Don’t tell me how it ends though…I’ll get to it eventually. Some of this stuff was so stupidly over looked and could have been easily fixed like I said earlier. This game could have easily been an 8.
Good news though is that I’ve been working at 3 different stores this week and the store I worked at today their copies of BK were just chillin there not moving. I want to see how much less this game will sell in comparison to Unleashed.
Okay so there is this “Reach the Goal” level in Misty Lake that unlocks after you beat the main game. Involves a whole bunch of those blue orbs. Can’t figure out for the life of me what to do there, I just keep dying over and over and over.
I’m reading around and hearing something about ‘Legacy’ stages in the game where you don’t play with the sword or something…see if you can find any of them Remy.
also I got a chance to listen to ‘With Me’ and ‘Live Life’ since they were posted up on youtube
With Me:

Live Life:

there’s gotta be a ripped game soundtrack somewhere for all these tracks to be popping up on youtube…
I have the Legacy stage for Titanic Plains. You still carry Caliburn and it still looks like the medieval setting. But it has all the classic Sonic stuff. Dash panels and springs instead of blue fairies, rings instead of yellow fairies, robots instead of underworld knights. Homing attacks will destroy the robots too, you don’t have hit them with the sword. Good stuff.
Short, and really more of a novelty than anything. Neat to see included though. Sometimes I get World Rings from “Secret Rings” at the end of those levels.
Well Sonichuman, you said you wanted to be able to shoot Chaos Blasts as Shadow: you can. Amongst other things, Shadow’s ultimate weapon gives him the ability to shoot Chaos Spears with every sword swing, and hits performed with Soul Surge produce Chaos Blast shockwaves. Blaze’s ultimate weapon adds a fire projectile to her lunge moves and drastically increases the range on some of her attacks. I don’t have Knuckles’ ultimate yet.
I also got all 7 World Rings now, and it unlocked a Crush 40 remix of “7 Rings in Hand”. Not too shabby.
It’s the version of 7 Rings in Hand that’s on the True Blue soundtrack…And that’s actually pretty cool about that with the weapons…Dammit SEGA!
and a dlc for Unleashed is interesting…but the fact that they’re adding more night time stages makes me lift an eyebrow. How many more day time stages are being added in comparison to night?
GT Sonic & the BK review:
5.7
I don’t agree with what they said about the environments…especially considering that they fit the theme where sonic is at and they’re actually pretty well rendered like I mentioned before…but pretty much it’s the same. Sword play dragged this game down into the dirt.
I brought this game but I haven’t started the story mode yet. I thought it would give me an option to use a classic controller at least, but it doesn’t. Since I cant find my nunchuck, and I don’t feel like getting a new one, I put it back in the case. TBH, I only brought the game for the WIFI option (I thought I’d get to pwn ppl in the multiplayer mode online), but apparently that’s only for high scores and mission rankings. :lame:
That’s what I get for not checking up on a game before I buy it.
eh…you already bought it and opened it up…might as well trudge through it lol
Edit:
shivers…I don’t know about you guys but upon watching all 4 of those videos I really felt some of classic sonic gameplay was trickling in there somewhere. I am impressed…very. Especially in the last 2 videos with the way you had to make split second decisions at times…AND IT HAD A LOT MORE PLATFORMING…the camera wasn’t in the way either and it was nice and pulled back to allow you to see what you were doing. That water stage was fucking insane…DO WANT.
Dear Sega,
The next main sonic game you do better be like that...no gimmicks no nothin. I want the next game to be like this or I demand that all of your first born be given up for sacrifice.
Have a nice day!
Thinking about this now…the answer has been so fuckin obvious I don’t even know why I hadn’t thought about it before. I understand Sega has to take a lot of work to make those stages as they are now and they’d like to try to find a way to slow him down without really affecting the pace of the game. Why don’t they add more platforming elements in the game just like in the old games? They had their fast sections that you could just blast through but there were times that you generally had to time jumps and avoid hazards. SA and SA2 speed stages had some platforming in them as well as kept the speed going. That seems to be one thing that they have been getting away from a bit the more they moved into 3d.
unfortunately…just Sega tripping over themselves again. I wonder if there’s a site that checks on sales of games because I want to know where BK is right now…
As I said, Sega’s trying to shake things up before they really use up the possibilities.
Imagine how much depth Black Knight could have had if it was a typical Sonic platformer but utilized the sword as a tool to get around stages with? Plant it in the ground and use it to vault across pits or up into the air, plant it in walls and spring up off of it, do a sword spin instead of Sonic’s insta-shield that also slows your fall a bit. It could still be used for combat too; would just work like Knux’s punching in the Advance games but with enough reach to actually be useful.
Of course, mileage would vary depending on the level design too; but I’d rather have another Unleashed than another Secret Rings.
Hey Reggie, did you get the most recent 2 Sonic comics? It’s pretty awesome that the new series (Sonic Universe) they’re doing is going to be focused more on the side characters and what they’re doing. What do you think of Snively getting ready to not be a punk-ass anymore and turn on Eggman?
Well after taking an RE5-related break, I went back to Sonic BK and got the items to craft Knuckles’ ultimate weapon. I can’t tell for the life of me what it does special. Not that it matters, since Sonic is so much better than everyone else in this game anyway.
