If some of the other characters made guest appearances in the story of whatever I wouldn’t mind that…but until they can the core gameplay to what it needs to be I’m fine with it focusing again only on him. Also…it looks like they’re completely serious about taking it old school.

This appears to be Sega trying to jump on the retro bandwagon Capcom started.

It’s a simple matter to “fix” Sonic: Stop making stupid games. This doesn’t involve throwing all the progress and cast expansion they HAVE made over the years out the window. Rather, it means not jumping on the first bad idea you come across and making a game out of it.
I’m not really interested in a retro Sonic, either way.

I was actually thinking about that…but if IIRC didn’t Sega say this was ‘completely new’? Guess we’ll find out when we see some gameplay.

EDIT: Holy crud, I was reading through GameFAQs (don’t ask), and read a post about how if 360 got an exclusive character, maybe the PS3 might as well; in the form of Ratchet! I can totally see that happen. Actually scratch Ratchet, gimme Quark and his pet instead, even though I hate Quark:rofl:
I still don’t know if I’m going to pick it up or not yet…and I’m still being reserved just on principle alone. I still want to see more gameplay footage and I want to know how most of the game mechanics work so I’m waiting at least to see some Hands-on impressions.
I’ve also been ‘tapping my foot and looking at my watch’ in anticipation for more info on Project Needlmouse and still constantly reminiscing on how incredibly awesome SA and SA2’s music was. Each time a track from either SA1 or SA2 comes up on my Zune while I’m driving the car it just makes me want an SA3 really bad.

Ratchet actually isn’t a bad idea as an exclusive character for the PS3…He’d fit right in.

I havent played a sonic game since unleashed and I need my fix so this will have to do…I havent played a ps3 racing game but im sure the lag isnt to bad…no information on game modes either…
This new game BETTER be called Sonic 4…We need a true successor to the godlike game that was Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I swear, all i ever listen to on my ipod are the OCremixes Scrambled Eggman, Malicious FIngers, and The Doomsday from project chaos. If the new game had music ON PAR with those classics, then it is def a day one purchase for me. I just hope Sega finally does a sonic game some justice.
I like the Sonic 4 idea, but man, I gotta see gameplay. I put too much faith in Sonic games of the past only to be let down hard.
I already said I’m refusing to get hype for another sonic game and I’m going to stand my ground on that. Sega is really going to have to prove it to me that they can make a home console Sonic game solid. I’m just waiting for the really dumb gimmick that they’re probably going to force into the game at the last second.
