Well I’ll tell you what, dealing with a decent to good autoblock ranked players is tough and annoying but if you beat them you feel really good.
If you lose = you can legitimately discredit their loss
If you win = you beat someone on steroids.
You should play more endless, I tend to see less assist gems on there.
I don’t know about xbox, but on PSN endless is the worst. I’m seriously going to stick to ranked mode (with their assist gem users) and playing people I know. 90% of people will kick you if you beat them or challenge them in any way. There are too many fucking idiots playing this game; the player pool needs to shrink.
Fuck boost combos, and the skill-less idiots that can only mash lmhh.
Have to agree with you on the boost combo part though. It gets scrubs out of trouble too easily. They should’ve made it so you have to link the 3 hits instead of just mashing them
I knew that Rean200 is you. I actually get to watch your fight against Ryu/Hugo in the Character Channel. You almost had him if it wasn’t for the timeout.
As for another rant, I wonder if the outcome of fights would be different if the opponent doesn’t use assist gems (easy input in particular)?
i played more than 500 games so i dont remember who that was.
anyway, i have shitloads of hugo matchup experience now since i played like 30 matches with the guy in endless who was pretty good with him.
its still hard but now at least its not 20/80 but 50/50 chance of victory.
still hugo is annoying as fuck. hate fighting him.
CPU Hugo isn’t that hard if you stay out of range, i think faster characters have an easier time against him as i can just hold back and get away, just back jump and punish him after you see him miss a backbreaker attempt. He will always fall for it.
Yes, that’s what I’ve figured. He’s so huge that he’ll have a hard time dodging fireballs. That tactic would work against a CPU Hugo, but good human Hugo players may have already found a solution on that.
They´re already losing quite a bit of damage because of using it. If you want to launch it´s mostly better to just do hp/hk launch or lp launch (if you need a really fast normal). I see so many guys online doing the full abc launch followed by a far-from-optimum partner juggle. There´s so much damage lost, I grinding my teeth every time I see this.
My problem is, when you have less than half life, lmhh > c. hp xx super (or level 3) can kill you. If some one does c.mp, c.mp, c. mk xx launch, cr. hp xx super there’s a lot less salt intake (at least for me). There’s barely any incentive to link in certain situations anymore.
Of course, I’m an idiot for getting hit by that shit in the first place.
Fighting Hugo is like going against a final boss. Once you knock him down i hate the fact i can’t put pressure on him (Hugo players usually do that charge thingy to counter hit)
Hugo has slow normals, his charge will get blown up by throw/chains/2 hitting moves/fast links. Has to use ex grab to get out of meaty pressure (or roll). No good anti air without using meter. He his a pretty bad character by himself, but if put together with a character that can get him the ticket in on his opponent, he can be effective with his amazing damage output. IMO
Getting hit by that is no shame, it´s a super fast (if started with a light) and mostly safe way to make sure your getting at least some damage from a block. Where people dropped punish combos in the past, there is now abc for a fool proof, though lower damage punish. You´re right though, there´s almost always a better combo available, but they have their uses as a punish combo. Personally, it´s just the way people use this as their only punish that enrages me. You´re doing some kind of dumb mistake or get your DP blocked and the only thing that hits you is an abc launch followed by jabjab DP. Whatever, they´re just hurting themselves doing this crap.
Tried AE some days ago and constantly tried to punish stuff with ABC if I knew doing the max damage punish was not possible in that situation. I looked like a jerk “punishing” stuff with jab into nothing. Good thing I played it with a fellow SFxT player and he did the exact same stuff .
