The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

How are you guys dealing with input lag on v-sync? I was thikning of getting it on pc, but am concerned with that…does the fixed frame rate option create any input lag of its own?

no input lag at all for me.

This is my Benchmark score.

Ah i just remember a thread that got locked and a guy had the similar problems so i assumed it was an ati related problem, maybe it’s not. Either way the game keeps hanging and either a) causes the monitor to turn off and become unresponsive but sounds of the game can still be heard so its running but not displaying, then i have to manually restart the pc or b) the game hangs and the monitor flicks then an error comes up from the catalyst drivers that the vpu became unresponsive and vpu recover kicked in, then the game runs again. So yeh its weird, and to me sounds like a graphics prob, i have an agp card maybe its some compatibility issue or something.

is it a LCD/TFT ?
what specs?
could be a problem with the refresh rate if it’s a CRT.

Could also be a drivers problem… Or just a card problem… YOUR card, not ati.

p4 3ghz, hd 3850, 4 gb ram. Im running the monitor and game at 75hz on a sony 21 inch crt.

im quite upset about the fact that the game slows down when someone with low fps play with you, instead of him droping frames. Thats really annoying, once u dont know he have a shitty pc unless ure in the match already

yea they should fix this first and add lobby+spectate like ggpo, omg capcom…

Anyone figure out why if you turn on AA not cq AA or whatever it is, but regular AA, the screen goes black but you can still hear the game. I don’t have the problem in other games. Just the other day I played demi god with AA maxed out and it ran fine. Nvidia chipset with newest drivers btw.

I doubt that AGP cards are incompatible as such, but they’re generally very slow due to low bus speed bottleneck compared to pci-e and pci-e2. Sounds like you’re running a pretty old rig.

Yeh its old but it has pretty much the best vga available on the old agp, and i look at my gpu useage whilst playing sf4 and it uses around 25% of the gpu apparently. The cpu is definitely the bottleneck, so it runs it fine when its running, its just crashing a bit.

It is some kind of bug. It seems hardware based AA (CQ) is not affected. You should use CQ anyway as it is a ‘free’ AA (much less fps damage)- especially if you are running at high resolution where AA tends to be not as necessary.

Does anyone know if I will retain my save game and unlocks if i reinstall the game?

Just preordered on Steam. Good time to call off sick at work? Lol. >_<

Crap, didn’t get mine today. I guess it’ll be in the mail tomorrow. But I don’t feel too bad, that’s still kinda on release day since that’s when the US gets it. Still though, should have just ordered online from the start…

How’s the online? Lots of Ken in PC ver too?

Havent seen a single Ken.
Only played a few matches though.

As a new user to PC (mac person here), sorta wanted to know the same thing. Will i be able to use my hard copy of the game and install it into my Mac Pro and Macbook Pro and take the game file and place it in each computer? Or just best to use the cheat to unlock everything on each computer?

Yes, if you uninstall the game it will keep back your save settings and online profile. I know this because i installed the cracked version a day before i got my legitimate version.

Well I’m uploading a 720p FRAPS video to youtube at the moment. It was recorded @ 30FPS but the videos still look great. I’ll post it here for everyone to watch when it’s done uploading. This is with all settings maxed, 2xAA/8xAF.

EDIT: Ok, the video is still being processed for the HD option to show up, but it’s watchable
