The Official Ranting Thread

Yeah you are right. I should brush that off. I mean its stupid, but its not an essential part of my growth as a player on this game. It just sucks that I have to criticize how this mechanic has some stupid stuff to it. And losing those pts to an 0 BP good player wasn’t morally destructive by any means. Its just that losing the reflection of my work over some stupid PSN issue (Yes, trolling on fake accounts its a PSN issue in general applies to all games) that was beyond my control just heats me up. But hey that’s some of the BS of online gameplay we can never truly escape. We have to focus on the actual game and keep moving forward.

I really think you’re better than me. I remember when we first fought in ranked and I couldn’t even touch you at all. Like everything I did was null and void. I avoided you for the longest time until I “trained in the mountains” and figured out major stuff that was holding me back. I gotta clean up my execution and get better spacing so I can finally stop making mistakes that cost me matches. I think you make far less gamebreaking mistakes. That’s how I see it.

I’m too lazy to do that I am afraid. Apparently this troll account fellow says his account got hacked. Sounds awfully suspicious. lol And I am not doubting that his account was hacked…is why was it hacked?

That is if the story is true. (which I doubt) lol

I feel like my skill varies on who I play, like I adjust to their level to the best of my abilities no matter what skill they are and I find that to be a huge problem. Although this is something I have only encountered online. Also the fear of lag makes me make impatiently bad decisions(more online stuff) not to mention i’m not the best tournament player. I feel like my skill gets cut in half.

I think that is the main dis-advantage of playing two characters who possibly work much better as Anchors. I have the same problem too in my team.

I mean Akuma doesn’t NEED meter too much but, he needs it for safety reasons such as making his SRK’s safe-ish and comboing off of his overhead.

There are also those moments where someone has low health and I really want them to die but I’m not sure that my Demon will kill them because of how wonky the lifebars are set-up. For example: a 500 damage combo with my team on a 1000 health character doesn’t look like they’ve lost even half of their health.

And so basically it ends up with both characters’ probably punching each other in the face to gain meter which Lili usually tends to win at right now because of the come-back factor of those EXs :).

Yeah I had this happen to me before, it’s the reason why I struggled to get to the 3000 BP mark…well that and a bunch of communication errors leading to losses of 100+ BP for stuff I really didn’t do because for some reason, those count as disconnects even if you haven’t willfully decided to unplug your PS3.

I just find it annoying that if you lose to a local team of 2 players, the amount of BP they’ll lose is tiny compared to amount that you will lose should you fight them. It’s made worse if they are a higher rank because you’ll lose even more thus negating the idea of ‘Challenging yourself’.

Sorry about that I couldn’t help myself lol…

As expected, another contribution from you that serves no purpose. Have a good day, kid.

I literally had that happen to me tonight as well, lol. Played a team three times, won the first, lost the second, won the third time we played. Despite one of the players being 10k bp (parter was at 1900-ish I think), I lost 60 for the lost, negating what I’d won. It’s weird because when I won, the game gave me 70 (essentially points for beating a higher rank), but when I lost, it took 60 (penalty for losing to someone with much less points?).

Ah well… I ended up 74 points positive on the night (including other matches), lol. :-p

What’s wrong with Kazuya? Both Hei and Jin are better IMO. Kazuya needs a serious damage nerf (not on WGF/EWGF) as do Hei and Jin.
Fuck Heihachi btw. Also, don’t count my single, lucky, fraudulent win.

Hey!!! I like those gifs…

I just don’t like how I cab be flow chart 50/50’d on wake up and there isn’t anything I can do about it until I guess right or I’m hit enough to gain a bar. I find that mad stupid. So yeah, fuck mishimas.

LOL those are the bad Kaz players who do that. If you guess right it’s typically a free combo everytime if you punish correctly. I prefer fighting those Kaz players over Chaos, that’s for sure. At least with those guys you’ll NEVER see full meterless 550+ damage EWGF combos. That shit is stupid. Why keep Kazuya’s meterless damage that high when you nerfed every other meterless in game down to nothingness? I don’t get it.

