both 360 and ps3 are HEAVILY laggy. I’m seriously debating giving up on online, unless I play with friends in a 4 player battle. Some 1v1 is pretty good, but overall the netcode in this game is atrocious. If you have a little bit of lag, you can’t properly reversal strikes or grapples, and then its just ggpo for you, sadly :frowning:

You were probably playing a kid. It’s a WWE game afterall. I ran into 13-16 year olds all the time on WWE games and they all rage and bitch when they lose. They cannot be reasoned with. Just kicked their ass so bad they’ll swear off playing it online

I was getting sick of the ragequitters so I made a CAW based on my first person shooter character w/the spear which I tell my friends is called “RTSD”.

I’ve been getting all kinds of sick wins lately online with my CAW (Kane + Spear). I just need to find that one perfect juggler with more options. The spear comes from out of no where!

definitely working on it. been pretty busy today. had physical therapy and doing date night w the gf tonight. only had a chance to play briefly around lunch. but it WILL be up before I go to sleep tonight.

This game is unplayable online. There are too many children rage quitting mid-match too.

I was just in a few random Triple Threat/Tornado elims, people would disconnect when they get ganged up. I’m staying offline for this one unless I’m playing with people I know.

The netcode isn’t good, you can feel the lag off the bat.

really sucks that the lag detracts so much from the online experience :frowning: Everyone I’ve played it with offline loves it though. I just wish there was a bigger community around where I live.

Hey man, fun games. There was like a 4 frame delay though, but enjoyable none the less. Your Ricky’s range is insane :D.

My biggest gripe about the online (besides the lag obviously) is that it kicks you out and you ahve to create a new match to re-invite everyone in the room again.

Would be interested in trying out Tornado Tag against people to see how awesome we can make the game.

Also, I had never really fought Hogan online (I’ve fought one Undertaker, a Kofi, and an Ultimate Warrior) so I was unaware of his invulnerability.

Wish someone else who wasn’t a mark and wasn’t new would play me though. I have no problem teaching new people but I would like to win the belt at EVO too :D.

I think with THQ, they will release a patch for button config, it just seems like a real easy thing to Hot key L2 or R1 to change grapples and press select to taunt.

Don’t scratch your head as to why us wrestling peoples are getting hype about the game.

It’s actually much harder than you’d expect. Main reason I can say is because of the reversal icons being L1/R1 (LT/RT).

Quick guide to things that fighting game people may not know about in WWE All-Stars

It?s more of an arcade wrestler than fighting game but has some fighting game mechanics.

Striking system
There are two strike buttons.
Quick Strike-QS
Heavy Strike-HS

Every character has 3 variations of QS and HS which are determined by direction. Towards, Neutral, Away from the opponent. So, there are a total of 6 different attacks you can initiate with.

Grapple system
There are two grapple buttons.
Quick Grapple-QG
Heavy Grapple-HG

Depending on what class you pick determines if your character has variations on their Grapples. (Towards,Away)

You can do the following things after a grapple:

QS,HS,QG,HG for rasslin? moves.

Flick the right analog stick (RS) from
QG for a Rear waistlock grapple.
HG for a Rear Headlock grapple.
*You can move your opponent around while in a Rear Headlock.

Pressing Run performs an Irish Whip.
From QG, Run for Light Irish Whip.
HG for Heavy Irish Whip.

Run
Requires super bar to run.
You can do moves off a run.
There?s also a dash for some characters by double tapping foward.

Supers
Builds as you pull off moves.
Depending on what class you are could determine how much meter you build off of certain moves (untested).
There are grapple and strike supers.
You can stack 3 of them.
Each character has 4.
How to accomplish them:
QSQG/HSHG,
Away+QSQG/HSHG,
Running QSQG/HSHG,
In the corner QSQG/HSHG,
Off the top rope QSQG/HSHG.
OTG QSQG/HSHG, So on, experiment to see what characters have what.
Unblockable but able to counter.

