Nope. They’ll get bored because they still suck as players. That’s why they quit.
“Paid DLC exclusive game mechanics AKA GEMS can exist and still make a balanced game” LULZ
Well, but the idea is to attract players, right?
Wait, you can actually purchase DLC combos?
Huh?
$100 for each DESK combo, hit it once and you’ll win the round lol
Yes… that is very annoying.
Also, the gems are just fail. That type of customization doesn’t belong in fighting games imo.
Why does it feel like i’m in jello? Dash forward with Rolento, what is he wading through a swamp?
I do like the combo system tho, links seem a bit … weird, that will take some time to get use to.
Some one said it played like CvS2, i think on some video. I have no idea where they got that from.
It will but if they never learn how to play, they’ll just get frustrated and eventually quit. Quick combo gems won’t teach you how to block or how to fight Sagat if you’re Kazuya. Or how to deal with Akuma’s mix ups. It won’t teach you patience and footsies. It’s just a crutch. Yeah, at first they’ll be happy landing these flashy combos but apparently you can’t combo into them and on block or whiff the whole combo goes on anyway. Which will leave them wide open.
I have to mirror everything that’s been said about the stages and the music. No, the stages don’t have personality. They have weirdass animals and they’re all gray, brown and green. For some reason, the graphics and the effects just look wrong, and I can’t really put my finger on why. I guess the filter they used for the game’s models is just kind of shitty? The Tekken characters look pretty ugly IMO.
So far I’m kind of wondering why I spent $60 on this… I hate saying that because I want to play in tournaments, so I feel like I should enjoy every new Capcom game that comes out, but I’m just not feeling this so far. Even if I end up liking the system, I can’t ignore how much Capcom slacked off in the presentation. That’s the kind of thing you don’t notice until it’s been done horribly wrong, and then it’s like… Whaaa?
This game is cool and all but it is currently highly overrated (thanks to Capcom’ marketing/influencing of the high level players). I just don’t see this taking over for SFIV. The DLC idea in respect to the color customization, more than another other plan Capcom has to milk us, is so obvious and unnecessary that I don’t know about this game atm. The game feels, overall, tacky and haphazardly thrown together.
Agree with a lot of the stuff n here… I still think it’s fun, it’s new, etc, but the DLC stuff is insane.
Also, what is up with the colour edit? It’s the worst edit mode ever… easily. Are we going to have to buy DLC colours? I wonder how much blue will cost? :looney:
There are about a million things.
-The story is so bad I’d rather it not exist.
-DLC gem that makes inputs normal, but we have to pay for it and it’s not just an option under settings? What. The. Fuck!?
-4 colors. FOUR!?
-No separation of 2v2 and 1v1 ranked?
-DLC, DLC, DLC. Dick Licking Content.
I’m probably going to quit buying Capcom shit and go play starcraft II to get my fill for competitive gaming. I’m sick of getting ripped off. I love fighting games, it’s a shame they have to end up this way.
Agreed but nope Namco has put out DLC for Tekken 6. It was a few customization items and a costume for Yoshimitsu that were once pre order exclusives made free to download. So far I like the Tekken’s approach to content and DLC then SF’s or Soul Caliburs. :shy:

A turtling Guile still pisses me even in this game.
Tekken 6 is still played.
But with TTT2 around the corner, it just don’t look that exciting anymore.
Did you check customization options in Tekken 6?
You really think that they could not charge for those?
I agree wholeheartedly.
THIS. It is like seeing a restaurant advertising ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET $5.
Then you pay and go inside and the buffet is just iceberg lettuce and cottage cheese.
The lack of colors, costumes, and the roster has me more than a little pissed. I understand they can’t cater to everyone’s taste but how many Shoto’s do we need in one game when it’s at the expense of characters who actually have unique styles to offer (Adon, Fuerte, Gen, Gouken, Honda, etc.). Once Cody and Guy are playable it will have a little variety but to me there are too many characters with similar play styles.

Also, what’s with the lack of stages? I don’t understand why Capcom went away from giving each character his or her own stage. It keeps the game interesting. Even if each team had a stage to represent them, I would be satisfied.
With all the hate about the DLC characters here, I was talking to Keits about taking a stand and banning them from tournaments, but we both know people like you will bitch once they get their hands on insert favorite character you’ll pay even extra 20$ for
What worldwide is this you speak of? It isnt popular in America, neither is it here in europe barely anyone plays it? So which big market is left none right? So what kind of world wide control? 3rd world countrys or what?
