There’s a lot of stuff that I didn’t name…that’s why there’s a list in the OP for references. I didn’t want to name everything.
Hey guys for those of you playin zombi u. Can you save and how does it work? If your character dies can you just reload your last save and start over or is it more of a quick save type of thing like fire emblem games.
For example you can save but when you load the save that save is deleted. I was just curious as all the good things I am hearing make me want this game more and more. I am just pissed at these reviews that I have seen that give the game a bad score because it is actually a survivor horror.
You can only save by sleeping in your safe house or in a bed that you may happen to find along in your travels. No quick save or anything.
How often do you find beds and safe houses
eh…I can’t say rightly since I’ve only found one other bed so far but I know there are more. If I was to guess I’d say there’s one per every area probably.
Played ZombiU’s Multiplayer with a friend this morning. Played the Assault mode. Jesus. That shit is addicting as hell!
Its basically CTF/Territories/Control Point. We had it set up 4 Flags to win(easily could bump that to 5 and be set). Zombies set to Normal(has Beginner as well). There are 3 Capture areas…once on gets capped, it gets locked for a little bit. Eventually, it’ll open up again and you can go and capture it.
Gamepad player is Boris, aka King of The Zombies. You get a map on the screen. You touch the zombie you want at the bottom, then simply select where you want to place them. You get a basic selection of zombie types at start:
Grunt: You use these guys to capture flags. Its their only purpose.
Guard: These guys stay in one spot, until a survivor provokes them.
Hunter: They immediately start heading to the survivors location.
as you play, you level up. allowing you to Unlock other zombie types or bonus effects of your zombie(double damage, increase the resources and points, a lockdown period…where no one can capture points for a set period) other zombie types include…
Armored Guard: Same as the guard, except bodyshots don’t do shit. Takes multiple headshots or explosive to kill.
Sprinter: Like the hunter, but much faster.
Explosive Hunter: Survivor shoot these guys, they explode. And deal massive damage(WARNING. SEND IN WITH CAUTION!)
Spitter: Spits acid that not only does a fuckload of damage but blurs survivor’s vision.
The Other player (WiiU Pro Controller, WiiMote+ Nunchuck/Classic Controller) plays as a survivor. You have from 7 different loadouts to choose from. Usually a primary gun, Secondary gun, a throwable, and a vaccine. Shotgun/Pistol combos are pretty top tier. Haven’t tried the others. You must hold down a flag area for a certain amount of time while defending yourself from the seemingly endless number of Zombies being spawned by the other player. At the same time, you must also take out any Grunts whenever you can, as they are the only ones who can capture flags. If you do a good enough job holding shit down (surviving) you are awarded various items around the level. Such as Auto Turret, Med Kit, Extra Vaccine, Double Damage. Ammo is also pick up able on the level too, be sure to grab it whenever you can.
Rules:
-King Boris can only have 8 Zombies out at a time, Zombies cost points to spawn. It regenerates at a fast pace overtime. Even faster if you kill survivor.
-Survivors Must fully complete the reload animations. Sprinting or Shoving cancels it completely, keeping it empty. It must be manually reloaded as well.
-King Boris cannot spawn Zombies on red areas on the map(usually, right where the survivor is)
-Any Items Survivors Unlock. Stay on the map until they are picked up.
-Survivors cannot Capture a flag if any Zombies are on the point. The Timer stops, until you’ve cleared them all out.
-Survivor Ammo Pick Ups respawn.
Ya know. It SUCKS this is not Online. I could definitely get into this.
Sorry guys, haven’t added anybody yet. This week has been crazy hectic.
ZombiU sounds really good from what you guys have posted. I might wait for a price drop though since my backlog is ridiculous combined with having zero time.
I’m probably gonna have to try that ZombiU multiplayer next time Rioting Soul comes over.
Just got back from Gamestop. Traded Black Ops 2 and Nintendoland for Mario Bros. U and bit the bullet, also picked up Sonic All Star Racing.
Will try them later.
EDIT: Wtf is with all these games requiring Wiimotes for Multiplayer? lol. I don’t own any fucking Wiimotes.
???..checks back of the Sonic box…hmmm…wonder why they didn’t put support for the Pro controller. I know you should be able to use it for black ops.
