And yeah, and he WOULD do that too.

Not sarcasm. For years all it was was this “This game can’t get into EVO cuz it’s shit!” “Can this game make it to EVO?” EVO EVO EVO. People spent years acting like EVO was some top tournament where only the best fighters are allowed, and any fighter that sucks just doesn’t get in. This worked back then because Capcom actually made good fighters.
Now it doesn’t anymore. SF4 gets massive complaints, more than any SF game, yet it was at EVO and pretty much replaced the older games. MvC3 replaced MvC2, despite the nonstop complaints about how MvC3 is so scrubby it makes people sick, Dark Phoenix being the most busted character in fighter history next to Igniz, and how X-Factor is a shit and retarded mechanic. MK9(it did prove itself to be a good game, but I used it for this example because it does raise a valid point) wasn’t even release yet was confirmed for EVO, now the same for SFxTekken. Come on now. Seriously? So what if I make a fighting game, even if you all hated it could I just fucking pay the EVO guys to have my game at EVO anyway, even if it had gems AND X-Factor mixed with Pandora, where you get 25 seconds of infinite supers and can flood the screen with fireballs? But hey so long as the game is new and I grease the wheels a bit, it can get in. That shit is sad. Seriously, if SFxTekken sells well, you can kiss this genre goodbye, because Capcom WILL kill it, you’ll be getting Darkstalkers 4 with the gem system and heroes and heralds system merged together into some shit called the “Demon soul system” and there’ll be like 3 comeback mechanics all meshed together, like “hit all 3 attack buttons and your character taps into the power of makai, allowing them to activate all their powers insantly and gain 300% damage and infinite super meter for 15 seconds LOLOLOL”. Oh and 1 frame links, ya know, to fool the hardcore fans into thinking the game is deep cuz “lol dis combo so hard to do, chains iz for scrubz”
I like SFIV…
But yeah SFxTekken is going to be the finishing move to the scene if it does well, which it inevitably will.
I’d argue that SFIII got far more complaints.
So many lols and fuckin real talk.
The MK9 thing really did grind my gears. How the fuck an unreleased game (not even based on a previous version a la SSF4/UMVC3/BBCS2) gets into the biggest tournament in the world boggles the mind.
LA!
Anyway, if this gem system turns out to be “pay-to-win” and not “pre-order for early unlocks” then I hope everyone gives capcom the middle finger and starts buying into awesome shit like Skullgirls (looks like it will be), Arcana Heart 3 and various other interesting shit out or coming out.
might be a gem for that
lololololol
Man, I got blue balls from reading this…
I do not want Darkstalkers 4 anymore…
im gonna laugh if Death Cargo ends being better and more hype that SFxT :looney:
This game is gonna be worst than CAPCOM FIGHTING JAM or EVOLUTION…which ever one that was terrible IDC

Get real people, pass your judgement when more is known, EVEN BETTER when it gets released and you get to play it. :encore:
This rant is for what’s known and is most IMHO. I was on the fence about this; I’m just about to happily fall over to the side of “not buying it”. I’ll play it sometime, sure, and though I’ve tried to support nearly every fighter in the last few years, I’m willing to pass on this one for the following reasons:
Graphics. Worst-looking fighter I’ve seen in a long time. Yoshimitsu, Raven, Rolento, and a few others aside, nearly everyone else looks DEvolved. Heihachi. I’m ok with some cartoony renditions, but after looking at Capcom’s version, especially the face, I felt sick. Tekken 1 and 2 facial models look more appealing to me than that. I’m almost expecting a stupid Zangief-like grin from him sometime. The backgrounds are as unappealing as SF4s. Too random. Where’s the throwback/nostalgia stages that show somewhere important to SF or Tekken? Mishima HQ? Shadowloo HQ? Marshall Law’s Diner? At the bay near Ken’s boat? Wrestling arena for all the wrestlers? Bosconovich’s Lab? MadGear stageA stage with a banner for Ono/Harada isn’t flying with me.
OVERALL GAMEPLAY. It’s biggest problem right now, of course. Looks too…somehow, it looks too basic, yet too bloated with systems. It’s got a lot, and the gem system is giving it a combination feel like neither franchise has ever had, and maybe shouldn’t have. First, while I like a game that has an included system that ties in with the storyline (meaning Capcom can’t back out of showing a proper one like with Marvel; then again, it’s Capcom, so…) Pandora and Gems don’t really appeal to me as I see them now. Pandora is a little more tolerable has reprecussions. But first off, with the Pandora and Gems, aestetically, it seems more like Marvel thing. As much as this game has, for those who really dedicate to it, I’m curious to see the flow of gamepay with half of the 11 systems used. The tag-team aspect of the game is ok, but I really don’t like it where it’s over when one character of two is knocked out. Too tag-dependent to me; some great comebacks could’ve come out of one character coming back and just barely beating two characters, but oh well.
CHARACTERS. Not too much to complain about. The roster isn’t that bad, and there are probably going to be the obvious ones that haven’t been announced yet, like Fei/Law. Anyway, one big gripe I have is one of my Tekken mains, Hwoarang. Not liking the jump, needs a new English voice actor, that super screams Juri or Kim Kaphwan, not Hwoarang, he’d better have Hunting Hawk somewhere in his moveset, etc. And I thought Asuka/Lili vs Sakura/Karin would’ve been obvious already. If Capcom and Ono doesn’t come through with team-ups so obviously laid out like that in a 2 on 2 game, I guess I might have to not expect maybe Bruce/Sagat, Elena/Eddy/Christie, Fei/Law, etc.
