The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

In all fairness, the game won’t work very well as a paperweight either

Make sure you add the SFIV directory to your antivirus’ exceptions list.

Download CCleaner and run a registry sweep.

How’s your HDD free space? Virtual memory settings?

Make sure all your motherboard’s drivers are up to date - and also check your disc drive’s drivers.

Thx for the advice ill check my motherboard drivers and my disc drive drivers also I havnt tried that yet.

i don’t understand why they just don’t release the add-ons free on the PC. they’re free to get from other sources without repercussions and most people probably already have them on their 360 or PS3 versions.

wont be getting mine till august…sigh

Dlc

If by add-ons you mean DLC / costumes, you can unlock them for free. The data is already on the game CD, you aren’t downloading the costumes, you’re downloading the right to use them. The download unlocks the alt. costumes for you. If you google search you can find out what you need to edit, either in the registry or one of the game files and you can unlock all the alt’s. I saw the instructions a while ago, and played a guy online 4 days after release that was rocking alt costumes. Check it out.

I have officially given up on SF4 PC.

xbox live…I HATH RETURNED TO YOU!

is there any way to copy your save file to another computer where you have it installed?

Anyone planning to run SFIV PC on the new Alienware M17x? That is one hell of a machine if configured properly!

Street Fighter 4 is infuriating when you’re new to this game like me.

SF4 isn’t a console port, it was developed on PC. All Capcom’s games are these days (Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 5 are too).

Anyway, the reason your card doesn’t work is because it doesn’t have Pixel Shader 3.0. You’ll have to get a new video card.

The save file is under my documents/capcom. Copy that and move it over. I think you have to use the same GFWL account though.

I have the PS3 version, but I intend to buy the PC version as well. Do the games differ considering online play (apart from this Windows Live bleh) or timing/lag (I always have problems switching between LCD HDTV and good old SD)?

Is it alright if I add some of you guys for some matches?

gaming laptops ick. those tend to be really heavy and overheat easily. if you’re just using it as a desktop replacement, for 1700 you can get a hell of a desktop instead.

DST i7 laptops > Alienware. But I wouldn’t recommend a gaming laptop, they all over heat.

Would a slightly hot running cpu 65 degrees cause sf4 to freeze

Player match connectivity is awesome as long as you’re playing someone in your country. I’m Midwest and I’ve played people on the East Coast and in Canada with no lag.

Trying to find a quick match still sucks though.

PC version is cross platform with XBoxlive correct??

No, it is not. (Hopefully that’s a “yet”.)
