I ordered it on Steam last night – I agree that there should be a mid-level background option or the ability to use separate character/shading/shadow levels for the background objects. (Though soft shadows on the dog are pretty cool.)
I would just like Capcom to add the ability to record videos from within the game. FRAPS kills the frame rate by half. Now that YouTube has HD video, the 720p looks pretty darn good. I say forget that replay system, that’s junk. And I’d rather not have to use a camcorder either, that’s worse then FRAPS IMO seeing as how most of the vids recorded that way pick up on button pressed and people talking.
I would pay $10 for the DLC if it meant I could record my fights at full screen without losing any frame rate.
maybe steam/capcom should implement saved replays after every match like 2df?
Sounds great, unfortunately it would cost them too much in bandwidth to do that more then likely. Which is why just adding a really good built in AVI recorder would be better. That way we could choose what compression it ultimately has and where it’ll be uploaded to.

the game is a lot more different from ST than ive expected. The sizes of the chars on the screens remind me of sfa3, ill have to relearn to perform the moves, every time i tried to cancel a chain combo with a dp, i get a shinkuu hadouken. And you can do the dp with df,df punch rofl.
I liked the surpreses afterall, a new beggining. ill have some good time with that game if i get able to paly online decently.
btw, i hope i can integrate my dvd version with the steam, so i wont have to dl the game.

Check the .ini files in notepad for any options that you might be able to change to have characters and modes unlocked.
I doubt online achievements etc can be cracked, but just local unlocks should be just a matter of changing a few registry entries. Easy breezy…
AVI recorder wouldn’t work. The drain on the video card would be far too much.
It wouldn’t cost Capcom or Valve or YOU any bandwidth for a replay system that simply records button inputs of a match… unfortunately, I have a feeling that system might actually be patented, which is why you don’t see it used liberally.
Bah, I call BS. You can record HD video in GTA4 which is a MUCH larger game with a crap load more going on at 60FPS. Case in point, a GTA4 video I uploaded. If they did a good job with the app, it wouldn’t cause frame rate issues.

I would watch your video, but my entire GPUs currently being used for productive things. -_o
I can play ok (55-60 fps) at 1024x768, with settings at medium. Quality is enough for me
BUT when i tryed all graphics options to the maximum, the game don’t frame skip, but instead waits more for each frame to finish, in my computer runs at 30fps, and it is like playing in slow motion
If found this really useful to test things out in practice mode, the things we “dont know why happen” or try new alternatives, new frame traps, or try what is a good way to wakeup in some situations…
It is fun because you see everything, see if you have time to grab or to jab after a move is blocked, or if you jump…
I think we will find more things about the game now that we can play at half speed and try if something is possible with perfect accuracy and timming. New combos and setups are on the way!!
So I did the benchmark test. At 800x600 and everything on low I will get 60 frames… Still better than the console versions. What is the arcade speed or frame rate? 62?
I would hope not.
It would be cool to watch the animation in slow motion, even in 3S and ST, and especially 3S because of all the animation we overlook. And this would be great with 2DF style replays where the inputs are recorded and played in real-time instead of a video which may have unsharp images in slow motion but I could be wrong.
Extensive director mode for replays would be cool, especially for tournaments.
they should just have a 2df style thing which records all your matches
Replays should be an obvious thing by now, it’s not like they have to record VIDEO. They just save your inputs to your local drive and then you play them using the game. A shame this didn’t make it.
Anyway, I’m sure someone has already unlocked everything, so be nice and post the savegame somewhere so people like me can play seth without all the boring grind.
