The Official Ranting Thread

Seriously man you don’t see Namco pulling this bullshit. Not only do they give you a complete roster with customizable costumes and a full spectrum of colors to work with, you don’t have to pay for content that’s already on the disc… Why is Capcom so greedy?

Pretty much the same thing for this game.

I love that this game has feature to make it accessible to newbs. My flat mates are actually getting interested thanks to the assist gems and easy chain combos. Maybe they won’t ever get attached to the more serious side but it’s a lot of fun to play against people in person, even newbs.

Just found out that i can’t watch replays while offline. Damn.

So many goddamn jump in dp Ryu characters… making me sick…

I’m having fun but goddamn I’m tired of having to do the same anti air attack cause that’s all these bastards can do…

Try walking or dashing dammit

Yes mad…

Yea I completely agree. I love the SF games way more than I do the Tekken ones, but they are the real pro/completion/perfectionists game designers that aren’t greedy. Im almost a 100% certain we’ll get the same character we get in SF X Tekken (Including the 12) + More…+ 200 Moves per char +…an incredible amount of detail + NO dlc going into the game. (Oh and fully animated endings and intros) They make a great amount of money too, so I don’t know why they need to do this BS…

Hey, I said this before the game even came out: The music is ass. Very few of it is tolerable and the best are all boss theme tracks. The stages are random and I can’t explain what the theme is going on with them. I mean compare it to Tekken 6 stages. You knew what happened in Tekken 6 and the stages reflect that. The Pandora stages make sense but those look bad as well. What I hate about the trials is that you have to sit there and wait for the character to finish their win pose to get the actual clear. I quit Poison’s trials because of it. Petty I’ll admit but it’s so damn annoying. The only thing I’ll give the visuals is that the Tekken cast like Jin and Kazuya don’t have that huge body builder build they have in Tekken. They just look buff.

The hit and block effects are not my cup of tea. It’s like they tried to make it dynamic but it’s sloppy. Like the throws. When a throw lands it rips you right out of the game. Worst commentator belongs to either SVC Chaos or GG Accent Core(no impact) or BlazBlue CS and onward. An excessive part of the game is that when you select your character the announcer always says their name. And I am nitpicking here but the life bars and super bars look terrible. SF Alpha 3 had presentation that crushes this game in turn.

The only thing visually that I like is Akuma’s Misogi and the animated models on the character select screen. Eventually I’ll get used to how the characters like I did with SFIV. I honestly don’t think the game is that bad so I don’t have issues playing it. As it stands I’ll play this over SFIV and MVC3.

all of that is comparing it to tekken.

this isn’t tekken.

the stages are the most dynamic capcom stages seen thus far.

music is opinion. you can also play music over the games music on systems for both versions of the game. I happen to like the music. Mad gear hideout is the best theme to me, you might hate it. , akumas theme is always the same, they chnage the bass speed it up or slow it down honestly, it never sounds all that different the character remixes for teams are kinda cool. Tekken stages really can’t compare to 2d fighter stages.

The trials thing was there in both versions of SF4.

The thing i dislike about the music is the fact that we can’t choose stage themes vs character team themes but, not every team is forced on you so i could create problems creating so many remixes.

lolno

The reason you have to wait for 12 characters is because Capcom said so. Sony already has the upper hand, why wouldn’t they demand the character releases immediately before Microsoft? Its because of Capcom. This is their version of “Super SFxT” because in 6-7 months, we will get 12 new characters, new gems, new costumes…hmmm sounds an awful lot like Marvel don’t it? Its Capcom pulling the strings for those particular releases because it doesn’t just affect Sony, it affects Microsoft who doesn’t really care about the game at this point.

The irony is astounding here. Suddenly Namco makes the perfect game? Then why the fuck is Tekken 6 getting dropped from competitive play then while SSFIV: AE2012, which by the way had 5 iterations (SFIV, SFIV Console, SSFIV, SSFIV AE, SSFIVAE2012) is still one of the strongest games in tournament lineup? People bitched and whined about Ultimate and look, also at the top. And there is a reason why Namco is no longer just Namco, but instead is Bandai Namco (hint: they did not make a great amount of money). Quit making stuff up, Namco is far from the perfect game designer, they just don’t/can’t afford to put out DLC like Capcom can.

