Slow but alive. Still, that’s like asking when SoRR is coming out because at the rate that Sonic 2 HD is going, it wont be out until 2 years from now. The same as SoRR.
…when is that damn game coming out? They haven’t updated the blog in 2 months almost.
To be honest, rather than remake 1-3K, I’d rather they just actually try to go down 3K’s path again and actually try to surpass its scale o_o.
Seriously. It’s like they thought what they did for 3K can never be achieved again so they don’t even try. The Advance games came closest by expanding the playable cast, but the huge and dynamic level design, especially between different characters, has yet to be even closely replicated IMO.
I would love to see Sega take a chance and release a new 2D HD sonic game on XBL and PSN. Considering how often they put sonic games in their compilation, they must know that retro sonic still sells. Hell, they could re-release sonic 1-3k with some nice additions to test the waters on how the gaming community would take to a possible full fledged sequel (finanically).
Didn’t Bionic Commando: Rearmed sell better than 3D Bionic Commando?
oh how I wish. I don’t even know if Sega still has 2d development team in their ranks any longer. Another problem being that they already released most of the OG titles on Live/VC so I know the fans would probably buy it but what is Sega going to do to justify people buying them over again in such a short time? I think the games have been spammed at least 3-4 times within the past 3 years on the PSP, 360, PS3, and Wii.
I’d dare say that even at 10 bucks that’s probably a little bit too much. And nope haven’t heard any info on All-star racing. Game is supposed to get released near the beginning of next year so I’d expect more info around TGS.
Any new 2D HD Sonic developed by Dimps will likely devolve into “run really fast and do no real platforming.” Dimps should follow their Sonic Advance 3 formula.
Any new 2D HD Sonic developed by Sonic Team will suck. Hard. Examples of 2D Sonic games developed by Sonic Team: Sonic 1 (which was halfway decent but overshadowed by the STI sequels), and Sonic CD (which was balls to the wall garbage that for some reason garnered a following).
Yes. Anything above -$10.00 (yes, negative) is a ripoff. Yes, I wouldn’t take a copy off someone’s hands unless they paid me $10.01 or greater. No, I’m not even joking. Yes, I would just throw the game in the trash right after.
Dr. B wouldn’t take it if you paid him $1000.00. Dude’s got his principles.
No what they need to do is follow in Sonic 2’s footsteps and ignore pretty much anyone not named Sonic as far playability goes. Yeah Tails is there but he’s just a slightly slower Sonic.
Sonics name is on the Box I want to play as Sonic. Fuck everyone else.
I’ve always strongly believed in The Triple Threat when it comes to sonic games. Speed, versatility, and strength. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Sonic Heroes (you guys don’t talk about that one much around here) would have been a better game if they only focused on them.
I like the Rush style of games too btw. It’s platforming is based on path finding and not exploration. Trust me, timing dashes and knowing when to jump is platforming but it’s all done at high speed.
Truly though, I enjoy playing Sonic 2-3K’s style of gameplay. The mix of speed and platforming exploration is perfect. Sega really needs to just hire someone who can make levels for Sonic to do just that in. If they can do that, they can make an brand new Sonic game in 2.5D. Kinda like how Unleashed is but minus the 3D aspect and with the camera zoomed out a bit more so we can see ahead and behind better.
If every stage was somewhat different (SA2) and had improved modes(race the computer with difficulties ranging from easy to super hard) and an acual balanced story then I would have liked heroes…
unleashed was good…but me and Dr.B dont want good we want the best!!
playing through silver’s story:lame: WHY IS HE SO SLOW…big had a faster start-up speed EVERY employee invovled in this game would be terminated…why does the game need to load twice for a TWO SENTENCE LINE
The only games I can recall a lack of playing as Sonic being an issue were the Adventure series and that’s years ago. The other characters bring optional gameplay variety. Knuckles can break walls and scale walls. Tails can fly. None of this detracts from the game as long as they don’t go the cheap route and make each character’s gameplay into seperate modes.
I see no downside other than a perceived one to having a number of playable characters in well designed worlds that are only fully unlocked with smart usage of their abilities.
If it came down to it, I’d rather a new game suck hard than witness the perverse misunderstanding of a classic.
Glad someone else realizes that Dimps appears to have lost something post-GBA.
I was contemplating which game was worse…BK or 2006 and thinking about it I was upset with BK but I actually finished it. 2006 I just couldn’t bring myself to make it through to the end. I need to stop thinking about the horrible experiences from that game it just makes me rage.
When they focus on making a SONIC game and not a Sonic & Friends and Weird mutations game. I like Sonic unleashed but only for the stages that are REAL Sonic stages AKA the day stages. It’s time to go back to square 1.
SRA is good and if anything it’s more of the same from SR with some extra things. Some people don’t like the vehicle stuff and having to go through the stages repeatedly to get more materials may be annoying but the game on the whole is solid. The only small problem I had with SRA in comparison to SR is I didn’t think the music was as memorable save for ‘BEAT GANGSTA BEAT POP LOCKIN!’
Sonic Unleashed on PS2 is a slightly lower quality Sonic Unleashed on the Wii. That being said they both have the same content and play the same. It’s all going to be dependent on if you can last the werehog sections really but I believe the game should be relatively cheap right now. checks We’re selling it new on the PS2 for 19.99 currently.
The ps2 version was suprisingly good. The graphics are pretty decent except for the water effects which the wii does better, and the frame rates are on par with the wii. Load times are not that bad either. I have the ps2 version, but I also got the ps3 version just for kicks, and was pleasantly suprised. It’s like a new game altogether if you have been playing the next gen versions for a long time.
