Auto-Combos that Auto-Correct themselves are fucking retarded.
Someone activated one on me, I jumped over, he is facing the opposite direction of me… I walk in to punish him… the combo fucking auto corrects to the other side and I eat a launcher into super.
Yeah absolutely. I try to support as much fighting games as i can, which is probably stupid, but i even purchased mk9 and actually tried to get into that game (not my cup of tea), and trust me outside the us you can’t turn games in and get some of your investment back.
But there’s a limit to how far they can push a product just to squeeze that quick buck. This game looks and feels unfinished, there are typos in the huge selection of 9 stages, the models and art are (as much as they want to deny it) completely reutilized from sf4, same as for the game engine as you can see from how unblockables work. The glitches and infinites are so stupid that i wonder if they did any sort of playtest or just decided to go ahead and released it, let players find the issues and then fix it, because it’s probably cheaper.
We’re either in for some dark times or hopefully capcom pulls it together and decides to push out quality products from now on. The backlash on both umvc3 and this game were pretty big.
I would rather not fight anyone then fight someone who is 9500bp. I want to get better but not get bodied by someone and feel like this game is hopeless to learn. If the option is there for “same skill” then I expect to fight someone who is higher then me but not someone is who above my skill level by thousands of bp. I have lost millions of times and thats nothing new to me, but to fight someone who is leagues better then me doesnt do anything for me learning wise. Its broken.
Nah they should learn that gems, on disk dlc chars and all the other stupid shit they put in the game are dumbass ideas overall.
Also after the huge success SF4 they would be insane not to make SF5. Now if SF5 fails that might be a pretty big problem for the fighting games gener.
Besides the timer, i only have 1 other major complaint right now: Ken’s ROFLcopter
I’m starting to notice that online Ken players won’t even use any other moves except Whirly Bird nowadays. And i can’t blame them. Why wouldn’t you want to use a move that beats every AA and air-to-air in the game, is +98 on block and +240 on hit, crosses up from 1/2 screen away, and becomes ambiguous from 3/4ths screen away.
I have a few AA’s that will “theoretically” beat it, but they are extremely situational. Even Guile’s flash kick is situational against the ROFL. I’ve seen it stuff my flash kick directly from the front.
it is so stupid that I’ve resorted to just jumping and taking the hit (so he can’t get a ground combo). seriously, that is my best option against it.
if only they would take that line of thinking. i hope youre right.
unfortunately, they are more likely to see the flops of their 2 most recent major FG releases, and just say fuck it cuz it looks like people arent buying FGs like they thought they would
Plus, there were some great games back then when Capcom did not released anything in the past few years. You guys are overreacting. If SFxT flops, chances are that this will mostly affect Capcom and nothing else.
I’m really tired of “OMFG!111 da dark agez of fighting gaemz”.
“I try to support as much 2d fighting games as i can” i should say. I’ve always regarded 3d fighters as almost a differente genre, though i’ll definetly try ttt2 and t x sf out.
And i dunno…i still believe capcom is leading the fighting game bandwagon and if it derails we’ll get a lot less titles. How did kof do? I know it’s acceptance is pretty universal, but unless there are sales numbers to back up the investment would snk-playmore risk publishing another game? From what i’ve heard they were near bankrupcy after kof xii.
SNK almost gone down because KoF XII was a piece of shit. KoF XIII has been highly praised - and even if the sales overall in the US were low, being a quality game kinda makes up for it.
And even regarding 2DFGs, we got GG, KoF and some other titles in the said “dark ages” - SFIV just made the genre relevant to the mainstream gamers and casuals.
i doubt mk9 would have seen the light of day without sf4. sure you still get some of the smaller niche games that come out anyway, but there would definately be a lack of major AAA fighting games with big budgets and whatnot
Is MK9 a great tournament level fighter? No, but it’s solid and fun. What MK9 remembered to do, that Capcom doesn’t understand, is MK9 remembered to be a product that people wanted to buy. That’s why it’s outsold everything else three times over.
What case? you took one part of my statement in just said case closed? I don’t know what point you were making but given my statement was somewhat open ended, I’m not sure how I closed anyones case?
well after reading the good the bad and the rant threads i dont think im going to waste my money on sf x t crossover thank you srk for saving me from a waste of money.
