Too bad? You can probably do other stuff with the screen too but that’s something that should be standard for sports titles. I know in a football game passing could work wonders with the touch screen sense you could just (for difficulty’s sake over just tapping) drag your finger from your QB to the receiver. You know what else could be cool? Co-op First Person NFL. This could work on either screen but one person could be any player and the other person could be the coach/QB. Same with other sports games too. There’s a lot for sure.
Yeah I really want one too but I’m beyond broke now so I might have to wait till next year.
The thing is…if preorders are coming in like that than I don’t blame GS…BUT THAT’S ONLY IF THEY ARE COMING IN LIKE THAT. It’d be foolish from a business perspective to stop taking preorders on something like this when your competition is still doing so. But if preorders are coming in like that though then you run the risk of over preordering and then possibly having to deal with angry customers and having to explain to them why they won’t be able to get their system in time for Christmas. I don’t want to have to deal with that shit.
GS also has put in ‘Ebay rules’ effect. 1 preorder per customer. I don’t know about the other retailers though so those people who are thinking of taking the system then jacking the price up to ungodly amounts will have to work a bit harder.
OH! Bro see when you said “They” originally I thought you meant Nintendo. Like they had a problem with the touchscreen being used just for plays. And Rocky how do you know that sports games fans don’t like “that shit” and to be specific, just plays (ignoring what I said in response because again, I thought we were talking about Nintendo and their thirst for innovation), when it has never been done before?
Really the only bloody problem that the WiiU faces is that the graphics are already outdated and the latest graphics will always sell games that are based on being as realistic as possible. I mean if Microsoft makes a controller with a small 5 inch touch screen on it to go with the next Xbox people will probably use it to make plays on the fly but they will choose the Next Xbox version of Madden over the WiiU’s because of the graphics.
In other words if all three current gen consoles had the same Wii style controls the PS3/360’s versions of Madden would still sell more because of the graphics. People are willing to adjust themselves for controls if that’s the only option that they are given.
(Online is also a factor nowadays but Nintendo’s WiiU plans aren’t that clear to me so I can’t comment on that).
When it comes down to it for me I’m looking for a new gameplay experience and the WiiU seems like the ultimate package… at the moment.
I’m a lifelong Nintendo fan and I love my Wii, but does anyone else find it aggravating that 1st party games like Nintendo Land and NSMBU don’t have any online multi or co-op? This was a glaring hole with the Wii and it seems to be getting addressed with games like Mass Effect 3 and CoD, but why are Nintendo 1st party games not embracing this?
It is kind of annoying…I would like to play NSMBU online.
Reading through the thread on Gaf it seems preorders for the Wii U are going rapidly and pretty much everyone is preordering the deluxe edition. Other GS’s are telling other people the same thing my manager said about stopping preorders on at least the Deluxe tonight. This holiday season is going to be fun…
I am so excited about the Wii U, I wont get it until after the Holdays though. Really disgusted by the reactions to Bayonetta 2 yesterday but I wont partake in any of that nonsense, so many games that have my interest. Oh man I cant wait.
I hope not. One of them is for my cousin. If it’s no longer possible to reserve another one, I’ll guard these especially fierce.
