The Official Ranting Thread

im always take people seriously for one reason or another…idk maybe i should give people the benefit of the doubt…but still there are alot of people who firmly believe in that idealism so its was hard for me to see what he was joking…

Everyone talks shit about every new fighting game before it comes out, most even talk shit about it for at least a year after its out.

Then everyone plays it.

Go and look at some of the 3s threads and you’ll see the same thing.

That being said, i’ll be playing skull girls rather then this bull shit.

That’s not case with Skullgirls, everyone is praising that game. To bad the Fan base isn’t going to be that big

EDIT: Not to bash on the game. I’m liking Skulll Girls

Even Skull Girls will have things people will complain about. It’s the same with every game. Anyone who expects a perfect game will never be happy with anything less. Unfortunately.

I think skull girls is bashed way fucking less because of the fact that Mike Z and many of the people who are active in making the game are very active on the forums for SG’s.

Your less likely to talk shit when the games creator gets in your face after.

im just super disapointed with the way grapplers are in this game…gief got like a weird nerf to green hand now it gets hit out of anything…mardok is concidered the worst in the game by a few people that actually played it… king has wierd throws that only hit when they are crouching or standing…so you have to guess or eat a combo…the only one looking decent is hugo…and even then will probably have a hard time with fire ball presure and mixed up like crazy on wake up becuase of how big he is…i just hope im wrong when i get my hands on the game and it ends up being awesome

Yeah, my hype of the game’s at an all time low because of this. I just can’t imagine not playing Zangief but everything seems to be working against me in that regards.
Might just stick with SF4 and let SFxT pass. I thought I was going to drop SF4 for SFxT. Ha?

The engine itself seems to hate grapplers. The rolls are going to be very frustrating for slow characters who have to work to get in and will benefit characters like Sagat. Having a throw super art seems to lock you out of a whole range of options like wallbounces and pandora combos but Hugo seems to have escaped that.

I’m perplexed that they nerfed Zangief’s damage so badly as well. It’s not as if you can have SPD as part of a combo; whatever damage you get off it is it. However other characters seem to be able to combo a ridiculous number of moves.

Honestly if you haven’t played pre-SF4 games at a competitive level you have no credibility when you talk about how legitimate people’s complaints are. You simply don’t have an adequate grounding in the history of fighting games to make an informed judgement.

The music in that amusement park/carnival level is the worst fighting game music I’ve EVER heard. EVER EVER EVER. Wowzers. Also, Guile sounds kind of…odd. Are they using English or Japanese voice tracks?

The fact that someone hasn’t played an older game doesn’t invalidate their opinion.

I’m not gonna let this disguised “2k9ers don’t know shit” bullshit slide not even in this thread. Calling out people based on when they started playing has no bearing in a discussion.

So I get that this is the official ranting thread but.

This game can’t possibly be worse than MVC3. And people are playing and loving that game.

This game has so much going for it. No expenses were spared in the system mechanics department. Alpha counters, charge specials, low invul launchers, tech rolls, supers, chains, jump cancels, dash cancels, tag cancels, bounces, gems (which don’t seem bad, just maybe a little redundant, if even that), pandora…

I’m willing to bet most of you ranters played and enjoyed SF4 at some level. It’s clear that Capcom are trying to make sfxt a deeper game overall. So what exactly is it about sfxt that makes it seem like a worse game than sf4, so much so that you would rant so vehemently against it?

Most of you haven’t played it. I have. I sat down for a couple hours with the game and it was fucking fun.

everyone should just chill out, if you like playing street fighter or tekken, regardless of what a joke this new cross over is for you, youl still find reasons to play/like it.
complaining about how it should be is so cliche and boring

If only more new players actually went back and played some of the older fighting games, I would sorta agree. But there’s too much mainstream bandwagon going on to take most of the newer players seriously. I respect new players who want to learn and understand FGs, I don’t those who are here mostly to troll, to be stupid and to spread misinformation.

I will buy this game solely because we worked hard to get Poison in the game, major shoutouts to humpski and the people who were there to support the polls and the campaign. But honestly I fear for this game’s impact, if accepted in a competitive nature, on the future of competitive fighting games. While I’m still hopeful things might turn for the better, I’m hoping that the stupid stuff will simply be ignored by the competitive community, an even ground is created rooted in skill and if the game turns out to be unbalanced to be simply dropped in the future once we have a solid verdict so we can move on.

You talk as if people that play older games can’t be idiotic pricks.

There are good players and bad players. Which game you play and when it was released does not make either true. Playing ST does not instantly make your opinions right, same goes for the other way around.

Nah, of course there are idiots everywhere. What I dislike is that it’s usually the most uninformed side that has an impact on major commercial releases and the developers are even pressure to do so.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that but an opinion that doesn’t have a grounding in a wide-ranging knowledge of fighting games has no credibility. Would you trust a film critic that hasn’t seen The Godfather? How can I possibly take seriously the opinions of someone that doesn’t have enough experience with the genre to make a sound comparison?

This isn’t the same as saying everyone who played ST’s opinion is automatically worthwhile, please refrain from that stupid logical fallacy.

Lol The Godfather is not the SF2 of cinema I assure you.

I don’t know, this game looks a bit random to me. The stream I saw of Fuudo v. Algeria had a TON of jumping around and all kinds of stuff happening on the screen. That said, I’m really pumped for this game overall. Getting it day one, looks like the roster is going to make it a ton of fun. I would have liked it more if it was 1v1, but this is still fine.

Would seeing The Godfather make his opinion of a completely different movie matter? Pretty much every MVC2 OG player hated MVC3 at first - and many still do - does that make it a bad game? What made the old games good is not necessarily what makes the current games good. You want to judge post-SF4 games? Then compare them to post-SF4 games.

This isn’t medical advice, you don’t need prerequisites to be able to have an opinion if you can provide sound arguments for it.

This coming from someone who said that if you didn’t play pre-SF4 games your opinion has no credibility? Oh, the irony.

And I’m done with this discussion. This is a rule I’ll mercilessly enforce and that’s that.

1st month the game is gonna look random. Give it about a month to look better

My rant Elena ya assss better be in this game or imma be MAD
