Apparently the people behind the “Were-Sonic” portions of the game have been reading/watching too much One Piece.
Is it too hard to just give me a game about Speed, and leave crappy action out of it?
That Were-Sonic gameplay IMO looks underwhelming.
I love how Weresonic slowly carries the object over to the switch and when he drops it to fight the camera doesn’t move into a good position as he is attack the enemies around him.
I don’t want this slow shit in my Sonic games. I want big ass stages that can be explored and ran through expediently. And I just want Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails to go head to head with Robotnik/Eggman using their super forms. Shit. And don’t anybody give me some crap like “Oh, they don’t have the time or money to focus on those stages you want.” If they can spend the time and money on gay ass stages for Weresonic then they can make a stellar 2.5D Sonic game without that crap.
Again.
Fuck Sega and Sonic Team
It looks a lot better than the last several years’ worth of Sonic offerings, but no way is this ‘oldskool’ Sonic. And I’m actually okay with that… as long as the flow of the game isn’t spoiled with sidequests and gameplay changes (and it looks like that’s exactly the case…)
And good christ I thought Sonic was done with pop-punk shit after Sonic Adv 2. Can’t wait to see the level with rap music.
Geez… Didn’t think WereSonic would be that slow. Such a gay ass soundtrack too.
Speed portions look good. Still no actual platforming though. Night stuff looks like ass. Easily the worst song they’ve come up with too.
Hopes have dropped.
I agree, Were-Sonic looks like crap.
But speed stages still look spot on. Which simply leads to the question yet again of:
"WHAT IN THE FIERY FUCKING HELL IS WRONG WITH SEGA?!"
Those speed stages look perfect. Beyond perfect. They’re exactly what 3D Sonic should’ve been from the start. Why can’t the whole game be like that? Why would they even feel the need to muck up the game with a second type of super crappy-ass gameplay? JUST MAKE SPEED STAGES!!!
Fixed. Love the feeling when you get a perfect flowing run in the 3d games, but they are still marred by mediocre level design with little to no platforming.
The 2.5D parts have plenty of jumping and stage gimmicks, while the behind-the-back parts look to be about effective cornering and dodging. It looks like exactly what I’d expect and want from a 3D Sonic.
Poor internal communications, overemployment of people with little passion for the products, over reliance on cash cows like sonic, other ecognised brands with little consideration for whether the quality matches up to the titles which made these series valuable, too much outsourcing of development, lack of cohesive, unified identity or direction, mishandling of capital, poor distribution, leaking of money in branding and marketing, overpaying for purchases of 3rd party software houses, and a penchant for bad advertisements.
That’s what’s wrong with SEGA.
Sonic Chronicles plays well, however, and although I have yet to play Sonic Unleashed, I’m told it plays well.
Sonic & Mario at the WInter Olympics and SEGA superstars racing could be great games too…
Saw the new trailer.
Look interesting in mute (song sucks so bad), however when I saw sonic turn into a werewolf… holy fuck, it looked so gay!
I’m done with Sonic games.
We’re getting 2d gameplay on a 3d plane with the sensation of speed the genesis titles gave us and srk still manages to bitch and nitpick as usual. Game looks fucking sick and who knows maybe the were sonic parts will be a pleasant break in pace.
No fishing or shard hunting thank god.
This. C’mon, people, there’s nothing to see here. Just Sonic Team failing YET AGAIN.
Wtf, the werewolf stages don’t look that bad at all to me.
Yeah, I know I’ll buy that game. I’ve stuck with the series for a long time, through several better and lesser titles. And the daytime half of this game still looks pretty good.
The Genesis games had speed with platforming. Sonic Unleashed has speed… with platforming being more or less QTEs. I’m still really excited for the game, don’t get me wrong. As far as a Sonic game goes it looks great. From a game design perspective, however, it’s completely lacking from what we’ve seen. I haven’t played the game, and it still has a ways to go. Hopefully SEGA can prove me wrong.
Yeah, they didn’t look bad to me either. Not as cool as the platforming parts, but still pretty nice.
That’s exactly what Sonic Team wants; unwarranted loyalty. Rent it first and save your money. If it sucks, and you don’t buy it, you send a very clear message to Sonic Team. Which is the only hope this series has of ever becoming better, until I earn enough money to buy Sega and can Sonic Team.
Damn the Were-Sonic hate is strong. I like it and I’m more excited to play it more than ever. The speed looks fucking insane. This might bring some oldschool sonic frustration.
AND we get Super Sonic. I think it’ll balance out.
