The Official Thread of the London 2012 Olympics

Wow, 45 minutes of waiting there. So from what understand she would move on due to a priority ruling in the comments (or is it another round, dunno the comments seem to contradict the article) and she lost her bronze match afterwards. That sounds all kinds of messed up because a timer check doesn’t sound that hard to verify, unless they also don’t allow replays in fencing for judges.

IOC you corrupt bastards! That woman was robbed! The audience even knew that!

You can’t have a worldwide watched event that takes place every 4 years without blatant officiating screw-ups that people will talk about more than the games themselves.

Just ask FIFA.

Yeah they’ve been trying to fuck both Korea over in this Olys a lot so far. Even our lil bro Canada said YOLO and tried to steal a spot from them.

and god, I hate those European commentators. They dicksuck a bit too hard. Also, GB getting bodied. U.S.A! U.S.A!

npr is saying, they have some kind of reselling program for people who leave early. their also saying the reason its empty is cause of particpants families…other officials are saying its companies who got seats but didnt show up.

Nice article. Props to the girl, those pictures of her defiance and refusing to leave the area is worth more than an Olympic medal anyway, which I read was only worth around $600 for a Gold, and contains mostly copper.

fuck yeah. gimme fuckin wushu in the olympics. it’d be like gymnastics with fuckin swords.

Mexican divers successfully complete four somersaults and dive cleanly. Looked like a couple of ninjas.

As it turns out, there was indeed a swimmer on the Russian 400 Freestyle Relay that I had swum with in the past. Thought that was him, but the names went away too quickly to catch. Small world.

The Korean fencer’s situation is distressing. Respect to her perseverance and defiance, though.

Track and Field doesn’t start until next week. I expect popoffs and the like from him though.

i never knew america was such a big swimming country til i looked at the medal list. damn.

great britain about to die drinking tonight. they are gonna get their drinks paid for them for life.

womens gymnastics all look like they want to murder people. like they got that cold blooded look.

So is the salty US media popping off about how that Chinese swimmer must be doping or China is genetically engineering their athletes since her final 50m were faster than Lochte? Reminds me of 2008 when the US media was stirring up controversy on how China’s female gymnasts must be underage due to their short height and unlike the majority of obese American children, Chinese girls don’t hit puberty at age 8.

I also expect the worst in Track. Calling it now, Bolt’s going to get DQ’d due to the false start one and done rule.

Olympic idle thoughts:

US Women’s Beach Volleyball - Czech dat ass out Republic… seriously.

I wonder what the biggest breast size is in the Olympics. Female athletes generally have small boobs.

Am I the only one who, as soon as they see a fat chick in the Olympics, thinks “they’re either a weight lifter, shooter, shotputter, or hammer thrower?”

holy shit @ japan’s dismount. that nigga thought he was in electric boogaloo and tried to do a headspin off that dismount. lol…trolling the olympics hard.

id say great britains team soul was crushed…but we all know gingers lack that.

yo team usa had a fuckin whale in water polo.

The dot (red or green) that lights up on the side of the competitor’s onscreen display indicates who landed a hit (touch) in a valid area of contact.

Sometimes, it’s pretty clear who gets the touch, but other times it gets a bit more complicated (a white dot appears with a color dot indicating off-balance moment for an invalid hit IIRC or both red/green dots light up at the same time which then goes to judges decision and some technicality stuffs factor in like ‘right of way’/attacking as well as parry/riposte stuff).

Note:
This is what I’ve observed while watching Olympic Fencing stuffs so far. I don’t really follow the sport either but it’s interesting to watch, especially when a competitor scores a touch for a point, lol.
Someone else who knows about fencing stuffs can probably give better insight on the subject and explain it better.

i need a clip of japans dismount…that shit was too funny.

That fencing judgment was bullshit. Why couldn’t they have just halted the match to fix the clock, or just go another round?

China isn’t above cheating.

i love china in the olympics, their like a borderline cartoon villain…but as a country. they try some half hearted scheme to only get foiled in the end.

lol…he should know his twitter account will be back at the end of the olympics. guess he’ll just have to spam his facebook status.

nuthin more 'MERICAN than weightlifting.

Not to say that other people don’t cheat. But they cheat as individuals. China cheats as a country.
