I played Ninja Gaiden and ZombiU last weekend at a mall and was surprised at the latter. I’m considering of buying a WiiU mainly for Monster Hunter Ultimate but I live on Canaduh and I don’t know if the online features will be available. Any help?
If not trolling:
Judging by the way you defend Ninja Theory and DmC, I’m surprised you would take such a stance. I don’t disagree… I bought the original NSMB on DS awhile back, and while it wasn’t the worst platformer I’ve ever played, it certainly wasn’t up to the standards of the classic Mario platformers.
It just shows you why those games were so amazing and why Nintendo had been so gun shy on doing another Mario platformer for so long.
Whoaaaaa…let’s slowdown(ha…irony) here a bit lol.
When I said ‘a game to give to the crowd that only enjoyed 2D Mario Games back in the day’ I was talking about the people who remember playing those games and refuse to touch the 3D ones and/or have stopped playing games for a time. Some of these people are some of the same ones who come into my store every week and ask me is there a mario game on 360 or PS3 and I have to tell them no and why that is. I’m not even talking necessarily just about the super hardcore old school fans who will speed run through SMB3 within 30 minutes.
Indie scene is great but average schmo isn’t going to be looking in the indie scene for an accessible platformer unfortunately. They are going to roll into Wal-Mart, Target, GS, etc and they’re going to look at the wall of games. And within the retail space there aren’t many 2D accessible platformers.
The New series is just fun easy to go after title to play…Most of the ‘innovation’ and excellent platforming has gone into the 3D mario titles. Those are the games now that when they get released it’s a big deal. I’m pretty sure most of the more core Mario fan base are playing those games instead while the money that comes from people who buy the New series can go towards making better 3D mario games. It’s simple business really…why completely exclude people who just want something simple to pick up and play? That’d be a dumb as hell business decision for them to not ‘make dat paypuh’. This is one of the reasons why I said earlier if you see those games as nothing but a cash grab then you’re not going to enjoy it.
New Super Mario Bro Series (1,2, wii, and i haven’t played u version) is not good at all imo. I rented them, never bought them. On the otherhand, I enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy 1 and Super Paper Mario Wii.
Real talk, I only ever got the bad ending in Pikmin 1. I couldn’t save the bastards.
Guess who just joined the wii u club today?
EDIT: Network ID - Dex_Masters
Hahaha I used to feel really bad letting any of my pikmin die so when I was watching the new trailer I was getting kinda mad when he was letting his pikmin get eaten.
Mario Galaxy 3 at next E3, calling it now.
Probably right, but under some different title like Super Mario Universe or Super Mario Utopia
i got the best ending on my first try of pikmin but just barely. i think i was literally on the final day to so i could get everything.
i didn’t start playing pikmin till this year ,but i am now a huge fan of this franchise.
personally i prefer part 1 over 2 while both are awesome games i like the urgency that came with part 1 didn’t really feel that with the part 2
I’ve play strategy games before but I never felt so bad with the loss of a unit as when I had a whole mess of Pikmin and suddenly realized after getting back to the ship that I was 3 or 4 short of a particular color and had no idea what happened to them for the first time.
Take this with a BIG grain of salt. I only mention it because of the magnitude of such a deal, especially for the gamers of my generation that have fond memories of Sega IP’s (Streets of Rage, Virtua Fighter, Panzer Dragoon, PSO, Shenmue, to name just a few).

I always thought Nintendo acquiring Sega made sense. They represent the best of old school and having Sega titles as exclusive can really trip up the comp. Don’t think it will happen but if it does then Nintendo better help Sega get Shenmue 3 out. Yakuza 1-5 are Sony exclusive…wonder what would happen to them?
One thing I’ve learned about Sega is they risk almost everything for the sake of innovation. Which is why I respect them, regardless of some of their bad decisions.
Edit: There are people claiming Sega is taking down Shining Force 3 videos. For the life of me I don’t know why. If it’s true then I’m disgusted…
That grain of salt doesn’t leave me any space to be in the same room as it…Nintendo grabbing Sega would be completely mind blowing and the fact that Microsoft and Sony would just let that happen doesn’t seem like good business on their part. I’m sure with Sega being in financial trouble that all 3 of them have probably given Sega a call on the DL and been like ‘sooooo…need some money? =D’
So NPD numbers are in for those curious to see how Nintendo has done so far
Wii U didn’t sell as many units as Wii did when it was released but they’re making 21% more revenue because of the higher price. I believe it’s probably due to the fact that most people are looking for the deluxe edition units more than anything. People ask me about the systems I have and if I have Deluxes in stock then it’s more likely to sell…basic not so much. Mr. Pachter also says the numbers would be higher if it wasn’t for it selling out. Game Attach rate for the systems is 1.2, putting it above PS3’s launch but lower than Wii’s and 360’s. Of course Mario sold well but it seems the other games seem to not be so much. Didn’t know 360 had a 3.69 attach rate.
Rayman Legends gets confirmed release Date
Feb 28 and demo will be out Dec. 13.
NoE Restricts Wii U eShop sales during the day
dumb…
Eurocom shuts down
Aaaand there goes another one…
Whatever, I just hope Rosalina plays a larger role this time.
Cool, the Wii U’s selling poorly, that means I can pick one up and they won’t benefit.
Where did he say that?
When something sells poorly, buying it still benefits them.
When something is selling greatly, buying it still benefits them.
You should stop fishing around for an excuse to buy a great product and just get it if you want it or not if you don’t.
NO…STOP…DON’T DO IT.
They’re $50 million in the red, you idiot. It says so right there. And Reggie said that they need to sell a system with a game in order for it to turn profitable. If I just buy the system by itself they don’t profit.
Wait, why am I talking to you? You’re a proven retard, it’ll just fall out the other ear.
I’m enjoying the hell outta Darksiders II on WiiU. I should have played these games a long time ago. The atmosphere, colors, and some of the level designs remind me a lot of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Ah, the good ol’ Dreamcast days.
am i the only person bothered by blue and yellow toad?
like we really can’t get mario, luigi, princess and (the REAL) toad again? if we have to have four players…?
and where is koji kondo?
and is anybody else bothered that we went from
mario bros. 1
mario 2
mario 3
mario world
yoshi’s island
mario 64
to where we are now…?
there is no excuse for the visuals, the soundtrack or the lack of …i can’t even describe the word but the lack of something when it comes to the gameplay.
i dunno man. i’ve felt like this for a long, long time when it comes to mario and nintendo.
