The OFFICIAL WWE All-Stars Thread: Strats. Chat. Player Lists

The game’s been out long enough, so I figure it’s time we got out a tier list since no one else seems to want to. Props to SKRON for letting me bounce ideas off of him.

*Top: Savage, Sheamus, Kane, Show, Bret (Savage has an amazing movelist, as does Sheamus, Kane has great combos for a Big Man, Show is just dominant, and Bret has high-damage grapples + b+WS that can lead to easy grabs) *

Upper-Mid: Taker, Orton, Swagger, Miz, Eddie (Taker has great damage and very few weaknesses, Orton is a brawler that can get into PIN, Swagger has a near-infinite, and Miz has all kinds of sneaky ways he can get a win like multiple pins and a signature that allows him to prime his finisher for free, and Eddie is an acrobat that has Grappler combos that deal really good damage)

Middle: Drew, HBK, HHH, CM Punk, Hogan, Roberts, Perfect, Piper, Andre (D-Mac has no real weaknesses but doesn’t deal much damage, so he goes here. Everyone else kind of gels together with their individual ups and downs)

Lower-Mid: Morrison, Edge,Cena, Stone Cold, Rock, Rey, Slaughter (Morrison has bad combos and needs meter to do anything, but his finisher is really good. Edge is a watered-down Bret, Cena deals great damage but has very few ways to safely get in, Stone Cold is a situational player, Rock doesn’t have anything particularly good compared to the other brawlers and everything he can do, other guys do better. Rey is the Dhalsim of the game, and Slaughter is just there)

Bottom: Warrior, Ricky, Kofi, Snuka (Warrior is a brawler who needs to go the top rope for two signatures, yet has no effective way to get up there. Ricky barely deals any damage, Snuka is a high-flyer with a lot of grounded specials that aren’t that good, and Kofi is just…Kofi)

There will not be a DLC tier list because most of them are broken in their own special way.

How are the DLC characters broken?

Lessee, R-Truth has a move that almost never misses EVER, no matter where you are on the screen, and it takes no meter. Big Bossman has an unbreakable infinite that makes Steve’s 5.0 infinite look high-execution. Animal is just outright dominant, Hawk is a brawler with Brawler damage and Grappler chains. Stuff like that, pretty much.

I had this discussion already, and I think it’s just less headaches for everyone involved in DLC characters were ignored for now.

Where’s Andre?

Andre is middle: not as flexible as Kane or as dominant as Show, but as a Big Man he’s still pretty good with his ability to push people off of him and of course his Charge Punch shenanigans. Thanks for spotting me there.

Ah cool.

The actual mains I wanted were Cody, who I can tell is broke in multiple ways, and Jericho. Is Jericho actually as broken as most DLC are though?

Its a shame cause I think the DLC design wise were some of the most unique.

I haven’t played as Y2J in a while, but I do remember noticing how much more “normal” he seemed in comparison to the rest of the DLC guys. I could probably place him in a tier with the regular cast, but I just avoided it because, as I said, the DLC for the most part are too much of a mess to even consider if you wanted to run a side tourney.

It’s a shame though, given how this is the game with $1 dlc characters.

Yeah I hear that. I’m hoping with SFxT having All-Stars-esque numbers of DLC characters, they follow a similar pricing range ($2 a character would be my hope).