Nintendo sells 1.2 million hardware units
NOA’s figures include everything…that’s 3DS, DS, and Wii thrown in there as well. Wii U did 400,000 on it’s own which was lower than Wii’s 600,000 in 2006 but Wii U is 50/100 more expensive so that probably offsets it.
ZombiU dev team has been leaving messages around the safe house…One that was taunting ZombiU players about trying to beat the game on Survivor mode that has since been replaced with a note of who had finally done it. Now there’s a note about meeting in an area within it on Wednesday. Why do I get a strange feeling that if I show up in this spot on Wednesday my safe house is gonna get attacked by a hoard?
Yes. you could use it for Black Ops 2(Actually. I did.). But I traded that away. XD.
Its just a little baffling that Mario U(the primer launch title) and Sonic Racing need them for local MP. Both games have controls for Pro Controller…its evidenced in 1P mode controls with the gamepad.
Wiimotes should NOT be required for any game that is released under the Wii U title. Shit should be optional. Black Ops 2 and ZombiU got it right. (Wii U Pro controller used for MP. But Wiimotes and all its gizmos are optional.) This is a total Ninten-doh! Who should I be sending furious e-mails or tweets to on this matter?
I hate to be that guy…but…
I’m not enjoying Mario wii u at all. It’ll be hard for me to get into specifics since I’m typing on my phone so I’ll just cover a few things.
The music…the castle theme is so good…as are the tracks in the last world (where you fight bowser). Everything else is weak.
The graphics…when I read the message board on gamefaqs ppl were talking about how good they were and he lighting and all that. This game looks like a Nintendo 3DS title. It doesn’t look current gen at all to me. I dunno…
The gameplay, which is what matters most…
So this is my first Mario game in a long time. Mario now moves similar to luigi? I get it. It’s more “realistic” but eh. I like the idea of enemies from the past that have returned. Boss fights for the most part are too easy. Some levels are frustrating. Bowser jr is still a pos IMO.
The level design is eh. I can see where they tried and I’m glad that they did but all that talk on gf about this game fucking with Mario 3 or world need to stop. Controls feel off, the soundtrack isn’t there, the charm isn’t there, the way the game looks isn’t there, etc.
Nintendo might need to consider hand drawing next time.
We also need something new. Mario 3, world and yoshi’s island all brought something new and enjoyable to the table. This game feels kinda stale. Don’t get me wrong I want a Mario 3ish Mario worldish game but this doesn’t FEEL like it.
You aren’t being that guy, there are others who feel the same as you do about the whole ‘New’ line in general.
I gotta work but when I get back I’ll post about my adventures in Buckingham Palace to get that dumbass book that the doctor wanted in ZombiU.
I think it makes sense because I can see they’re just promoting the pad for hardcore gamers and for the wii u to seem more like older consoles. there’s nothing interesting about taking a step backwards and focusing on the control pad. Control pad should DEF be the optional sub choice for people who are too lazy to learn motion controls
- Mouse/keyboard
- Motion control
- Pad
Motion control has the most potential due to VR and AR gaming, which is obviously the evolution of console/mobile gaming
I remember mentioning something about this a couple of weeks ago http://wiiudaily.com/2012/11/nintendo-rumored-to-work-on-wii-mini/
I’m having a blast doing the challenges in Mario bros U! Some of them are nearly impossible, but I keep coming back to them. Posted a 22.48 seconds on Mini Mountaineer. So Fun!
This may be slightly old news/opinion, but… I am baffled Nintendo thinks NintendoLand stands as a viable $60 title. It doesn’t. It’s a great pack-in to be sure, shows all sorts of neat stuff the controller can do. It’s fun in short bursts, and there are a few events I’ll probably come back to soon. As a general package though, way too many of the games in it lose appeal once you’ve gotten over the controller gimmick it’s teaching you about. Why they would sell this as a stand-alone title at full price is just beyond me.
Think I’m just going to order some new things online soon, since my shopping trip didn’t pan out as planned. Sounds like ZombiU, Mario U, and Sonic Racing are the big winners so far, along with possibly TTT2 if you didn’t grab it for another system?
My brother picked up ZombiU. Gonna play it in a bit.
