You have to have Limit Duo, you get it automatically when Judy joins you for the first time.
Just realized it (lol) and got the 3rd OL gauge. Now I just need a overlimit quartetā¦
Got Over-limit level 4, beat all giganto monsters, and only need 2 more fell arms (inside final dungeon). Also got lots of attachments for characters.
If I accidentally created an extra save, is there any way to delete it without deleting my main save?
fell arms
[details=Spoiler]Is the only way to power up the fell arms by fighting Dukeās 3rd form? (meaning you can only use them powered up on the next play-though)
[/details]
i wont question it since u seem to have knowledge of character archtypes over me, but its new to me, so i enjoy her presence. i think its also funny how pretty much the whole cast screws with her and winds her up.
and continuing on yuri, its not just the things that you describe him which are true. his decisions and how he handles things in the game, as well as how he sees the world makes him a great character that you actually wants you to keep digging into his personality.
Fell Arms
Spoiler
Yes, the power-up only applies after defeating the third boss form. No, you canāt use them in the EX New Game, you just continue in the previous file you beat the game with, with the cleared data and then the weapons will power-up. The weapon power will reset if you go to EX new game.
Pretty weak.
Holy shit, glory is a mad broke skill.
Yeah, it is. And this is Namco ānerfingā Glory, since in Tales of the Abyss EVERY CHARACTER had it, as opposed to just Yuri in Vesperia.
Iām trying to open the 100 man melee and Iāve been doing the sidequest but those 2 guys donāt show up in zaude where you fought yeager so I can defeat them. Iāve already seen the scene at mt temza with raven. Any ideas?
getting letters of challenge
Spoiler
Try going to Capua Torim and see if a scene triggers there. It should be in the middle of town, where those two big brick houses you canāt go into are.
I know Iām super behind compared to the rest of you, butā¦
Bat Company
[details=Spoiler]That āPterodonā boss or whatever heās called was actually a pretty cool boss. Both mechanically and in that whole ābelieving that itās a threat to the partyā thing I talked about earlier. I especially like the whole split up and regroup mechanic it has (despite being a total rip off of Castlevaniaās Bat Company ), and how, when it splits up, you can prevent it by regrouping by killing the Master Bat. I presume you can also defeat it by beating its combined form.
Those Caster Bats were rough, though. Wind Blade isnāt a problem, but SPLASH is brutal because you canāt just outrun it. I see why they gave us an Aquamarine in the dungeon earlier, and Iām glad I voiced my opposition to selling the Poison Charm. We lost that fight once. After, my cousin controlled Rita and focused on Tractor Beaming the combined boss and eventually the master bat, and meanwhile I (as Yuri) and my brother (as Karol) ran around with the sole purpose of interrupting Splash. Estelle was our CPU healer with the Aquamarine equipped. (Weāre playing on Hard, btw; just to save my pride a littleā¦)
That boss was awesome. It may sound silly to sing the praises of what yāall probably consider just some minor boss but I really like how it was done. It had elements of a WoW raid boss, but without the ridiculousness associated with that type of boss; it was an intense fight that really made us run around for the victory without feeling unbeatable. And, again, it actually made me believe I needed a PARTY to win. Please donāt tell me I need a party to beat those two little girl minions that the bat boss batted asideā¦[/details]
My brother (SMS Team, for anyone whoās curious) uses Karol heavily in battle and I kinda like his skill set. Nice Aid Smash is what Lukeās Guardian Field SHOULD have been; if like 7 enemies gang up on me (and mobs seem to love Yuri) and Iām running away hurt, SMS will plant a Nice Aid Smash in my way. I run into it and get healed (and the window for getting healed is pretty large). Plus it heals Karol himself.
I like Karol as a character so far, actually. An actual coward with redeeming qualities who isnāt just comic relief. Very refreshing.
i pretty much got rocked on the final boss of the game, so iāll just go ahead and take care of the few sidequests i actually can accomplish thanks to this games ridiculous lack of leniency.
also i love the skits in this game, theyāre fucking bonkers. do all tales games have skits like these? this is the first game in the franchise i played, and iām kinda happy it was.
There have been skits since Symphonia at the least. I didnāt play the harder to find ones so I donāt know exactly when they were introduced.
Destiny started the trend, though our version doesnāt have them (except for a late game unlockable or a Game Shark code, forget which). In Destiny, they happened on the map screen as you walked around, apparently.
Iām glad Namco-Bandai is making sure our skits are voiced. Itās nice not to have to read. Legendia also has voiced skits, but a) most of the second half is not voiced, and b) itās one of the worst games ever made. Symphonia: Dawn of the New World also has voiced skits if what I heard while playing it at PAX was any indication (though no GC controller support means no purchase).
I think Symphonia is where skits became totally mainstream. They stand as one of the Tales seriesā good recurring trends.
That did it, thanks
Itās Super Center Awesome, thatās what it is!
I like how Karol plays like a little combo of Presea and Aniseā¦ but unlike Anise, Karol is not a back-stabbing bitch whoāll betray the party and not apologize after for itā¦ Or am I thinking of that skank, Shirley?
Youāre thinking of both of those motherfuckers, Shirley AND Anise. Luke should have stabbed her in the face for talking all that shit after Akzeriuth only for her to be a backstabbing piece of garbage.
Also, in case you folks missed it Yuri gets Guardian Field (that actually heals himself as well) later on.
They were all bitches in Abyss, thatās why the game is so terrible. It has a good battle system, is kinda buggy, but terrible characters and weak story.
Anyway, how do I get to the secret dungeon in Vesperia? I know Iāve seen mention of it, but I donāt actually know where to go for it. Iāve been messing around with sidequest stuff lately, itāll be awhile until I tackle what is likely the final dungeon. Iām trying to revisit pretty much every town and dungeon, although I might forego manor of the wicked, egothor forest and ghastforost, as I donāt think there was much there.
I liked abyss, but it feltā¦ rushed? Too many techincal problems (god, that fucking world map) made it a pain in the ass to play.
And the story was kinda retarded.
ā¦and I didnāt like any of the characters.
But still a fun game.
You can only access the dungeon on your second playthrough.
Now for some questions Iāve got:
How long does it take fenrir to respawn? I need the great wolf fang since I apparently didnāt get one beforeā¦
Iām trying to get the last fencer, and Iām hearing that the easiest way to get it is by using the 100 chip machine on Nam Cabanda Island to get the needed star gems. Those chips kind of are expensive, is there an easy way to get chips? (poker, perhaps?)
You can actually get it in your first playthrough (meaning you donāt need to go to EX New Game)
Secret dungeon
[details=Spoiler]You need to meet with the Sage in the Phaerohās Crag where he creates the illusion of Yormgen the Heartland Town. He needs to give you a book or something or other, then go to Dahngrest. When you enter you should be treated to an auto-scene to how some mountains collapsed in the West. Fly there to get a scene and the dungeon.
I think there is missable moment where you have to fit the sage in the Phaerohās crag at some point in the game. I think. Go check for yourselves.[/details]
