Just got my Wii U today. The update download + install time took about a hour. Also if you use club nintendo and entered that Kirby playing card contest check your emails! I got a email saying I won and would get them in 3-4 weeks.
Also Wii U Basic gives 160 club nintendo coins. Mighty Switch Force Hyper Drive Edition gives 20 club nintendo coins. And I assume there could be post play surveys here too so both may give a few more coins. Just noticed the gold wii nun chuck is back for 900 coins on club nintendo too.
Yeah the gold nunchuck is back only have 795 coins though I think I lost my code that came with Nintendo Land or maybe the one with the Wii U didn’t come with one.
On the subject of controllers and what nintendo should make optional or not…Thinking about it from a business decision I can see why Wii motes take a big more precedent over the pro controller for the time being. They’re taking a bet that most people who are shifting over to the Wii U probably already have Wii-motes. There’s going to be less of a percentage of people getting the console who are going to have the Pro controller at the start. However…Sega not having the Pro Controller as an option is a goof…really no reason for it not to be besides them probably not thinking about it. I’m also going to add that for shooters, if given the choice between a standard dual analog stick or pointer controls, I’d choose pointer controls.
I don’t think NintendoLand is worth $60 either but I do find it to be fun and even more so with other people I’m sure it’s a blast. Considering the fact that they didn’t have Wii Sports available separately at the beginning of Wii’s life over here in NA made it slightly more difficult to find the title for those who wanted to play it (I remember getting asked for Wii Sports often around the beginning of Wii’s life…the only way we could get it was through trade in).
CoD and Scribblenauts also seem to be pretty good titles if what the comments on miiverse are anything to go by. AC3 also is supposedly a solid port with some small things here and there.
ZombiU stories

So yeah…played some ZombiU before I went to work and ended up having a couple of encounters and 1 that did not end well for my survivor and was fucking evil for developers to do that. Upon walking upon a hallway I noticed there was a keypad with an arrow pointed toward it and some numbers over it. It caught my attention and upon approaching it all I fucking hear is Zombies making noises to my left from the area I just came from. 3…4…6 fucking Zombies ( as far as I can tell because I didn’t want to find out how many more were coming around the bend) show up and they’re coming for my ass and at least 2 of them have helmets. I have about 20 or so bullets from looting the corpse of my dead body before and this survivor hadn’t leveled up in any gun efficiently and I had just gotten my shit back no more than 30 minutes ago from my dead corpse from earlier. I figure I should try get away from this situation so I make a mad dash for the keypad (the other end of the hallway was filled with fire…) and think it shouldn’t be too bad. * beep beep beep beep BUZZ* beep beep beep beep BUZZ …OH SHIT… beep beep beep beep…buzz! WTF WTF beep beep beep beep BUZZ!. I’m fuckin panicing my ass off as the first few zombies are now only a few feet away from me. beep beep beep beep Booop! FUCK YEAH! I get my ass into the door with the quickness and close the door behind me before looking around into nothingness. Turn the flashlight on and survey my surroundings aaaaand…nothing…there’s no fucking way out of this room. BAM! I quickly turn and realize that the zombies are beating at the door…they’re gonna break that shit down and the only thing in here is a suitcase. I go towards it and open it up and it’s full of broken dreams and disappointment. CRASH! Zombies break the door down and start pouring in and I take a few shots at the first zombie and realize that’s not going to be enough…I’m dead. So I pull the pin on a grenade and toss the sum bitch just before one of them grabs me and bites me…leaving an after math of Zombie chunks splattered all over the walls…save for the one zombie that’s eating away at my face. There is not enough salt that can be thrown over that for me.
The next situation came when I was heading back towards the Doc. I dropped down into this narrow and fucking dark ass cooridor. The flash light can’t do but so much since it’s so cramped and narrow. I’m fully expecting some bullshit in this, It completely reeked of it. Taking a few steps and hearing the music change up only confirmed my suspicions so I’m frantically looking around with the flashlight to find out where this zombie was that didn’t show up on my radar earlier and of course he right in my blind spot as I come into a room with a backpack in the corner. This mother fucker scared the shit outta me especially since he was in my face and he almost grabbed me if not for the fact that I back pedaled just out of range. I put a couple bullets in his head for his trouble not even caring if I was alerting anything else in the area.
This shit man…lol. I wanted to thump the book into the Doc’s chest and be like ‘HERE!’

I don’t know why they bothered putting resources in the redesigning and further watering down the wii…That’s money that could have went to something else but what do I know? Maybe suddenly this will make people jump on the Wii band wagon? …nope…
There’s a rumor going around about a Yoshi game
Not only did this show up through some type of Miiverse hack but Best Buy/Future Shop had a blurb on the game on it’s websites. I imagine someone in Nintendo is possibly catching the business end of katana while Miyamoto is organizing his night ninja operation on the unfortunate person responsible for the goof at Best Buy.
Hey King! You’re zombie showed up in my game chillin around my safe house. I got that alert like 4 different times lol. Thanks to your ammo it helped me get through further into the game…until I paniced and fumbled with pulling out a shot gun not taking notice that the zombie had something strapped to it’s back. Other than the demo and the fact that we know it’s coming? Nothing. I’m not expecting anything at this coming E3 or even possibly next E3 on the Wii U Zelda. Skyward Sword was finished 3/4 of the way through 2011 I’m sure most of the team either is taking a break or some of them siphoned off to help with the 3DS Zelda that I’m expecting to see something on next year.

Pretty much confirms Zelda and the Mario game that probably most of us are looking forward too is being made. Also states that Nintendo is going to continue to try to work with 3rd parties to bring content to the system. Sooooo…anybody go to Rockstar’s headquarters yet? juuuust checkin…
Update on Netflix impressions: Watching Equilibrium now while typing and organizing trailers for work. Looks like that placement issue that I had of the subtitles is actually dependent on the movie which is good. Disappointed that this doesn’t have the same function of continuing on its own with episodes if you’re watching something like a series so yeah Netflix on Wii U is pretty much on par with PS3’s. Maybe they’ll do an update and add in that ability…I can hope.
Random Thoughts: Game show games actually have a bit of potential to be more fun on this system since you could possibly actually have a ‘host’ play on the Pad and pick questions and stuff on it while everyone else is using either wiimotes or other controllers for buzzers. Family Feud could probably benefit and Jeopardy. No telling if the companies that constantly toss those games on the systems will even bother thinking about that though…
