Not the point. People may like all the stuff Ono is throwing into the pot, but if he gets the impression that people are gonna buy this stuff, he’ll be tempted to throw some stuff in there that people might not want, like Gems for example.

God this game is fucking boring. Fingercramp’s stream was such a snoozefest, heck I went back to SC5 and a T6 streams. Which is a shame really since Capcom is trying so hard to make this game look interesting WITH HARDCORE RUBBLE SELECT SCREEN, DANGER IN THE BACKGROUND, EXTREEEEEME SHAKY HUD, SLOW MOTION “LOOK AT THIS COOL SHIT” MOVES, HEY HEY HEY CAN YOU TELL THE GEMS ARE ACTIVATED? HERE WE"LL APPLY A NICE THICK COAT OF SPARKLY NAIL POLISH ON YOUR CHARACTER FOR IT.

The metagame was fun to watch. The combos were stale though, and I wasn’t digging all the time-outs. Tekken characters still feel one-dimensional, doing pressure strings and passing through fireballs fishing for a hit. I guess combos will be the main thing that sets them apart from the SF roster and each other.
I can already see Ken pissing me off online with EX tatsu tags and EX shoryu tag into Ryu. Laggy shotos all day, with a few Jins, Steves, Hworangs, and all the other SFs. Everyone else will be absent.
If every tournament player in existence didn’t buy this game it wouldn’t matter, it will still get enough sales to give Ono the reins for SFV.
Every modern fighting game sucks. I say this even though I’ve never been to an arcade in my life and started playing fighting games with Street Fighter 4. My favorite fighting games are Super Turbo, Third Strike, and CvS2, but I’ve spent maybe three hours combined on all three. I’m gonna buy this game day 1 because it’s a Capcom fighter but I’m gonna say I didn’t. I didn’t bother showing up to the fightclub that was thirty minutes away from my house to try SFxT, but I am confident that this game is ass.
5 years from now when I’ve saved up enough from these unemployment checks, I will go to my first Evo.