There are gaps in those 50/50s. I must admit, I fall for that shit too. Kazuya’s 50/50s only lead to knockdowns so keep calm and block/punish (I need to take this advise myself).

I like Xiao over EWGF Kazuya. Not only does she do good meterless damage, she gets damage of either outcome in her 50/50s. Moreover, I like Nina over Kazuya because she can do close to 400 off a whiff punish and 450 in a punish (both meterless).
Kazuya will not be scary as the game progresses because people will just block better; he has very few ways to open you up for big damage. The same may be said about Xiao but a +1 overhead/low mixup is a lot scarier to me than EWGF being +1 on block.
Kazuya does 508 max meterless in a punish situation but outside of that, good luck trying to land a raw EWGF vs a good player. I really think this game will favor the characters that can mixup to big damage. Of course, I’m probably wrong about all this.

Spoiler

inb4 tatsu calls me out for being an online scrub nobody

The main thing you wanting to to is:

cHP>Angel Knee>cHP>HP Dendroid>fMK~HP.

The Angel knees only works on standing characters, but cHP standing characters up, so is you get that link down…

Yeah I practiced it for a bit and got the timing down, it’s just my shoryuken inputs are sloppy at best. I swear 50% I will get a Sunflower Lance instead of an Angel Knee since you have a very tiny window to input the special.

Xiaoyu’s mixups isn’t really a 50/50, because you can just DB and react to overhead easily, it’s just a bit difficult to escape her with some characters coughs Asuka coughs

This is actually one of the main hinderances I had - and when I try to play her I’m still having. Guess it’s just a matter of execution, just glad I’m not the only one that has that issue.

yeah that’s the problem i have with Kaz and Hei… Their mixups arent reactable. Xiao’s is. Kaz’s shit is worse than Akuma’s vortex in SF4. And it’s compounded by the fact that it’s rediculously easy to get put into the initial situation. Multiple overheads (i count mid attacks as overhead because you have to block them standing), multiple mixups that lead into themselves, multiple invincible ways to get in… it’s just too much. If he’s gonna have all that he needs to have a 10-20% damage nerf across the entire moveset or about 150-200 less health.

Hei either needs a damage nerf, or dp needs to lose invincibility, or he should only have one ground bouncable move.

While i’m at it, Ryu just needs the cancelable sweep removed. There’s no reason for that shit.

I dont have any other complaints about anyone else being too strong.

Just out of interest what makes Heihachi and Jin better than Kazuya in your opinion?

I say this because I just find that Kazuya one of those well rounded characters. I say this under the assumption that someone is using the character to the best of their ability.

Put him on point put him as an anchor he works either way.

He seems to not have a lot of bad match-ups, probably the only characters that give him trouble are Dhalsim and possibly Sagat.

EWGF Pressure is insane. Mainly because it’s plus on block and it’s slight pushback pushes him out of range of some 3 frame moves. It’s made even better by the fact that in Tekken, the whole (WGF/EWGF) is duck punishable but it isn’t in this game, negating it’s main weakness as a move.

His fastest move is 5 frames I think? Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not really a frame data buff. It’s a weakness but hey most 3 frame stuff is in crouching attacks so raw launcher can blow it up or the EWGF will crush it if they do a standing jab or something like that (or at least I think st.LP is a 3 framer for some characters).

If anything, a couple glaring weakness about him is that most of his mix-ups are unsafe on block and that characters with fast supers can really shut down his offense…really hard. Like against someone like Gief the only safe stuff he has is his Spinning Demon Mix-up, Devastator ( :qcb: :hp: ) and EWGF when he has two bars for his super.

Man, screw TTT2. I’m so glad I know how to play this game, we had casuals last night and no one FUCKING NO ONE would touch SfxT because they couldn’t kill me with their senseless mashing. I even offered for them to play each other and still “Nah that games not fun, Tekken is better”. I’ve never felt so infuriated by an opinion, I’m gonna learn every goddamn move with my mains in Tekken and make them wish they knew better than to mash.

I suppose my rant is that: I miss playing this );
