I dunno if its just me or not but for some reason DBKai is an ugly show to me. It looks like they put a filter on the show to make it look brand new and now it reminds me of those flash shows. Pre-Kai footage looks better…probably just me.
Ocean Goku sounds like a surfer. Ocean stuff is ok, I like their work Dead Zone and Tree of Might. I like Funi’s final stable of VAs for the show tho. Those remastered boxes where they replace the Fulconer music with the original music but i can still have the option of dub or sub are really awesome. I’d like to buy them some time soon.
Wish there was a box that had the option for OG music or Fulconer, Dub or Sub, and was the footage simply upscaled to 1080p instead of chopping the show up and doing something funny to the footage like Kai did. I get Kai, it makes sense but id like the show in its original state with a large set of option avail for viewing it. If I wanted the Manga’s pacing…I’ll just read the Manga.
The name has nothing to do with Japan. It was called Toonami to represent a “Wave of Cartoons.” That’s as stupid as removing the move earthquake from Pokemon as the earthquake happened in Japan(although I did read somewhere that it hasn’t been used in the anime since the quake). They may as well call it toonami, as people are asking for Toonami, “not just your regular Cartoon Show.”
nah, Toonami intentionally sounds similar to tsunami which is a japanese word, even the meaning wasnt all too different. Toonami wouldnt even be Toonami without japanese anime… its not even a big deal.
I’m well aware that it is a word derived from the Japanese language. That’s why the Toonami name implied a Wave of Cartoons. I believe that was officially stated in one of the promos. Adult Swim plays some anime on saturday anyway, people want a comeback of the Toonami brand and what it stood for. Otherwise, they could pick up some new anime, but nobody would watch. Toonami was an experience unlike your regular cartoon show, and CN prided themselves on this.

Very interesting indeed. I have no clue how exactly I’m supposed to follow the schedule, but I do see the openings. You’d think they would keep Durarara on for a toonami block, but who knows?
Durarara is shit. It’s a good thing that and Kekkaishi’s contract expire really soon. I hope they put the OG animes back on Toonami, but I am very welcoming to some new shit too.
