I second this notion.
I havenāt seen any advertisements for toonami. If you really want to see DBZ, you could just go to nicktoons. It was strange saying that.
I like SAC but 2nd Gigās opening just outswaggered everything in season one. It was so damn good.
Kai isnāt the same. VAs, dialogue, music is all different.
Well, thatās because:
- Funimation dubbed DBZK, while another company (whose name I totally forgot lol) dubbed the original DBZ.
- Dialogue needs to change in order to fit in with the shorter amount of episodes. Also, thereās better translation.
- The music is actually the original music from the show. The English dub of DBZ created itās own entire soundtrack. I personally donāt mind either way.
I was thinking an intro of Vegas instead of space going into old clips from the first EVOās of match highlights, player and crowd reactions, a quick slide of all the games played at that EVO then going into the more recent ones with more match highlights, crowd and player reactions with each games cover being a quick slide show
To different Toonami music of course
Truth is truth.

Son, you need to step out. Have you watched BS6? Not just the half hour they showed, the whole thing? Thereās a reason a show that only appeared on Toonami for one week has so many clips of it shown in Mad Rhetoric, the best damn amv Toonami has.

I do think it was the weakest show Toonami had on the greatest night weāve seen in 2012 thus far, but to say the show itself sucks? You may as well say Ryderās gonna take the strap from Punk at Summerslam, that would be more believable.
And just a daily reminder to tweet #BRINGBACKTOONAMI, theyāre listening, donāt stop talking now.
lol i watched the whole thingā¦i remember when it was originally showed for that whole week.
Iāll admit BS6 isnāt for everyone, but the story itself for me was very solid. Iāve finally managed to track it down again, Iāll be watching it tomorrow.
I assumed once the ginyu force saga started and from then on, funimation got its hands on it and dubbed it and added in bruce faulconers music as wellā¦
(jap music does not fit dbz at all) im not a fan boy of bruce but ITS THE ONLY WAY XD
That was the case actually. Cartoon Network ran the Ocean Dubbed DBZ and I remember toonami ran a promo making fun of the fact that we got left at that cliffhanger where Goku was starting to fight Cheice and Burter and the announcer had said, āIs Goku the legendary Super Saiyan???..Tune in next weekā.
Funimation redubbed the beginning of DBZ onward and Cartoon Network optioned to just pick up where the Ocean dubbed left off at.
according to inside sources, Toonami is making a comeback. Negotiations are being made with various licensing companies to acquire new shows.
no news on when its coming back, but most speculate it wonāt be on until 2013. earliest would be at the end of this year.
They can throw on a nostalgia anime block for now and brand it is Toonami just to keep the hype up. Iāve seen Cowboy Bebop dozens of times. Itās a great show, you canāt deny that. Besides, They had enough shows under their belt that they could run them all again at least for the year. If they let people forget, I donāt think theyāll remember again.
I think it was two different companies that dubbed DBZ because, if I remember correctly, the VAs changed upon Gokuās arrival on Namek in the Namek Saga.
Funimation Dubbed both. They just hired a couple of different actors for kai.
You are talking about WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back when when people watched the Ocean Dub.
Iām not talking about Kai, Iām talking about the OG DBZ run back in the early 2000s
why is this thread still going.
hey guys, april fools has been over for a few weeks now.
NOW who the fuck cares if toonami comes back? are you kidding?
netflix? torrents? etc?
first season of DBZ has diff VAs. anyone who watched the shows first season on WB and later CN could tell you that. because the time between first season being dubbed and second is at least a few years. music and voices after 1st season were fucking awful. i just read the manga back then, online 4 free, poor quality scans and translations. aw yeah.
The experience isnāt the same when you stream it through Netflix, or if you download that shit for free and watch it on the VLC player. Thereās also a load of technical complications when going through the torrent or streaming route, e.g. buffering with streams, data hiccups on torrents.
Animu was pretty much meant to be watched on cable television. The closest youāll get to that kind of experience is picking up the DVDs/VHS/Laserdiscs and watching it on your tv.
But thatās not the point. If Toonami comes back, many people will be inclined to purchase cable just to watch one block. And the resurrection isnāt aimed towards the nostalgic crybabies who grew up with the block, thereās talk CN will work their asses off to promote and market Toonami towards kids.
I Got the AnimeNetworkā¦Iām goodā¦(when I donāt Stream New Anime)
