Thanks for the heads up, would have forgotten about this one. Is this gonna be a limited print? I’m wondering if I should pick this up right now or wait until the holidays to see if I can get it at a better price.

I can tell you that individual replacement Wii U GamePad controllers will be available from Nintendo Consumer Service for a fee. In regard to warranty coverage for that accessory, at this time no specific announcements have been made. However, it’s worth noting that Nintendo warranties do not cover physical damage. - Owen Allen, Nintendo of America Inc.

Wal-Mart just starting taking pre-orders. Toys R Us and Best Buy are still taking them as well, as far as I know.

I might pre-order a Wii U since they are being sold out at GameStop. I am still waiting on more announcements though, I am not in a rush to buy one. I would like to have one though.

Wii’s online is a joke, this system is trying to be taken seriously.

I assume some of us here play fighting games or Smash Bros and having an ethernet port is a must. USB Ethernet is a poor substitute that would have a significant speed downgrade.

I really don’t think I should go to the midnight release. I imagine if I walk out of Gamestop holding two WiiU’s I’ll probably get mugged. I’ll have to stay in line all day with backup.

I think Best Buy (in store) and Wal-Mart are the last options, unless they’ve already sold out.

A few Monster Hunter 3U tidbits:

  • Tri servers will be shut down eventually
  • didn’t want to shut them down until players could move onto a new game
  • most likely will not be able to transfer Wii save to 3DS or Wii U
  • uses Nintendo’s servers for online
  • not sure on regional servers yet
  • Capcom USA waiting on Wii U builds to play
  • no word on transferring Japanese 3DS save to the NA 3DS build
  • highly unlikely that 3DS will get online
  • shouldn’t be any differences in content between the two games

Yeah, that’s not as good. It’s better than wifi, still not as good as straight wire. The only 2 good outcomes I see are:

That picture is old and the system might have ethernet
or
It’ll have a USB 3.0 port so it’ll go fast enough.

USB 2.0 ethernet adapters are not the same as just having an ethernet port, it’s significantly slower.

Not to mention if wifi is the standard option people who don’t know better (AKA most people) will be using wifi. Wifi is NOT ok for video games.

I forgot to respond to this…As far as I’m thinking I’d expect to treat it in much the same manner as the Super Mario All-Stars Collection. I wouldn’t be expecting many copies of this game to be floating about out there. We only got 1 reserve on the game so they sent us 2 copies. I’m not expecting either of them to be there when I go into work this afternoon.