Finisher
You gain bar by pulling off moves including supers.
Everyone has one finisher.
There are grapple and strike finisher.
Unblockable but able to counter.

How to perform a instant finisher
Your opponent must be in blinking red health and on the ground in a blinking grapple state. stand over them as close as you can and press finisher. Your opponent will be in a dizzy state and unable to avoid the finisher.

Reversal/Counter/Block System Theory or what I know so far?

There are two buttons that act as the counter/reversal/block

Strike Counter button
Block-Hold
Counter Strikes by timing
Counter Super/Finisher Strikes by timing (really well).
Also the reversal button.

Grapple Counter button
Counters initial grapples by timing.
Counter Super/finisher grapples by timing (really well).

Reversals
Done when the little button pops up under your character.
Grapples reversals can be re-countered enabling to finish off your move.
Strike reversals go on until someone messes up.
DO NOT MASH THE REVERSAL BUTTON. If you do you?ll be locked out from doing a reversal.

Reversal Block
You can shorten the amount of time your opponent has to reversal by pressing the reversal button when their reversal window opens. The reversal button image will be canceled out when done succesfully.

Superior counter
Some characters (Sgt Slaughter) have a superior counter.
Pros- harder for your opponent to reversal your reversal.
Cons- If your opponent does reversal. you are left in a stunned state afterwards.

Combo system
There a very few actual fighting game combos and most of the button combos are series of moves that you can chain together. Usually, after a couple of hits you?ll be able to block the rest of the series and counter.

Juggle
Most characters have a way to bounce you into the air. you can usually follow it up with QS,QS,QG for most characters. If your in a tag team match you can probably set up juggle infinites quite easily.

Mashing Buttons
Only use QS,HS,QG,HG and the left analog stick for mashing, everything else doesn?t contribute to mashing.

Random tidbits and strategies
-If your going to get super?ed/finisher?ed and are close to the ropes, get out of the ring for a quick escape.
-Go for a heavy grab slighting away and behind an opponent as they are getting up.
-You can hit someone with two weapons shots without getting disqualified. There?s also some weird timing and your?re able to get off 4 chair shots sometimes.

Theory infinites

In the corner:
Boot Loop With Andre/Big Show
While next to an invisible wall (cage match or outside the ropes)
OTG HS to pop your opp in the air when they are in a knockdown state (blinking on the floor), HS for another bounce, HS as they are coming down to put them in a spinning knockdown, and time your next HS so that you hit them just as they are able to be hit again and repeat.
In other words OTG HS,HS,HS. The difficulty is not in so much the timing but repositioning yourself so that your always hitting them into the corner.

If you want to set up the loop in a normal match your going to have to get then in the corner outside of the ring. To set them easier you can launch them in the air and HS which will cause the opponent to fly hilariously through the air in the direction you kicked them in (in this case kick them towards a corner). Run over and lock them down until you can knock them down for the loop or go for a move series that ends with an juggle state (QS,QS,HS or QS,QS,HG works for Andre).

All-Stars is taking over WNF stream. The stream chat for it is hilarious. Dudes blowing up seeing footsies, BnBs, juggles and wallbounces in a wrestling game. Fuck Marvel 3, this game gets more hype.

To be fair, anything that looks fun that’s a departure from the norm could probably get hype. The fact that it’s a WWE game helps though.

Three bugs Rock and I found tonight:

  1. If HBK does a n.HS and begins priming his Finisher, the opponent will get up too fast and if the opponent interrupts HBK then the camera gets locked in “cinematic view” for a min or two.

  2. If you do a “off the top of the cage” attack onto an opponent that is just about to start the mini-game to exit the cage, you’ll knock them down and be outside the cage. The opponent can then follow up by doing an aerial attack off the top of the cage to be on the outside with you at the same time. You can re-enter the cage by just sliding under the ring ropes like normal.

  3. If I add the red/white/blue wriststraps to my HBK custom character and Color 1/2 are set to black, his upper torso is invisible when in a match.
