I know it was against the rules but what benefit does a younger gymnast have over an older one like in the 2008 scandal? I would think it’s more impressive to be skilled at something when you’re younger than someone older, but they made it sound like it was a real advantage or something.
Which is why the Olympics needs to be reformed and the IOC disbanded. Corrupt IOC members overlooking any sort of cheating as long as the athlete’s country bribes them with enough money.

Younger gymnasts also means they haven’t fully grown in height. Shorter height means lower center of gravity so it’s easier to balance. Age is really only an issue with females than it is with males anyway.
