Just like a lot of other people mentioned, the Desert Eagle is more of a novelty than anything else. You don’t need a .50 round. A 45 ACP round will drop someone just the same and the handguns that fire it aren’t as retarded heavy as a Desert Eagle. I don’t believe in the 9mm round. The M9 is nothing more than a toy and I will never understand why the military dropped the 1911 for it.

if your neighbor is dangerous the solution isn’t to spend a bunch of loot on assault weapons, spend those stacks on moving to a better neighborhood. as ether said, if your hood is really that bad and people know that you have that shit in your crib they’ll just break and take it from you and even if they don’t the AR15 under your bed isn’t gonna help you much if 3-4 niggas with shotguns kick in your door while your loafing around your living room.

I actually just shot it tonight i let my buisness partner borrow it because he was down at the shop by himself so i put a round threw to show him…its a 9mm with barely any kick back at all…easy as hell to clean…and intimidateing…if anyone rolls up on me at my stores and i whip it out they turn really pail and run…im a big time nerd but its funny to see folks when they find out im a gun nut >_<

first off, if you live in an area where you need an assault rifle to feel safe, move to a new area. Criminals are arrogant and stupid, and won’t think twice about breaking down your door, even if you have a rifle. They figure you will get some of them, but not all of them, and they are right. Unless you are the damn punisher, there is no reason why you would want to be in that situation. Also, what do you think will happen if one or two break in and you do kill them. You are just going to have more of their angry friends coming the next night. Hurting someone isn’t glamorous or fun, even if they are trash.
secondly, a rifle it not a home defense weapon. A shotgun is, a handgun with glaser rounds is, but not something that will shoot through your wall and kill your neighbors.
third, where do you live in florida (assuming you are close to where that gun range is) that is a terrible ghetto?

Have you had a chance to fire one of the Tavors yet? thoughts? It looks like a great design, but I haven’t talked to anyone who has actually had their hands on one.
They’re legal. You just have to get them through a Class 3 FFL dealer. You have to pay a $200.00 BATF Tax in addition to the cost of the weapon. MP5’s are very expensive, be prepared to spend in the thousands if not tens of thousands. When you buy a Class 3 type firearm you will be subject to storage requirements and inspection visits from the BATF. I’m guessing that Class 3 dealers will help you out during this process. Find a Class 3 dealer in your state so that they can help you with all the paperwork.
For home defense, I would just like to say what I always said about it - you don’t want to shoot up your house, damage any of your property, or kill anyone living in your house by accident. Get a shotgun and if you hear an intruder, make sure they can hear you pump that shit. The pump sound of a shotgun is such an intimidating sound that I don’t think anyone would stay around to see if the homeowner is bullshitting or not.
I’m not a gun expert but I think that you need to know a few things. If you’re looking for a gun for self defense, a full auto rifle is not going to be the best choice. The ammunition will go through walls and every shot after the 2nd or 3rd will be inaccurate. Full auto looks cool in movies, but IMO it’s useless in a home defense situation.
For home defense, like Ducky says, I suggest that get yourself a Pump-Action shotgun with an 18" barrel and some buckshot ammo. If the intruders are not intimidated (and run away) by the sound of you cocking your weapon then the buckshot will definitely take them down.
I own a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag with a 24" barrel. It’s a turkey gun. I’m looking for an 18" barrel to ‘convert’ it for home defense. That thing is too big right now. Anyone know where I can find an 18" barrel for this beast of a shotgun?

I wouldn’t even fuck with buckshot, personally. I mean, it’s gonna be fairly close quarters if you do shoot someone in your own home, birdshot is more than enough to drop someone. It won’t completely destroy your belongings and your home as much as buckshot would, but I would definitely hesitate on pulling any street sweeper action anyway.

I have a ladyfriend of mine thats in the ISRAELI military thats shot the TAVOR…she said she prefers it over the others…I dont know who in the US military is useing the TAVOR but I heard rumors that its being tested somewhere possibly AFGANISTAN or IRAQ…ive never shot it but for it to replace the open bolt UZI and the ultra realiable M-16…im sold…the built in site on the barrel is a big sell for me also…

Actually i recently merged my buisnesess with another buisness and my partner has a client that is a very big realestate guy and when he goes on vacations his security guards roll with TAVORs…i found out who the guys security guard is imma get to the bottom of it and find if they really have them or not
No I understand what you guys are saying and your completely right, The thing about having an AR for home defense Was more of a just for looks thing. Bullet penetration is no joke this is why so far I’ve never been tempted to fire outside of a Firing range.
And yes where I live right now is very bad, and your right I should move away. As soon as I get the money to do that Trust me I plan to.
For the most part I just wanted an AR and the other guns I listed off to have at my own leisure for the Firing Range. Having your own guns and Ammo is much cheaper. (in the long run anyways.)
But the thing about Me playing too much CS, that was a bit insulting as I don’t even play CS. Not anymore anyways. (Haven’t played it for years.) But I never planned On firing any of these in an urban setting.
My exp. with guns for the most part has been at the shooting range as I wouldn’t count VG’s as experience. These things ain’t toys as the games portray them. There is no little reset button in life.
For the most part I’ve just been talking about the guns that interest me. Some I probably won’t even bother buying.

I’ve yet to shoot anyone. I have read that birdshot isn’t powerful enough to take someone out. They could have been wrong though.
Let’s put it this way… buckshot will take down a buck, that’s what it is made for. People have hit deer with their cars at 50MPH+ and the deer can get up and walk away from that sometimes. A human is far more fragile than a big ass buck is.
I might not believe in the 9mm round (I don’t think anyone in the military who has been issued a 9mm before believes in it, I know I didn’t) but even a 9mm can drop someone. Sure, the adrenaline might kick in and it might take more than one shot, but against an unarmored human, it will fuck you up. The shit will hurt, it’s not a BB gun or an airsoft gun. Against someone in the military wearing armor (or even not wearing armor, just another soldier in general) it might lack the stopping power to stop them from killing you or running away… but when dealing with a home intruder, most times it’s just a random dude.
A shot from a shotgun at close range has the potential to kill you even if you are wearing body armor simply from the force of the shot. It will shatter your ribs. The goal is to defend your house without destroying your belongings… you let loose a round of buckshot in your house and you might cause more damage than you stood to lose in the first place. Destroying furniture, walls, etc. Not that birdshot is that much better, but I mean, you aren’t trying to snipe the dude from 50m out. You are in close quarters in your home.
You don’t even want to chance randomly killing someone either, IMO. Any gunshot hit is potentially fatal… it’s not like you can just walk the shit off, they will catch the guy even if he runs when he shows up to the hospital, if he makes it there before he bleeds to death. I don’t know of any crook so hard that they will pull bullets out of their own flesh and cauterize their own wounds to avoid going to the hospital. You just need to stop him, not kill him.
On a related note, that is why we use smaller rounds in the military in the first place. Killing is great and all, but a hit will do a lot of tissue damage and definitely drop someone even if it doesn’t kill him. You get and hit and they die, you take one enemy off the battlefield. You hit someone and they don’t, he can’t fight anymore and his buddies need to rescue him, so effectively you’ve taken three enemies off the battlefield - him and the two guys it will probably take to drag his ass out. They don’t save him fast enough and he will die from the bleeding anyway.
