The Official Ranting Thread

Seriously Capcom, I want to throw up - I don’t know who the hell needs to get their ass kicked for this, but I’d rather celebrate a tennis shoe than your 25th anniversary right now, you money-grabbing asses…

If they are on disc already capcom will be making a mistake with the hardcore community, normal people will still buy them though so they might not even care at this point.

Also just because something was teased doesn’t mean it was done.

I really hope that last part is the case… but I want their to be an uproar so maybe we can get something early. ~

A company wants money? Ridiculous!

The issue isn’t that they want money. The issue is that they’re perfectly willing to sell you a worse product because of money, and you’ll buy it anyway.

This is the ranting thread. Go white knight Capcom some place else.

I’ve only scratched the surface with it, like i did jab floats, and some basic two Cr. MP to DP kind of thing. as shenanigans goes it seems that SF4’s little flip reset isn’t there anymore, or i couldn’t do a move to initiate it. but i did feel some oddities with crossups and counter hits. the crossups were best summed up by Desk, but initially i didn’t want to say it here because i wasn’t sure myself…it was more of a guess then a actually fact, that being crossups feel like ST crossups.
counter hits on the other hand are weird to me, only because the stagger animation is very deceptive, the hurt box does not change dramatically like one would think when they are sliding on the floor, but actually you can hit them with “most” normals for a full punish. This and ground bounces are a rather strange oddity to me as well, some characters you have to time or link after the ground bounce, others like i felt with King, after uf4, you can do f222 (B!) then to running Jaguar bomb like in T6, however other retarded things like being able to hit the DDT follow up from Konvict Kick off a juggled state.

Tekken Characters are fine, King felt real strong to me, his dragon Screws shut downed jump ins for me and made my synergy with poison go up alttle, King also has good mobility when it comes to a grappler out of his 3+4. he has like 3 moves that are fireball invulnerable…his normal dash, 3+4 spin, and his chop to german suplex special is as well(EX is good for punishing them) Konvict kick is relatively safe too(it has decent push back). Robbie posted alot of good stuff about him in his thread too…

please source? even for Capcom this is madness.

edit: nevermind, I’m an idiot

Worse product?!

Seriously how is it worse? I would accept maybe “incomplete” but even that is stretching things. Are they not giving you online training mode? Are they not giving you 38 (43) characters? Are they not mashing together 2 of the greatest and most successful fighting game franchises in one fuckfest of a game? By your logic the 360 version is immediately the “worse” version and everyone should be using the PS3 version, I mean they are lacking 5 characters already right? This game is complete, DLC characters are superfluous at this point. The game is not broken without them.

You’re allowed to rant, everyone is. But the baseless ranting needs to stop. I know what you want to rant about, and I actually agree, lets rant about it.

I plan on buying every DLC character, but I am peeved that it will cost me an arm and a leg to do so. I do want to support Capcom so I will reluctantly buy it. Considering how they are giving back (see news about half a million dollars being given to tourney organizers) I can understand them wanting to gouge us for just a bit more money. That and those DLC costumes although awesome looking, are essentially costume swaps between SF and Tekken characters. Some look great others just look super lazy.

Wait wait where was it confirmed that these 12 characters are going to be payed-for DLC?

Why wouldn’t they be? That’s how it’s worked in the past. Did you expect it to be any different here?

Nobody knows accept for Capcom employees. Either paid dlc or free. I’ll be optimistic and say those 12 are free.

If this is true I will eat my goddamn hat, live, on Ustream, on release day.

maybe.

Ever since I turned 25 on September 13th, it seems everywhere I turn there’s some wise guy who tells me that I should stop being hype for this game.

“Oh, it has a comeback factor!”
“Gems are a scrub mechanic!”
“Where the hell is _____?”
“The game looks ugly!”
“There’s just going to be a Super/Ultimate!”
“DLC should already be on the game, no buy!”

To all of this and more, I give you a big “piss off.” I’m not listening anymore.

Everything I see about this game looks hype, and even during the dreaded TGS build I saw the potential that others are beginning to realize. But the kneejerk reactions and sometimes asinine arguments from people who pretend to be cost-efficient and economically savvy have done all they could to keep me from properly enjoying the anticipation. Well, in 13 days, all of that crap is going right where crap belongs: in the toilet. I will finally, after almost two years of raw and unhealthy hype, to the point where up until today I checked for SFxT news every teacher lunch break even though school filters prevented me from going to most gaming news site…have this game in my hands. And whatever DLC comes, I will weigh whether or not it is worth it immediately or if it can wait, and for those 12 extra characters I will see it as something to look forward to as I become well-aquainted with the other 43 characters.

13 days, people. 13 loooong days…

It’s funny how everytime I see an interview to Seth or other famous players and they talk about gems, they always mention the balance, the “strategic” factor and no one ever even acknowledges the DLC/pre-order exclusive gems or expresses worry about setting them up in tournaments.
Those are the real problems and the reason people are still complaining so much about gems, not the shallow layer of strategy they’re gonna add or the ugly light effects around the characters, we’ve all gone past that by now.

I’ll be honest, I’m not past the glow. It just…

I think it will distract me and makes the characters look bad :frowning: I’m a scrub

PS Vita version will have 12 more characters but why won’t the PS3 and 360 versions include the additional characters? They better be DLC.

The assumption is that they will be DLC. We’ll have more details shortly according to Ono, one of the Capcom Stream mods and (i think?) Sven.

Been over this: They are def going to be DLC of some sort. The question is: when, and how much.

Lei and Alisa are already on the disk confirmed by ESRB (who requires disclosing any locked-out content during the rating process.)

I’m guessing the Vita characters will be paid DLC for consoles. Vita gets them free, console users pay in order to alleviate the fact that the handheld version is releasing in Fall.

If there’s anything I’d like to rant about its that I’ll have to choose between great online and many friends, versus having the ability the play as Cole. Definitely going 360 after a bunch of buddies said they’d be getting it, but I really want to try Cole! It’d be extra awesome if he got his Infamous 1 outfit.
