I did it with everyone, it’s pretty easy especially with broken-ass Rita (“Blah blah blah, Tidal Wave!”) and Yuri.

If you’re at the end of the game, try resting at an inn a few times then coming back. Thats what worked for me when I was having the same problem
I can’t beat it with Yuri. I lose way too much time on the 79 and 80 I think it was. The only way I can see Yuri beating this easily is with Glory or at a high level so that he never takes hit stun. Otherwise, he has no crowd control, and everyone just ignores his combos anyway.
In theory Yuri sounds like a good character, until you realize that every boss enemy will simply just ignore his combos so he can’t really do anything. I remember doing a mystic art on Flynn, and he just hit me out of it after the first hit. So I guess he can do combos against regular enemies…but everyone else can kill them just as easily.
I actually like Raven better than Rita now. Aside from the fact that he can heal, attack long range and short range, he can infinite with wind havoc easily, and stopping time just gives him that much more of an edge.
My Yuri has all 3 Shining Fangs ( and I spam it) and Crushing Eagle for crowd control. After all he was the person I beat 100-man melee with. I have Guardian Field mapped to a shortcut just in case.
3 Shining Fangs? I have the regular and the altered one, how are you getting a third?
I’m guessing you have Glory, or are at high enough of a level that nothing stuns. Otherwise I don’t see how Yuri’s melee is “easy.” I also don’t see how he’s a better character than Raven or Rita, since bosses can not jump out of magic attacks.
I just don’t see what Yuri does that can be better than what Rita and Raven do.
Yuri has Glory. He was pretty good before then, but Glory is what makes him really stupid.
How do I get those elevators in the final dungeon to activate? I made it to The Staircase, then went all the way back down looking for a trigger, and didn’t find anything.

Right. I should mention specific move names. Basically yeah:
Shining Fang -> Shining Dragon Fang -> Shining Fang -> Shining Fang Drop puts you in overlimit like auto.
I first beat the 100-man melee with Yuri around Level 55-59 or so if that works as a gauge for you.
I used the setup you have and you are right, that’s gotta be the best combo in the game. In addition, I just used overlimits on that specific pair of characters. I realized there is no point to me just not using them. With the Mystic Arts, I was able to actually kill you know who in time as well. Without them, I just don’t think he does quite enough damage.
I still think Yuri’s a fairly weak character though, but I admit there is some degree of fun to using him.
i was at level 64 and ran through 100 man melee without glory or any real setup, i just spammed azure alot and ran away when it got heated

Yuri can own up half the motherfuckers in there with just Destruction Field. Use Ghost Wolf to get behind people, then Dragon Swarm them in the back, and use Final Gale/Azure Storm for distance attacks. He crushes that shit without Glory, let alone with it. Spammage of Ghost Wolf/Destruction Field/Dragon Swarm pretty much guarantees victory.
Also, Yuri can combo the fuck out of bosses, it’s a matter of using your normal attacks to stun them first and not trying to pull shit when they don’t get stunned. As for Flynn, you can’t do a Mystic Arte on him anyway, he auto-counters with his own if you even activate it.
Raven kinda sucks, he’s not terrible but everyone else can do a lot more shit than him. Except Repede, he’s probably the “worst” character in the game. Yuri and Rita own everything, for obvious reasons.
Most bosses can just ignore combos, especially in the coliseum. It doesn’t matter how many hits I tag on beforehand. And even if it were a matter of them not ignoring it, there’s always other people around anyway to knock me out of moves.
Whatever, we can just say I’m bad at it and leave it at that, I don’t really care. I just know for Raven I wasn’t touched and spent almost the entire time in overlimit, and had a really, really easy time. So far I’ve beaten it with Yuri, Rita and Raven. With Yuri I ran out of time 3-5 times, so obviously I was having trouble dealing enough damage. I did hit Flynn with a mystic arte though I’m fairly certain. With Rita I had to try it 3 times, some enemies are resistant to water and tidal wave is rather worthless against them, also when the bosses activate overlimit they don’t get knocked down so they just run at her and hit her out of stuff. She has a hell of a time building meter and running away, I consider it more luck than anything else with beating it with her.
Hopefully Estelle goes better, I think she will since she has some good physical attacks and very high defense and magic defense, so she should be okay even without meter. I’m not sure what I’ll do for Judith or Repede, as I haven’t really used them. They should be decent, Repede seems to have some crowd control, and Judith seems to have good mobility. Actually both have good mobility overall.
Qedit-I’ve been playing the game on hard, I’ll drop it down to normal for the characters I have left to do. Actually Estelle I will probably keep it on hard, as I think she’s a good character.
Edit-I dropped it down to normal and it was a breeze with Estelle. I don’t know if it’s worth trying again with Yuri and Rita on Normal, but I think maybe that was the reason I was having trouble with it.
Serpent, bosses were walking out of my combos too.
I really really like crushing eagle. I thought it was trash-- but it lifts knocked down enemies back up to standing.
Beating it with Estelle was almost no task because she has the 2nd highest PD in the game. She has like no combos, but you can live off Marche Waltz and Delight Roll. With Judith I had to be a little stronger because she relies on her combos a lot and if she’s being hit on of them, well, she gets abused.
Yeah I started using crushing eagle too, the major thing is off knockdown but also it’s a great one hit to activate burst or mystic artes off of. I think Shining Eagle might work even better, I was using that before. I stopped using Yuri about a third of the way through the game because he is fairly boring, especially before he gets the tension skills, which I didn’t get for a loooong time.
For me she had the highest by far. I assume for you Yuri has the highest. Probably on normal I’d be okay with Yuri, although he might still have problem with magic.
The thing with Judith though, it seems like most of her combos are air combos, so it should be harder for her to get hit out of the air. I haven’t really used her though so I’m not sure, but just looking at her skill setup, and a few times with the computer using her. All I have left now are Judith, Karol and Repede. Should be okay, although it’ll probably be insanely boring.
The problem with Judith is that only one of her moves launch and her gatling is mad slow. To get maximum damage you’ll want to do max hits on the ground, but by the time you want to launch they hit you out of your launcher or gain super armor by attacking and thus you fail to launch them. She’s especially useless against bosses in overlimit. You’ll probably (if you’re a low-level Judith) have the most problem with Gauche and Droite. They fuck shit up.
I haven’t bothered finishing the coliseum for everyone, it’s just really boring. I did get around to beating the game though. Now the secret dungeon is left, and then fighting the final boss again. I assume I’ll check grade shop and restart in a week or so.

Just got Azure Storm. How do Altered Artes work in combos? I couldn’t link to anything after it and the only thing I could link TO it was a basic combo.
You’ll get Super Combo as a skill, which let you toss them in basically w/e.
Trouble is, most of the altered arts have a knock-back which makes arcane moves whiff afterwards. Only thing that I found that actually combos is shining fang drop, which is cool because that move is great anyway.
