The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

i have played the game for about 10mins and it was running good but then my frame started to drop a lot and then getting up again to 60 for 10-15 seconds and then dropping again.

Its a weird problem and i dont know how to fix it

You could try lowering the settings and seeing if it still does it. It may be specific levels or character models that are taxing your GPU more than others.

I had that problem yesterday, i just alt tabbed and closed firefox and msn, and the problem was fixed.

If it’s a laptop, try with it plugged in and any power saving features turned off. Also make sure all your drivers are upto date, if it still does it try without Vsync.

That feature didn’t seem to work on the benchmark, but on the actual game variable frame rate will prevent the game from skipping any frames, which will make it slow down on some systems. Fixed frame rate will skip frames when necessary to keep the game running at normal speed.
In my (relatively old) system there’s quite a noticeable improvement when setting it to Fixed, enough to make it 100% playable without toning down the default graphic settings.

Replays are fine if you actually own the game. But what if you wanna share your battles with everyone, including folks that don’t own the game? It just would have made more sense for them to have put in a way to record in full video. It’s not like we’re dealing with an emulator here like the ZSNES from 10 years ago that required the emulator to watch the videos. This is a full blown commercial title, I expect a bit more. Even if it means I’ve gotta pay $10 for DLC to make perfect vids.

Even if replay is used, FRAPS will not be an option. And I certainly hope folks don’t end up having to rely on camcorders.

This.
Actually, I think that alt+tabbing on vista/windows 7 OS could be the reason. It wouldn’t be the first game that drops its FPS after alt+tab…

Benchmark score, can’t wait

its realy weird…i have let 2 cpu playing each other in various best of 7 matches and everything runs ok.Then i start a training mode and i dont push any buttons, after a while(2-3mins) my fps start dropping…also, if i close the game and lunch it again my fps are still low(about 15-30)but if i reboot my comp i have again stable 60 fps…

im on xp and i have every shit(msn etc) off

aah the sweet aroma and the bitter taste of pc gaming

How does this affect online play? If someone has the framerate set to ‘variable’, does the game slow down for both players? I sure hope not. Frame-skipping should be forced when you go online.

Why do people post scores with Vsync turned off with 90+FPS basically fabricating an exaggerated score? The real test of a rig is to leave it on.

My thoughts exactly. There’s nothing like having a second cause for lag - CPU grinding might just become the new lag switching.

Playing the game with the frame limit off does NOT make the actual game move in fast forward. That’s just a benchmark feature. It’s like that in all benchmarks.

Feature…what? My point is that anyone can turn v-sync off and achieve really high scores on the benchmark. But as we all know that causes tearing etc. The real test of our rigs is to see what the score is with V-Sync on.

Wasn’t directed at you. How well other people’s rigs work doesn’t really concern me. <_<;

Ah I see. Personally I just like to know what setups work the best for optimum playing performance.

BlazBlue has lobbies, and you can spectate, and it works perfectly fine. SF4 on the other hand has NEITHER. GTFO CAPCOM, add it to the PC version.

ahahah

I cant belive it,it has something to do with my stick(madcatz standard) and my computer.I have “played” an half hour with the keyboard and it works perfect,no frames drop and stuff.I think is something that can be fixed but i dont know how lol.

I was thinking the same thing the moment I began playing BlazBlue online…:encore:
