The third hit of cr l m m chain is minus 3. So its ok in strings. Stand lplp chain is like +7 or something insane. Ogres pressure game is absolutely bonkers. Stand lp, chain lplp, stand lk, low mk dash cancel, low hk dash cancel, low lk stand hp frame trap, lp mpmp chain is minus 1 so you can get them with a dp afterwards because theyl try to punish…if they catch on stand lk again. Qcb lk is rrrriiiduiculous as a meaty in the corner because it has infinity active frames. You can get the usual st mp st hk owl hunt after or whatever. It’s also safe if done deep meaty enough. Don’t forget to combo into cr mk owl hunt or similar after you hit them with ancient power when theire cornered.
Max easy combo I’ve been doing for ogre without meter is jump hp, HP, owl hunt, st m, hk, owlhunt, indigo punch. The indigo punbch is difficult to connect with sometimes. It hits weirdly late and sets up more meaty pressure.
Was just going to comment on this… Ogre can be thrown outta everything it seems… I got thrown outta my qcf+3 on wakeup, and as a “get off me” move when he jumped in with the body splash…
Knocked down? while doing owls hunt?
No, when Ogre is knocked down and you’re able to quick recover, you can press kick as you quick recover and Owl’s Hunt comes out. Think of it like Cody’s Bad Spray in SF4.
I’m not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but if Ogre’s st.HP hits on a ground counter, it will cause a crumple state on the enemy.
This is HUGE for OMGre’s damage potential, you can utilize Kazuya’s Re-Stand glitch with cl.HK and st.MP. Will do more research when I get back.
Anyone find any safe-jump set ups yet?

I seem to have trouble hit confirming into an Owl’s hunt that I can link Hunting Hawk into. I try to remain safe with other specials in it, but the damage potential is so damn tempting. Any good ways?

On a related note, counter st.hp on a crouching opponent won’t crumple.
How do you dash cancel? There a combo I saw where Ogre does Cr.Hk and dash up to close standing HK but I can’t get the combo. I’m thinking he’s dashing canceling or something?

What they are doing is canceling into Ogre’s qcf+P and holding P and then dashing cause you can dash cancel certain with the characters. Ogre’s being his qcf+P move.

I do dash dash HP ancient power on newer players a lot, they get hit all day long
And stop jumping at ogre, please. People should start sqfejumping him soon since anciejt power is 11 frame start up, but we got rolls and stuff so a char with a dp like this is 100x better than a similar 11 frame dp would be in Sf4
Still noone blocking low mk cancelled into owlhunt or infinite kicks
Easiest way to make a comeback is to get them to block a jab and then do infinite kicks cancelled into cross art Lolll
I use Vega with Ogre. They surprisingly work well together.
Ogre has amazing coming-in combos. That’s why.
Can you give some examples, i only recently put ogre as my second, which means i’m still working on tag in combos for him, i pretty much only have hunting hawk (2 hits) > st.hk xx waning moon HP/cross art/super art.
I know that these might not be the best ones, but they are pretty solid :
- Tag, uf+lk x uf+mk, cl.hk x qcb + hp (meterless)
- Tag, uf+lk x uf+mk, cl.hk x dp + lk, Switch Cancel, 2nd Character Combo (1 bar)
- Tag, uf+lk x uf+mk, cl.hk x dp + lk, Switch Cancel, 2nd Character Combo, Switch Cancel, uf+lk x uf+mk, cl.hk x qcb + hp - (2 bars)
I wouldn’t waste meter on super/cross art cancels, unless you know that it will kill the opponent. You can get more damage out of combos with switch cancels instead of super/cross art.
