Anime Network still shows subbed anime.
Anime Network USED to have a channel awhile back but that got shut-down. At best Anime Network now is all Video-On demand and Internet streams. Subbed anime WILL NOT get ratings to support itself. The demographic would easily alienate the casual viewers and feels like its catering to the sub purists despite how niche anime is to begin with on US television. Adult Swim is not gonna shoot themselves in the foot yet. Toonami would not even be the same if they aired subbed anime. I can go to Crunchyroll if I want that stuff.

I wish someone in America would just dub hunter x hunter 2011 already, after i started watching dubs again, i avoid subs unless the show truly only has subs. Its too annoying to have to read shit constantly and not just watch the characters.
Unable to watch due to lack of cable and dish, but it looks to me like that hiatus really paid off.

Toonamiā ratings are a vast improvment over ASA, but we still pale in comparison to FG and some AS originals. Hell, even Bleach couldnāt top Off the Air at one point.
I still think WS and CN should work together to promote Toonami as a kid brand too. Thatās the only way theyāll ever get the shounens on the block.
Well Canāt be helped alot of the Seth Mcfarlean comedy shows is really mainstream in the west so anime which are niche in comparison losing to Family Guy and troupeā is expected. Toonami block still blew the Eric Show out of the waters and the Premiere shows outperformed Metalopacalypse often despite these shows having regular weeknight presence. Shows like Boondocks and Robot Chicken appeal to a broader audience however.
Point is if they truly wanted improved ratings they could have brought something else with a broader viewer demographic instead of anime. However, they took a chance ever since april fools and so far does not seem to be backfiring, even when week 3 ratings lowered because of NBA Finals and A big fight happening that same night
the other thing is everyone knows what anime is. itās not like 1999-2001 anymore when the block was breaking new ground with anime that wouldnāt have come to cable.

Yeah Boondocks, Robot Chicken, and certain episodes of Metalopacalypse are what I like on the AS original comedy line-up. Canāt wait for Boondocks Season 4 as well as ongoing Toonami with that being said.
Okā¦0-0 Panty & Stockings is not my cup of tea anime (I wonāt deny that the English dub is pretty good though) but with this video this makes it REALLY likely that its gonna be one of the next new premiers on Toonami.

Yeahā¦even with the bleeps its still fine for US television since DeadMan Wonderland has loads. Honestly rather have new/fairly recent anime be on the new Toonami then the old nostalgia shows. It would give me an incentive to stay tune more often. Only valid reason i posted these is because Funimation put Adult swim and Cartoon Network tags
