Wow what does Rosetta Stone drop the ball on? I always wanted to get into buying it for learning Japanese.
thatâs what Iâve been saying. Late Toonami was garbage and not worth bringing back. bring back pre-04 toonami or dont bring it back at all
Yo fuck the haters.
Bobobo was my shit.
The Slayers was going to be on Toonami around 2000 or 2001. But CN lost to Fox Kids in a bidding-war for the broadcasting rights.
Unfortunately, Fox didnât do shit with it, and sat on the rights until 2002. They recorded some lines to edit over the offensive stuff, but Fox Kids stopped because they didnât realize how much supposed objectional content was in it, that and they couldnât find the VAs from pre-15th episode.
The Slayers had a missed opportunity to have explosive popularity. Had it aired on Toonami instead of the International Channel, the series would be much bigger than a remnant of the past, which is its current status now.
Rosetta Stone is fine for learning the basics of any language. Then again, I refuse to pay for software and Iâve only used it as a refresher (learnt most of my Japanese while in high school). I was referencing beginning instruments of learning a language, not the intermediate or otherwise. Everyone starts somewhere. Culture is one thing altogether - the trolling was about subbed <versus> dubbed. Culture is necessary to understand the language as a whole - but does little by itself. Ergo, my statement was part-troll and part-fact. Iâve never understood people who claim that âsubbed is better than dubbedâ when they cannot even understand the language to begin with. Itâs redundant, like putting on Telemundo (Spanish) or Anime Live (Japanese channel I frequently watch via stream) without knowing either language. You may grasp some things (culture), but not all things (language). The whole âtrue anime fanâ is BS regardless, as if you like what you like - then youâre a fan, regardless of what people tell you.
**On Topic: **Yeah, Iâm going to have to agree that if they actually do bring back Toonami, it needs to be with some of the pre-2004 shows. Mix of old series and newer series may just pay off for them. As for the live action shows that Adult Swim has become a bit OTT with, Iâm not a fan of any of them. âWatch The Heart, She Hollarâ was somewhat decent, only because it was absolutely fucking insane altogether. I wouldnât mind them bringing back .Hack//, Gundam (any series of it), and Outlaw Star for a little bit. My problem, ultimately, is that Iâm always content watching whatever they have on Saturday nights - just that it gets a bit repetitive after theyâve shown the entire series about four times. :\
Edit: *I really hope that you guys arenât thinking theyâll ever bring back full-fledged Toonami. With all of their current live action series and their contracts with FOX (American Dad/Family Guy/Cleveland Show/King of the Hill), we wonât see that for quite some time. If/when it ever does come back, itâll likely end up being Saturday-night only (just as the anime block is now). Hopefully, however, they can trim down the hour of Family Guy on Saturdays to a double airing of a show or two different ones. *
sucks toonami didnt come on last night. i didnât notice, I was too busy going on a prom date .
but Stay tuned guys. We made some noise and our voices were heard, so lets see what the future will bring.
thats really disappointing, its a really solid show all around except for the sup par animation but thats mid 90s for yaâŚ
hell if toonami could make Rurouni Kenshin work then The Slayers would have been easy to put into their line up.
btw is the slayers revolution worth checking out?
If I were you, I would give it a chance.
IMO, I thought it was pretty lame as both arcs were trying to bask off its former glory. To put it lightly, Revolution/Evolution-R is a mix of old sensibilities & tropes, and modern-day trends. But I havenât sat through all episodes, so Iâm being somewhat harsh on it.
All the episodes, both dubbed and subbed can be found on YouTube or Hulu for free. So thereâs no reason to not check it out.
Hell yeahâŚI captured that intro to my hard drive when they showed the second epâŚmainly cuz that song rocks.
I need to stay away from this threadâŚdamnâŚI just remembered doing some homework before new DBZ episodes came on and then discussing that shit the next day at the lunch table with friendsâŚ

that one is the most hyped season intro
and Z ALWAYS came before homework⌠always
Always been my favorite intro.
i think sumtin is gonna be brewing. they tweeted that âtheyâve heard the fans. stay tunedâ
i think we all had a fondness for the android/cell arc since EVERYONE was tired of the green skies and stalling that defined the namek episodes
adult swim is going to post the april 1st ratings tonight, right?
Until they show Cowboy Bebop or the original DBZ I ainât impressed
Fuck toonami? The hell you just say son?
Yeah. I feel like theyâre making all new promos and ish
Yeah a long while back, I remember them saying they had a music studio or somethingâŚ
They really havenât done anything with it as of late thoughâŚ
More fan-made DBZ intros, because I think that the guy who made them is amazing.
