Oh! Thank you so much for your help, Goukisan!!! I tried doing that, and unfortunately it didn’t work with any of my games, but at least it gives me hope that I’ll be able to figure this out. I guess I’m going to buy the first DMC then… It’s fine with me, because I was planning on starting the series sometime…
Now’s a good a time as any. :tup: If I have any other problems, I’ll be sure to post on that other message board. I just wanted to ask you something though. Did you use the DVD rom or CD rom Swap Magic disc while doing this TOC method thing? Thank you soo much. :china:
DVD rom. Doesn’t work with the cd rom one due to the format of RF. But on the TOC thing, there are a number of games with compatible TOCs for this, I just happen to have a copy of DMC specifically to beat up for this.
Edit: This is my younger brother’s account, didn’t realize he left his signed on.
Hmm, Chibi, tell me I saw you at CTF tonight playing Kaya a lot. Were you wearing a yellowish jersey type thing? I was the little guy in black picking all the weird characters trying them out.
Someone post stuff for Lud dammnit! How does he gain heat? What do his dumb moves do? I want him to be good but all I can make him do is the dumb shouldertackle. e.e;
Oh, and you can only do Kaya’s Defense Super while being hit.
Yeah, Aran’s the man, he reminds me of Shen so I like him. Mito is dumb in her second stance. pokepokepoke That’s all one button too. And that critical… Death.
But yeah, need to learn to play Lud. I love the robo-chicken. Bazoo is fun too, but he’s so slow and awkward. e.e;
Got destroyed by a good Hikari and Greed the other day. Of note: both seem to have a somewhat indefinite juggle. I was launched (and they used the impact blow so I couldn’t recover) and both Greed and Hikari had what seemed like an infinite juggle. (I didn’t see it go on infinitely though, because they either fucked up the timing and dropped me, or because there exists a mechanism in game to prevent it.)
Hikari does seem very similar to Kaya, they both have that vicious jump in where they stick their palms out at their hips and kind of twirl in.
Whoa… Master Chibi… I thought all the EFZ/MB people were Rumble Fish haters. No matter. Nice avatar. Where did you get the picture? I want to make a Boyd one like that. Boyd is mine =3
Anyways, your first question got answered, her defensive art is done while you are getting hit. Second, Impact Breaking is done by pressing b+D or db+D while you are getting ready to block. It costs one level from the defensive gauge, and if you time it incorrectly, you get penalized. It basically decreases your block stun so you can counter attack your opponent.
There is no universal launcher really, but everyone has LP+LK, Jolt Attack. Some characters, like Greed and Typhon, have normals that will launch (cr.SP) while there are lots of other characters who have cr.SP’s that will only launch on counterhit. Some characters have special moves that will launch too. (Greed, Garnet, Viren)
Air combos follow the same rules as ground rush combos, (LP<->LK->SP<->SK) and some moves are cancellable.
IIRC, cr. HP is decent for anti-air. You could always try her counter move or use her DP.
You could add a j.SP after the j.SK for damage. Also, you can take away the c.LK’s from the combo, because Light attacks scale damage more overall. Finally, after the last s.SK, you can cancel into DP+LP, and then Critical Cancel that into QCF, QCF+LP for more damage.
Was the Hikari player using that dash uppercut move of hers to launch? (HCF+P IIRC…) If so, i’ve seen that Impact Blow tactic being used… It’s really cool, and Hikari can even use her OA after an air combo so that’s nice. On the issue of whether it’s an infinite… I think that after a few reps the gravity starts to increase, and the opponent won’t launch again… So I doubt it’s an infinite. Same with Greed, with his QCF+SP I believe. Hikari and Kaya are cool with that j.SP crossup of theirs…
Yeah, Greed is really annoying and powerful with great mobility, but I don’t think he broken or anything. Near top tier for sure, at least if they didn’t change that much of him from the first one. I’m glad Hazama is no longer a cheap ass.
I don’t know if that’s true or not (much of the EFZ/MB is strictly doji only), but I sure like playing it. It’s simple enough to get into but shows potential for further development, and I’m all for that.
I’ll make one for you in a little bit.
Gotcha, that’ll help me out a great deal. Better to do her DA then to IB I suppose, that way it’s guaranteed damage.
Her dp move launches, I’ll work with that. Thanks.
Good idea.
My mistake, I meant j.SP as the cross over. I figured the DP cancelled into her super as well. I knew the c.LK scaled, but I was messing around yesterday, testing out what I could retaliate with and then combo from.
Another question: That super of her’s has to be blocked high low high low high?
It does, just block it low, impact guard, lp, lk, advance etc.
You use the impact guard into lp to prevent advance attack from coming out because it counts as a counter attack if it hits which prolongs the combo and does more damage.
