I downloaded Sonic ASRT last night and spent about 4 hours leading up to now playing it. Impressive game!

The wii to wii U transfer was terrible but I got it done. They should have come up with something way better. I’m sure their help line department is filled constantly with calls about that bullshit.
I was wondering how good the pad would be, but NSMB U proved to me this weekend that it is an incredible device with all kinds of potential. Really had fun over the weekend with just a friend and I with it. I can’t imagine having full five players going at it.
I think that’s probably the main reason I’m procrastinating so much on moving my stuff from the Wii lol.
If I do ever get a Wii U I’m not transferring my stuff; I’m just going to start fresh.
That’s what I did. I can’t see myself going back and playing Wii games any time soon. And if I did, I’d start from the beginning anyway. I think I only had like two digital games, too.
So does the Wii U have an actual matchmaking service, or are they still doing that friendcode bullshit?
They are done with friendcodes, just add someone’s name like any other console and you are good to go!
Whats the backwards compatibility like on the Wii U?
You need to dl the day 1 patch to get access to it and it’s 100% backwards compatible…to the point that they have Wii as it’s own seperate mode in the console. Wii Mode gives you access to all the old stuff, old wii ware, the old VC games that the Wii had available to get too. Pretty much the only thing Wii mode doesn’t have is the ability to play GC games. And as of right now there’s no way to play the old VC games on the pad but it was mentioned before that Nintendo notices that people want to be able to do that so we don’t know what will happen in the future.

so wait…you can’t play those games on the pad that the system comes with? the only controller that the system comes with isn’t able to play games in the wii store? tell me i’m wrong…

Does the GamePad work with any of the Wii games? I haven’t tried that yet.

They should use The Last Story cuz that game looks like shit on my HDTV. Bleeding and blurring everywhere.
The touchpad controller doesn’t work with old wii emulation mode. I loaded up Secret of Mana and The Last Story to test for sure myself. The gamepad actually turned itself off when I went to wii “mode”.
Speaking of wii emulation, it seems off to me with The Last Story. I can see a green line at the very bottom of my hdtv as well as on the sides slightly. The left and right hand sides aren’t touching the edges of my tv so you see two black bars.
I don’t think the emulation is perfect, at least not with this game.
Wow I just looked through all the launch titles and there’s NOTHING. I’m astonished at how much NOTHING they have. There’s a substantial dearth of good games for quite a while into the future. How can anyone justify throwing $350 to the wind like that? I really honestly gave it a look and nearly everything is shovelware garbage or glorified ports of old games. Hope they announce more games soon because what they have right now is abysmal.
Now that I want to buy this shitty console they’re going to make it even harder for me by giving me nothing good to find? Fuck them.
