The Official Ranting Thread

read what i just posted in the gem thread…you’ll hate them more…

Yeah I read that. I don’t have that much of a problem with them if TOs ban DLC and pre-order gems though.

hum. i didn’t really think they would ban them outright~ hahaha well there is a chance of that isn’t there! well its something to think about though. i like to be prepared myself…but its all up to Mr.Wizard in the end. but i kinda hope they treat DLC gems like a update or something, making it mandatory…why? more or less people are going to use them and if everyone has access to them via network then there shouldn’t a problem, but thats just me and i know people have their own umm morals when it comes to DLC so i’ll leave that alone~ hehehe

Well that’s always the case when a new game is on the way right? The game has changes and people are afraid of changes in the first place, because they could destroy the game, but they could also make it better. But nobody really knows how it will be at this point. But for me, it is only important what the pro scene has to say about this game. And they are loving it so far.

I think Skullgirls can be very good too, but you know the Arcana Heart haters will hate this game as well. ^^

Btw. Kefka is the best video game character of all time. =)

Of fuckin’ course I’m gonna play the game everyone else is playing. Nobody is going to give a fuck if I can whoop your ass with Akira in VF because that game has literally 4 players worldwide.

Fighting games are competitive. As long as the game can be played competitively everything else is secondary.

With respect, it isn’t “simplifying fighting games,” and the things it’s doing you’re condemning – at least it looks like you’re condemning – are actually good. Unlike a wide variety of things SFxT brings to the table.

But now I can slap around SF and T characters I don’t like with SF and T characters I *DO *like.

Yeah, I don’t…I wasn’t very good on the Debate Team :frowning:

That’s one of the good things about it. It has good things. Really. Just… not enough compared to the things that aren’t so good.

I like that this game has juggles, cuz I feel like SF4 was missing them :stuck_out_tongue: not that I’m some expert on gameology or anything, I just would’ve liked to see more of that in the series.

Like what.

OOH OOH I GOT ONE

The Gem Glow on everyone looks lame  like they got dipped in cough syrup.

I just wanna know why everyone’s panties are in a bunch over this game. Most of what I’ve heard so far is basically ‘I don’t like that the game does this’, not ‘the game is bad because it does this’.

:clapdos:

The gem glow DOES look horrible. Then again, I’m sure my buddies and I will run some non-gem sets.

It’s been well said by people more articulate than me.

I know I will. The CPU can use all the Gems it wants. It’ll make me play even better for it. :nunchuck:

Ben you know you wana use Gems too! don’t be coy~ hahaha. When you see the CPU use Gems your going to be like…i want dem gems…;_;

You keep making a lot of sweeping generalizations about why people want to play this game, and while you might even be right in some cases, they’re still sweeping generalizations and it makes your argument look worse for it.

Something worth noting though is that a good portion of people in this particular subforum aren’t even really competitive players. That’s just the truth. They’re not looking for “the best possible fighting game to play,” they’re looking for a new fighting game. Preferably one with decent online.

Putting aside the players themselves, a lot of opinions I read on this game in here make me feel like those people must have been wearing beer goggles or just aren’t looking for themselves. And I don’t hesitate to voice concerns I do have when I see them, but I think you’re mistaken about a number of things, even though you don’t actually talk about the game most of the time. On the other hand, when I do mention something negative, even though I’m very careful about wording, people respond as if I hate the game, and there isn’t very much real discussion. I can get why people are defensive.

As a whole it’s not worth going into depth because I’m just really going to be talking to myself. People have their own mindsets, negative or positive, and they’re not going to move out of them unless they see something high-profile indicating otherwise. If logical explanation won’t get anywhere, then hyperbole and telling people what they think isn’t likely to leave a blip on the radar.

I’m not condemning anything just stating whats up, making it so you cant jump out of 360s is factually making 360s easier to do, which I would have thought this community would have lost its mind over in rage. Keep in mind I love skull girls, I never have given a shit if something is super execution heavy and challenging I just want games that have super fucking hype moments built into the engine.

The thing is our community is full of shit most of the time. Everyone hates on everything all day every day, yet they play it. Everyone hates on games for not being technical or demanding executionwise enough… AND NO ONE, I mean NO ONE fucking plays KoF13, its like a joke. No one wants to support a game that requires crazy good execution, and is absurdly technical. So it seems like our community is just trolling the fuck out of itself every chance it can get.

SFxT does some things that other people seem to hate but I dont see being that bad. Theres a comeback mechanic which I know everyone hates, but its 10x better then Xfactor and its even less brain dead then ultra combos in SF4. At least there is a risk involved with it, a pretty fucking serious one at that. Even professional players who are gods drop combos, so in tournament play pandora is going to be a anxious as hell moment. This is the first non scrub tastic comeback mechanic weve gotten and everyone is just bitching about it.

Gems, if they are that serious of a problem both sides will use the same ones, same thing we would do if the game dropped and king could infinite the whole cast off any normal. Just stop allowing it in tournaments ( I actually think gems will allow people to have some fun but maybe I’m being to optimistic.

What do you think is the issue with SFxT? I respect your opinion, your an old timer around these parts and I would enjoy hearing what things bother you about the game.

I’m not sure I agree with that.

I absolutely agree with this.
