling after Buster Wolf, etc.), but before he gets meter, it’s a struggle for him. His ground game is better than most (that c.roundhouse can be annoying, ala Kim’s c.roundhouse from CvS1 - see the Chen vs. Valle match from back in the day), so he’s still very usable, but he’s not as good as a lot of others in the cast.
And yes, his lack of a legit crossup sucks. I don’t know why they took it away from him in this game…
the latest 50 or so japanese vids i’ve watched (ones that were linked from gfb) doesn’t feature any a-sakura… has she gone down in ranks or something?
A-Sak is boring and everyone already knows how to play as her and against her. You see a lot more variety now that there are no major tournaments for the game: Honda, Vega (claw), Gief, Yama (okay, the last two are only me… but still 
)

So has the tiers remained the same? Has anybody moved up or is everything how it was before evo? I’d figure Vega maybe moved up because down where i live a good vega player gives us trouble because we quite frankly forgot how to fight Vega.

It’s your moment to practice your psychic ability with jab DPs…molest Vega whenever you knock him down (good luck)…if your opponent knows how to RC the rolling attack, then I’m not so sure what to say. You would have to make him lose his charge via crossup of some kind, but then he could vary it with the flip kick…ehehe…If I could do that then my Vega would be even more cheap…still, you can test out his reversal skills by doing meaty moves on his wakeup.
From what ure seeing, is it safe to assume that the game will re-surface in the major tournaments however?
Or has CFE completely taken its place and made it a fading memory?

eagle is better than dhalsim. i don’t care how good iyo’s dhalsim is and how many tricks and gimmicks he has, dhalsim does no real damage and gets eaten ALIVE by most of the top tier.
everybody play K-kyo/rock/hibiki because otaku is the dopest player of all time.
anybody notice that eagle kills A-Bison? roll cancel scissorkick is the only good tool. and thats pretty hard. he ducks st. mp and bison’s cr.mk gets outranged by eagle’s cr.mk. Bison is stuck with dash in jab, activate, throw, jump games. OTK is not the dopest. theres 1 ragtag american player from philly thats the best. and his name is MR. RANDOM!!
yessir, all the way back on page 2 i said something very similar…
- vs A-Bison, RC lariat jump ins, standing fierce periodically from long ranged, or just continually walk up and press crouching mk. bison can’t do much in this matchup. NEVER jump in, because you already own the ground game and bison’s AA options are too good.
i need to test out if bison can reversal eagle’s standing fierce with forward or roundhouse scissors and catch eagle into CC, then the match boils down completely to crouching mk. i’ll post later.
but fuck it, why listen to something contrary to popular opinion from 2 solid players? why try to learn a different character to counter other characters? just x-copy everybody, it’s easier that way.
and LZJ, otaku’s K-nakoruru is just too dope for words, so he wins.
yeah eagle’s st FP is the same as hibiki’s jab slash so bison can punish it. but who needs st FP when cr RH reaches farther and is only a little slower. nobody can react to cr RH before it connects unless they anticipate it. you’ve never seen bryheem OCV ino have you?
me and lay asked bas and otaku who they thought the top tiers were in cvs2 at TX showdown. they BOTH responded with a resounding #1- A-blanka. they agreed on K-cammy as #2 after a second or two. i asked them about C-sagat, and they kinda shrugged their shoulders and bas said he was like 7th.
and as i’m watching buktooth play, he leans over and says N-iori is the best character in the game.
