I should know better. I mean, I REEEEEEEEEALLY should know betterâŚ
But Tales of Graces looks pretty good.
Still wonât buy it if it forces me to get a Wii-mote + Nunchuk for every player.
Dr. B wouldnât force no Nunchuk on me, even though he has the power to. No homo.
Apparently it has Classic Control support.

⌠Interesting. Not as interesting as if it had GC controller support, but interesting nonetheless.
Dr. B interests me in homosexual ways. No homo.

Just beat the japanese ps3 version of vesperia despite knowing zero japanese (I had already beaten the x360 version twice). I highly recommend it for those of you debating whether or not to import it.

Is looking nice so far, it shows they are actually trying with this one, a rarity among Wii games.

Looks like quite a bit of drama.
Whoeverâs playing in that gameplay vid⌠needs to use normal attacks into techs.
MrQuotes:
im still hesitant on spending like 90 some odd dollars on a game in a language i barely comprehend.
im still holdin out for some hope, but if nothing is announced in a few months, ill most likely import it as well
Keep the faith. If SO4 can come to PS3, then so can ToV.
Tales of Graces looks pretty damn nice. I like how they designed the world map.
Graces is looking good, I wonder if the dual fighting styles of Asbel transfer over to everyone else.
And wow, this read truly revived, looks like weâve done a fine job :smokin:
Yeap, everyone in Graces has dual fighting styles. Also Classic Controller support for Graces is confirmed, so no need to worry about waggling. Also BTW Graces HAS no normal attack button. Itâs all artes, for the guy above who was wondering why no normal attacks got used. One of the aims of Gracesâs arte system is to blur the lines between artes and normal attacks iirc. The CC system means that TP isnât an issue. In fact, have this wall of text explaining how the artes system works:
Looks like the Artes for the A button are a graduated or tiered system of Artes that can be strung together to access more or different Artes.
Letâs go ahead and take an example using English named Artes.
So on Neutral A weâll have: Demon Fang -> Azure Edge -> Azure Storm -> Dragon Swarm.
So we press A once and we get Demon Fang. We press A again and weâll now get Azure Edge. Press A a third time and we link to Azure Storm and on the fourth press of A we get Dragon Swarm.
So our combo will start with Demon Fang then Azure Edge then Azure Storm and finish off with Dragon Swarm. Make sense?
So letâs say we start off with Demon Fang, but donât want to combo to Azure Edge, we can then press Up A and link to Sonic Thrust, then press Neutral A and get Azure Storm and press Neutral A once more and get Dragon Swarm.
So our new combo looks like Demon Fang -> Sonic Thrust -> Azure Storm -> Dragon Swarm.
For each Arte we link, we increase the CC cost by 1. So the first combo is 1+2+3+4 = 10 CC. The second combo also equals 10 CC.
So what if we want to link 2 Artes from the same tier? Thatâs a little trickier, but it looks like by the time you get to the third tier you can swing back and forth between tier 2 (CC 2) and tier 3 (CC 3) Artes just by using any of the directional Artes except neutral.
In otherwords, Tier 3 Up A, Left A, Down A, Right A will send you back to Tier 2. Tier 2 Neutral A, Up A, Left A, Down A, Right A will send you back to Tier 3. You can do this infinite number of times with two stipulations:
You donât run out of CC.
You donât combo to Tier 3 Neutral A.
thanks dude from official tales boards. for the curious hereâs asbelâs artes in the TGS demo, from the same guy:

^ Oh wow.
Iâm suddenly looking forward to trying this out!
Is there a jump button? I notice combat in the video was behind the back. Hereâs hoping they finally removed the â2D fighting in 3Dâ nonsense.
Dr. B can combine Demon Fang and Mad Sexy into Mad Sexy Demon.
I donât think thereâs a jump button, There sure isnât room for one with the default controls. Since the camera is behind the back you move with Up and Down, with Left and Right controlling sidesteps. No Free Running this time, just sidesteps. Holding the Guard button and moving triggers either an Around Step, an Aiming Step or a Back Step depending on the direction pressed. The D-Pad is used to instantly switch between characters on the field. Also, the B button acts as a traditional Artes button. The closest thing to a normal attack is the attacks performed when switching between styles. edit: hereâs a simpler explaination of how artes work in ToG:
By pressing A youâll use Shunka. Then, if you press A after Shunka youâll use Setsuga; if you press down/up with A after Shunka, youâll use Senshinkyaku;if you press left with A after Shunka, youâll use Houyokushou; if you press right with A after Shunka, youâll use Suieijin.
If you press A after using either Setsuga, Senshinkyaku, Houyokushou or Suieijin, youâll use Soushou; If you press up/down with A after using either Setsuga, Senshinkyaku, Houyokushou or Suieijin, youâll use Retsushinkohou(The Beast look-alike); If you press left with A after using either Setsuga, Senshinkyaku, Houyokushou or Suieijin, youâll use Senrouga; If you press right with A after using either Setsuga, Senshinkyaku, Houyokushou or Suieijin, youâll use Saijinreiga.
If you press A after using either Soushou, Retsushinkohou, Senrouga or Saijinreiga, youâll use Souha; If you press up/down with A after using either Soushou, Retsushinkohou, Senrouga or Saijinreiga, youâll use Senshinkyaku; If you press left with A after using either Soushou, Retsushinkohou, Senrouga or Saijinreiga, youâll use Houyokushou; If you press A after using either Soushou, Retsushinkohou, Senrouga or Saijinreiga, youâll use Suieijin.
If you press A after using Souha youâll use Shunka and restart the tier.
Pressing B while attacking with A will make the character use itâs Style Shift attack and then let you combo it with the attack you want. Pressing A while attacking with B will make the Character use itâs Style Shift attack and then start the combo from the start of the tier.(Example: [press ??B] > Majinken [press B] > Meizanpuu [press A] > Style Shift [press A] > Shunka [press ??A] > Senshinkyaku [press B] > Style Shift [press ??B] > Majinken) Of course you shouldnât be able to do such a big combo unless you are in Arles Rise, soâŚ

Just to revive the thread: Idolmaster and Miku Hatsune in ToG. Itâs probably DLC though. (Does Wii even have DLC? I already forgot)
And Iâm not surprised with the Miku costume. I always thought Sophie looked like her.
No Free Run = WHAT THE FUCK.
Itâs more â2Dâ than the last 3 games now.
There is free run, it just consumes a shit load of CCâŚKouli from the tales forum is streaming
he plans to finish the game today.

Cool info.
A question: is there multiplayer? Can there even be multiplayer considering the combat view?
Dr. B is âmultiplayerâ in the sense that heâs many kinds of âplayer.â
