I don’t even know why this is being such a heated discussion. Last Fencer I got by fluke for Mystic Arte’ing Duke’s 2nd form. I mean, shit, I didn’t really work hard for that shit, but I got Glory anyway. Being a skill that’s so easily acquired makes Yuri simply better than any of the characters when he gets it. Guardian Field is probably one of the best moves in the game since most characters when hit by it are locked in it and it heals. Yuri also has a very strong mystic arte that doesn’t really leave him with post-lag like Raven’s Blast Heart.
I just don’t think Raven has the same kind of damage output that Yuri has. I mean Yuri can increases the amount of his normal strikes by just about more than double and his multi-hitting, tension business is off the charts. The only person I would say is a match for Yuri is Rita. Because mages are broken and she can fly. But, seriously, I was surprised to see this shit when I came in here.
It honestly didn’t seem that heated until Serpent went off for basically no reason at all. So some one disagrees on which character is better, who the hell cares?

let’s not overlook the fact that the roar attack will ALWAYS stun. and if he hits you with it again, it will ALWAYS STUN YOU AGAIN. i remember that dude hitting me with that shit like 4 times in a row.
I didn’t really care, but this kid just kept going on and on and on about it. I hadn’t mentioned it for something like 10 pages, I made maybe 1 or 2 quick posts on it and that was that. This guy comes back with it over and over again, and uses those gay ass emoticons too that really piss me off.

As for the third form of the last boss, I was able to take him out at around level 75 (IIRC). The main thing is he’s gonna keep spamming the fuck out of Guardian Frost at low damage, so when you get him down hit him with everything you’ve got before he goes into Overlimit again. I was able to off him at that point with concentrated attacks from everybody and a Savage Wolf Fury from Yuri. I was pissed that I didn’t get the Secret Mission for that one because he survived the Mystic Arte with like, 1500 HP left.
i was wrong actually i was 71 yuri 69 everyone else. it was just a matter of being less scrubby, and being more strategic. i completely forgot about those treats too. funny thing though, no hint of guardian frost or Brave Vesperia came from him at all, it was all healing circles, healing circles that it comletely stuffed with Final Gale.(the blue text is for the sake of spoilers, though it actually isn’t but u know)
So now there’s this EX New Game. im not sure if i really wanna do it, but i want to watch all the skits i missed and get the titles i missed, which means i at least have to play up until at least i get to nam cobanda isle, which is like 20 hours or so…
I really like this game but I don’t know whether you’d want to get a replay in so soon. Right now my Xbox has Lost Odyssey in it, and I was playing that a bit. I have NG2 and SCIV to mess around with as well, but LO will probably be my next focus. And then maybe a replay of Vesperia.
Besides equipping the item that lets you earn an extra 20% grade, is there an easier way to earn grade besides battles? After looking at all the things I’d want for “new game ex”, I’d need like 20k
Pick Rita. Put the skill that makes her do one damage on. Tell everyone else to do nothing. Find a group of about 8 enemies or so who are not resistant to water. Activate overlimit and keep doing tidal waves, activating each time it runs out so that they keep getting comboed.
After about 15-30 minutes you’ll get at least 1k grade or so. I forget exactly how much, but it’s a pretty good about. Play it on hard mode and have dice. If you have blue dice it’ll be even more.
I didn’t really bother doing this, but it does work.
Given that most anime is terrible AND it’s probably just going to be a formulaic vessel to promote the Tales series, I’m thinking it will be baaaaaaaaaad.
