Even if I didn’t buy the game I should be able to rant about how shitty this game is. Don’t be mad that you paid 60 dollars for a half assed game. I buy any game that is worth the money, this shit wasn’t one of them.

I can’t stand complaining about something, but oh well. I really tried to give SFxT a chance. 200 hours. I just couldn’t get into it. The gameplay just irks me. I didn’t find myself enjoying my time with it. SSF4 is a much better game to me.
Time to rant about gems…
I think a valid reason people use the auto block/throw gems(other than trolling) (and no I don’t use them) is because it actually does something. In essence, they deliver as advertised.
Let’s look at the Attack Power Gem…
For a short amount of time your characters attack power will increase by…
Hmm, okay… Hugo/Zangief/Marduk, all hurt when they get a hold of you… When they are glowing red it should be… “I’m usually wary of getting close, but now I’m staying the F away”, right now, it just hurts a lil more than usual… Meh
Speed boost:
I want to see Vega/Cammy/pixie characters hit that boost gem and OMFG take the F off like a human pinball around the screen.
Right now, speed hits on a pixie, I drop a bit faster from the sky, my front and back walk speed is a bit increased…Meh, at any walk speed the fastest characters still get hit in the ding-ding by a c.lp
In a game where you can’t have “this” or “that” because GEMS are suppose to “make up for,” or “be the equalizer” to “this” or “that”…
Gems seem like a decent idea in theory, and if done properly could be a “neat” addition, however at the end of the day when all is said and done: the current state of the game and gems just seem sub par.

Does Heihachi have any other combos than the one everyone who plays him online uses? If so that is shitty character design.
Afaik he has some small loops with his qcf.p move. They don´t deal more damage, can barely mix up the opponents and need special spacing. A friend of mine really likes Heihachi storywise but dislikes characters with simple combos. He tried hard to find some flashy and effective stuff but everything he found was worse than “that one combo”.
A month later and these kids are still abusing boost combos like it’s going out of style. Yeah, randomly bring in the partner that was resting so i can kill him, dumbass
“i can’t link combos, so i might as well press these 4 buttons as fast as i can” - Half of the online community
And they end those awesome launcher combos with cr.mp, cr.mp SRK (or most damaging simple motion special). At least every second player I face online overuses these combos so I love to spend 3-4 meters on overly long switch cancel combos to show them whats possible with some effort. Best thing is these combos only deal about 20% more damage than the abc´s, but thats a different story.

this. The whole gem concept is wrong… The reward for activating a power/speed/defence gem is so small…it’s useless. Maybe it could work in a 1vs1 game. But you’ve to deal with 2 life bars. Roughly 2000hp… Doing 40 damage more (and this is a really good situation, because it assumes you landed a 400 damage combo in that little time) is useless and forgettable. Gems add nothing but sparkling graphic effects to the game
I posted this in my own topic, but it rightly got shut down. I agree with the sentiments expressed earlier: this game feels more broken as more time passes on. People think it’s fun to play the lamest possible. Why play a fighting game at all? I find myself only playing Endless and quite enjoying that game mode and it helps me improve, but the Ranked online is just a pathetic experience.

I’m well aware of that and I’ve seen so many Ryu’s online I literally stopped giving two cents about the character… but int SFxT I think he’s crazy overpowered. He’s still the most used character in SFxT as well, so nothing much has changed there… just the lame factor.
If I had my way Ryu would be ass tier in every game to force people to pick someone else for variety’s sake.