GEMS. I think gems deserves it’s own (long) paragraph, as it’s the most controversial aspect of the game to date. People have already gone on in-length about Pay2Win with I’m also really against, so I don’t have to go there. One thing that worries me is activation. As complicated as things might get with the gems, at least activating it is where it should be simple. Not conditons of how many times you hit someone, or how many times you jump. And while gems potentially have a lot of possibilities, I worry alongside the rest that think the gems will be the answer to balancing the game. If your character is flawed, fix him/her with a gem; heaven forbid Capcom fixes things later with a free update, or even try to get said character decent the first time. And of course, for me personally, it’s the concept of gems themselves. When I think of Street Fighter or Tekken characters, I think of hardened fighters that get by with either their own skill or powerful, badass forces like the Devil Gene or Satsui no Hado/Dark Hadou/Evil Intent (whatever makes Akuma demonic). Gems especially don’t come to mind for making Kazuya more of a badass than he already is. For a re-used mode or system that increases the attributes of a character, I really wish Capcom would’ve just re-used SFA3’s World Tour Mode instead. You can travel around the globe (both franchies really do have global fighters), fight characters with those power-ups, see how they’re used , learn how to beat them, earn them and move onto the next challenge/upgrade. Then in the regular mode, have about 10 slots reserved for powered-up fighters. A pipe dream by now, but could’ve worked really well. Also, why is Gems hardwired into the entire game? Of course there’s the option to not equip any (it seems), but might that not create another split between those who can do without and those who’ll never want to play without gems? When I try the game, I’m going gem-less. I might stay that way too. I’m sure there are going to be issues with this, in or out of tournaments. And good luck to the people who have no access to reserving the Special Edition pre-order with all the games, cause there are a few. If the pre-order is just gems you could’ve unlocked by playing the game, take a big sigh of relief. If not, take a big sigh of defeat as you empty your wallet.
THE CURRENT FIGHT OVER THIS GAME BY THE POTENTIAL PLAYERS. Is it too early to fight over the details of this game with what we know now? No. For those telling people with complaints to wait and see where things are going, I think those with complaints (myself included) maybe have seen enough. If people see something and they don’t like what it is or where it might be going, they can speak up. NOW is the best time to speak up. Capcom’s got around 5 months before this game launches. If they’re willing to hear complaints about the game, the sooner the better. Capcom can have a higher quality, or at least a higher-regarded game if it can take constructive criticism now. How it takes it is a good question. With the Gems and Tournament Organizers in mind, if they didn’t have anything planned to keep character/system select from taking way too long, and we never said shit about it, guess what we’d get, and who’s to blame for it? I know irreversable damage has been done already to this game in the minds of some, but not saying anything isn’t going to solve it either.
Not sure if this was intentional, but this might be a genius move - create such a controversy and uproar about it so much so that it’s talked about, and eventually bought given so much attention. I can’t count how many people online say they are mad to the point of not wanting to buy it, but will anyway. I can’t tell who’s better, fighting fans playing Capcom fighters, or Capcom playing fighting fans. Most likely the latter. I’m willing to get played if it turns out better than it looks/seems now. Big IF though.
Holy shit. That’s worse than I thought.
This kind of talk really makes me want to speak with my wallet.
What I’m worried about more than Ono’s gem-fest is the ridiculous quantity of different mechanics this game actually has. In SF4, I just had to learn what the deal with focus attacks is. Ultras are just buffed up supers, not worth the mention. But how much shit does this game have? My god, I’ll be happy if I understand wtf is going on my screen a year later after release date.
I’m going to buy it anyway, since fighters are scarce for PCs and the game looks fun (not to mention AE will be half-dead by then), though I can’t take it seriously. It’s like the X-factor of fighting games.
Once we figure out what every last one of the 100+ Gems do this thread is going to be a Rantpage:rolleyes:
Yeah man, I can’t wait to buy this and Super SFxTekken with Karin and Sakura added!
Sagat and Dhalsim in the same team!?
Oh noes…
You can imagine what their cross rush will be like; Sagat at one side peppering you with Tiger shots, with Dhalsim on the other side Yoga limbing you.
Imagine Yun and Yang then
When I first heard of sfxtk I was thinking man this game is gonna be cool and I was wondering how the tekken characters would fit then when I saw game play I was kinda put off not by the chain system but it kinda looked like sf4 tekken tag edition but I still was really hype for it then when they added panadora and cross assault I was thinking why add these the game seem fine the way it is I mean we already had a simple A,B,C type combo system but still I just sucked it up and said whatever now when they showed off the gems I was thinking this isnt needed and if you pre-order from different stores you get different gems the game is turning into a party game and the fact that they will be selling dlc gems dont help either dont care if it was .99 per gem still think gems are the worst idea now if it was just a fun mode like what umvc3 is doing then yeah I wouldnt care I do run little tourneys with a group of friends and not all of us have the same system,I just lost hype for this game I thought sf4 was watered down but sfxtk looks like its gonna hold your hand while you play ah well sc5 will be my main fighter for next year
It has more impact if you wait until something is announced to complain about it.
^Good one-sentence summary of the problems here…