One thing was compared to Tekken and that was the theme of the stages. IMO MVC3 beats SFxT stages hands down. I can pick out several games with better stages to me. And all of what I said is my opinion. I’m not here to tell people what they think and feel is wrong. As someone who has tracks from SF Alpha 2/3/3S/AE and such SFxT has a terrible OST. I mean SFIV is pretty bad too but the character themes is where all is forgiven because they did a pretty good job with that. The trial winpose is fine if it’s a short win pose like Kazuya/Jin/Akuma etc.

I have no complaints right now regarding gameplay. I’m just going to see how the gems system works out. I gotta stop being lazy because I forgot what activation methods my gems have. Also hopefully there will be more stages in the future.

i agree with you there.
i feel mvc stages had less care in them then these, but you are right thats opinion.

im very severely disappointed in the lack of character themes but how could they implement them anyhow. if they switched every time the character did i’d hate it.

also everyone NAMCO HAS A GAME WITH CHARACTER DLC and if they were really that opposed to it they would have not let capcom do it, they have the rights to those characters and whats done to them.
don’t just blame capcom, blame the game industry in its current form .

Let’s see…

DLC I would have preferred in the main game, Xbox Live co-op for local teams, matchmaking has been weak, audio bug in online matches…
Yeah, I think that covers it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go enjoy my game for what it is and try not to pine too much for what I want it to be. The game’s fun, just wish it was larger, I guess.

Huh? Cause…people like SF more? I also mentioned ‘‘I like SF way more than Tekken’’ I’m talking purely from a game scheme/completion standpoint here. I think BB has it almost perfect…perfect modes. chars, tutorials, story, mechanics, but I also don’t like it more or see it more than SF/MVC3 at tournaments. Capcom obviously makes addicting games, but that doesn’t mean anything about how BS and…held back/$$$/rushed? some stuff seems. You almost can’t deny other companies at least seem to put twice times the content in their games while still feeling a 100% complete (For 60$ at least), but that doesn’t mean they instantly sell more.

Edit: What’s up with this BS editing system? lol. Everytime I edit…it goes back 3 steps…to 2 steps back…to 1 step forward…to the new edit >< arg lol.

the only things i hate is the netcode and that blanka and sakura aren’t in the game the gems don’t bother me very much after trying it out i kinda liked it

Because everyone knows Tekken Tag 2 will make Tekken 6 redundant. And that’s already out for the select few with arcades. All the other Tekken players still play Tekken 6, but it’s kind of like when we were still playing Super when Japan had AE. There’s no incentive to continue being good at a game that is basically headed towards the coffin and has exhausted its levels of hype. Older Tekken iterations other than, Tag1 (lol), aren’t played anymore because the new versions are designed well enough to supersede the old. Each Capcom fighter is drastically different than the last, which is why you have folks complaining because ‘it plays too different’. Oh yeah, and beginner cheese mechanics ugghh.

You must be completely retarded if you can’t figure out why T6 is losing some steam after being IN FUCKING CONTROL for so long world wide Hint Tekken is much bigger qworld wide than SF, SF has America no doubt and it has a little something to do with a game with these initals TTT

Fair enough. I loved TTT and wish 2 was out already. But I still don’t agree that Namco is suddenly the god of games and makes perfect games and Capcom is the devil and greedy. You can bet there will be DLC for TTT2, people seem to be in denial about this. Not to mention TxSF will do the same.

They don’t make perfect games but they also dont make incomplete games. Don’t put out DLC characters/costumes (except for Vadar/Yoda) you pay for to use. You unlock characters and items for costumes by playing the game and can customize a character anyway you wanted them to look. I never felt like Tekken/Soul Calibur games were rushed or unfinished.

this game is like Pay Per View, except all the content has already been made to last the capcops the rest of the year

its like going into one of those hotels back in the day with only a controller and if you wanted to play the game you had to pay to unlock it except I already paid f’n 70$ plus the 20$ guide and all I got was 3 colors to choose from, white black or silver/chrome

WTF

Does anyone think that this whole “buy combos thing” will end up backfiring, since noobs will rely on it and end up bored?

I mean, it turns the game in some sort of “guitar hero” where you have to press the button at the right time, there isn’t much reward in a fighting game if you only press 1 button.

I know it takes bar, it just doesn’t seem like an intelligent “NOOBS, COME LEARN THIS GAME!” mechanic.

Oh, forgot to rant, FUCK YOU CAPCOM, FUCK YOU HARD.
