The Official Ranting Thread

People should probably start learning how to play the game before asking them to make such drastic changes. It annoys me when I think that the most inexperienced players that have spent the least amount of time with the game are the ones that Capcom will likely listen to.

Stop complaining about blockstun and start using alpha counters. They are way more powerful than your silly wake up EX moves that probably won’t do anything or will be baited and punished. They are better than your Super and Cross-Art.

Stop complaining about Rolls and start studying them. See what you can do to cover most of their wake up options. It’s not that hard but a lot of people still haven’t figured out the tricks. Or just don’t give them the option to Roll if you’re not smart enough to find ways to cover it.

Stop complaining about cross-ups and start thinking about other ways to counter jump ins instead of just guessing which way to block. There a lot of ways to counter jumps but most people are still trying to block or use their poor AA options. Which to me just goes to show how low the level of play currently is.

They need to remove the infinites, fix the glitches and do minor balance changes but that’s pretty much it imo. Everything else is perfectly fine. The real problem is that people are too lazy to explore this game and find solutions to problems they encounter. They want Capcom to remove the problems that they can’t figure out.

If they’re going to make major gameplay changes like alter knockdown/roll properties, change the way time goes by, make walk speed faster etc. I really hope they at least wait a few months before doing so. I’d like to see what this game can evolve into once people level up their game.

THIS IS A BITCHING THREAD GODDAMMIT!

Also, it is totally possible to bitch about something and be trying to figure it out. In fact, the fact that that “trying” is occurring with few results is part of why these things are so aggravating.

You guys should make the official praising thread, i know about 5 regulars on these forums who’ll remain optimistic no matter how stupid some of the things in this game are, and whose biggest complaint isn’t the poor slapped together mechanics, the dlc gems being superior, etc, but the fact that they have to wait 8 months to pay extra for something already on the disk.

This way you can leave us with our negativity and just hold hands while you have tons of fun and laugh happily in scramble mode.

I wish I knew enough people who wanted to play this game for Scramble mode ;-;.

One day Paper, one day.

Shit made my night. Lmfao…

I hate the inputs bug and custom combos, I keep pulling off custom combos without wanting to cuz I accidentally press the two buttons. I play on pad and tend to mash, it happens to me at least once a round online, it kills it for me.

in most good 2d streetfighter games, yes. every character has at least a decent AA option. thus the importance of having good footsies

what games have you been playing?

which is also makes me wonder what the fuck niggas keep talking about in this game. the ground game isnt near as important as it should be. yes it leads to magic series for every character, but we got laggy ass normals, fast jumps, and no AAs. if someone else has a better ground game than me, fuck it, i’ll just jump that shit. problem solved

Glorious post, and majority of them complaining like to call themselves “hardcore” at the same time. Looolz this community never ceases to amaze me.

They need to nerf these fucking jump attacks, wow. Played last night, I knew people would be jumping all day so I was waiting with my SRK. Traded almost all the time, even if I hit it deep. Fundamentals have no place in this game, lol. Then I started jumping around all over the place, actually worked out better for me and I ranked up. This game is fun to play just because of the roster, I’ve always wanted to see something like this.

In terms of the engine its a piece of shit. The recovery on rolls is ridiculous, I wasn’t even able to tag a roll with friggin’ jab, ended up eating an SRK for my troubles. Now I just lay back and play even more defensive after a knockdown. Shit is boring. I also don’t see why people always say its “hard to get in with x character.” Its so fucking easy, you just JUMP. If you’re facing someone like Akuma then you’ll trade in your favor. If you’re a “Tekken” then you go into your usual high-low bullshit that absolutely OWNS if your opponent makes ONE bad read. You can also get in for FREE with that retarded wave-dash. Conversely, the roll gets you out for free.
Geez, I’ve never had winning feel less fulfilling than in any other fighting game.

Cliff Notes: Game is fun to play but pretty shitty.

If it can’t find anyone in your skill range to fight you…what do you expect the game to do?

I think that’s more to do with the other guy having his settings set to anyone. I think the game matches you with someone else’s settings if they can’t find a match for your own.

By the way, does anybody know how much this game sold so far? I fear a failure which would hurt the genre… I mean, Ono disappeared for two weeks (probably he was really KO but come on, the total absence from his beloved Twitter account is rather suspect) and then stepped down from his role despite the huge efforts he put into promoting it. It cannot be a coincidence

The game is fun and all but I agree that its pretty much a mess at this point. They need to fix and change so many things. The game is way too easy too (assist gems aside). Man I remeber how sometimes I had to train for a month to master the most efficient Sf4 combos. In this game… 2 hours tops.

Also, maybe it just me but while it is quite fun to play I find it incredibly boring to watch other people play it no matter how good they are (streams ect. ect.). Still have a blast watching marvel, sf4 that I’ve played for 3 years and KOF that I don’t play at all. Theres just something off wen I watch X Tekken (maybe its the too easy thing ?).

This game can be amazing but it needs so much work. They really need to take their time for a year, year and half and dev SSxT or whatever , fixing evrything that needs to be fixed.
jiz.

Yeah i completely agree. When i’m playing time flies by “whoa i’ve been here for 2h already!?”, specially in training mode, but i can’t stand watching the youtube matches uploaded, aside from allioune sensei’s.

Still think the game has potential. A lot of the lesser played characters are actually super fun to play as like Marduk and Bob, and even some of the popular ones are quite interesting like Jin, but the build of the game needs to be re-addressed. Things like time outs, AA, rolls and Raven need to be fixed.

It’d actually be really really easy to transform this game into something much better and something a lot less people have a problem with. Everything is there, it just needs tweaking.

Price is already down to $39 on this game and it release last month LOL! I’ll wait few more weeks and it should be $9.99, then I MIGHT buy it if I have no other games in progress.

you should not be at all happy if the game isnt selling well.

first, that means there’s less chance of them fixing this games issues, second that means capcom is less likely to invest in their future fighting games

lose, lose

It’s that bittersweet feeling where you want the game to fail but you don’t want it to.

I don´t have a clear standpoint on the timer issue yet but an option for endless timer in endless mode would be awesome. Oh wait it´s the bitching thread?
WAAHH! ENDLESS TIME IN ENDLESS MODE OPTION NOW! WAAHH!

and to add to my previous thought, there has to be a direct correlation to the sheer number of other fighters being released at the moment and the commercial success of sf4.

so even if you hate capcom, you kinda want them to do well just so that other companies stay interested in putting out fighters on a regular basis
