The Official Ranting Thread

Never realized how broken chun was until I played a good one. Definitely in need of some nerfs, most likely changing her lighting legs inputs to mashing again. In addition like most of the top tiers shes too safe.

I don’t know what Capcom were thinking changing the input, at least you knew back in SF4 Chun earned it, rather than she mashed it out. sigh

Broken how? And changing the input would do what to fix that? Serious question, as I’m just not seeing it.

The reason they took it out is so that she could launch combo. I want it back in so you cant mash launch combos with her and require more precise timing. L M H H H could lead to lighting legs so you actually need to time shit if it was back to mashing.

I have no idea I was throwing something out there. We dont have to change the input I just want her to require skill to use properly. Its what I want for the whole game really, no free wins. In reality its the fact that she cant be punished for a ton of things she should be punished for (H hazanshu, Kakusenshu, Tenkukyaku, kakouken from point blank). Another reason is that her old charge moves are no longer charge moves which totally is a buff for her. Give her speed gems and its stupid how safe everything is. Shes being heavily slept on and has a lot of good tools no ones uses. Also this is a ranting thread. No theory fighter anymore for me here. I’ll do that in the other threads.

Oh god. I lost a match SO HARD when I gave up Juri corner pressure because I thought I would finish a combo with my SFXT jump loop.

And then when I had a free crumple I inputted her Ultra as QCB + 3K.

Forget market saturation, I can’t play multiple games because I can’t beat the OP final boss called “being stupid.”

Don’t take any of this to seriously, this is just shit I need to get off my chest

Ryu rant
-Ryu is a hopelessly broken EZ mode character used by just about every scrub on xbox live and their AIDS infected turtle.
-does way to much damage for too little effort.
-way to much priority (all though this could be lag)
-Great normals and completly unneccesary air special
-bullshit projectile inveisiblity on tatsu.
lag just agrees with him.
Ken rant
-insufferable smug overused bastard. especially when paired with ryu.
-bullshit air tatsu

Other characters
-Raven: nobody in street fighter should ever have an air projectile that travels straight.
-Rolento: fuck this guy
-Mishimas: do to much damage for people that are so hard to block.
-Hugo: That air throw needs to fucking go
-Law: fuck this dude also
-Yoshimitsu: What the fuck happened to this poor guy? did the programers just give up?

Gems rant
-assist gems are a dumb idea for stupid people and should be banned after 2000bp
-Zangief plus easy commands and auto block gems makes me cry at night.

Other
-matchmaking somehow got worse than vanilla SF4
-having to download the on-disc colours for free is just dumb.
-option to turn off auto combos is sorely fucking needed.
-truly laughable bugs.

My rant is I have not played this game in 2 month and It look like nothing have changed. No point going back on with my god team Chun/Ryu…

From the Now Closed Upcoming July DLC Thread

I agree with the underlined opinion. My theory as to the sought after DLC, is that the executives are “cockblocking” the employees who actually have a desire to improve the game instead of devolving it further into the mires of mediocrity.
While this is a CAPCOM game, they could have easily taken a page from the Tekken series & made colors & costumes unlockable, or even purchasable in an in-game store, giving people a reason to mess with arcade mode.
Having lower-than-desired sales and a great deal of negative press regarding the game, one would think it would behoove CAPCOM to release costume swaps, colors and DLC at reduced prices, (as well as fix the glitches still present & balancing) thus encouraging people to buy the game.
I definitely agree on the Quick Combo issue, AcidGlow. I’ve never seen anyone use one, nor have there been talk/posts regarding their actual usage and optimization on SRK, much less Unity. It seems that CAPCOM is so sure of themselves, that they know there are enough uber-fanboys(no offense, I’ve been playing CAPCOM games since SF2 & before, but I vehemently disagree with their business decisions in the last decade.) that they can just throw out whatever DLC they wish & still retain an audience to buy later, more relevant DLC.
What are they gaining by waiting to release colors? Gems & QC are, imo, wasted mechanics, whose effort to develop could have been spent towards balancing, QA testing to remove glitches and other more important content, such as other DLC characters for later release (after the Vita character roster; Yun, Yang, Kunimitsu & Ganryu are seen in the backgrounds of stages…)
The whole GEM issue is redundantly absurd to me. You introduce a mechanic that was never a part of SF, (it was MSH where gems first appeared [of course I may be wrong]) nor TEKKEN, & most likely won’t be reproduced in future SF or TEKKEN games (outside of perhaps T x SF). For what? So that mirror matches are more robust? That new players can hang with “veterans”? o_O You give us this costume alteration mode, but the gems ruin it aesthetically.
Replay analyzer is incredibly underdeveloped. Especially when you consider the AE version is quite useful. This analyzer is 99% garbage, imo. Another effort squandered which would be better utilized elsewhere.
I do enjoy playing the game that they released, yet it has far too many glaring negative issues for a “history-making” collaboration between arguably the top 2 FG producers. Not as disappointing as SSV for Original XBOX (I still cringe when thinking of that port :wtf: …), but definitely in the same vein of disappointment.
Okay, rant over, pardon my wordy vocab. :wgrin:

i don’t have this game, but i want to rant about how ALL the SF characters are exactly the same as they were in SSFIV!
some of the tekken characters look cool, though. might be cool to get when it’s like $10.

This isn’t really a rant but Husteen’s post did make me think about this, I’m really playing this game for the tekken characters, The SF characters are fine and everything, but everything looks and feels a lot cooler with the tekken characters. Perhaps I can’t get over the fact that I still REALLY like the artstyle or that I just like the way the Tekken chains feel as opposed to Sf links.

The only real rant is, why Pandora comes out when you input Cross Assault. This is a major flaw.

Same here, they just fell fresher. My friends and I also observed in our small gaming group that those of us who started playing only Tekken characters from the start were far ahead of those who started with and still play SF characters. Many of these SF starters played the game like SF4 in the beginning and simply could not completely detach from this playstyle. These players are trapped in between two games and don´t show any great improvement over time.

I´m not trying to generalize everyone who prefers SF characters, these are just my observations based on the guys I play with.

I agree. The Tekken characters are challenging to use, as they are 2-D. In essence we are either learning a new version of the characters OR learning these characters for the first time. More of a challenge and fun. I must use Guy & Bryan when they drop, and Dudley & Cody are in my sights, along with Elena.

I swear if I see another A or A+ start empty jumping into low short when they are losing online I’m going to strangle them personally (its impossible to block on reaction online).

I’ll be honest, I’ve seen a lot of SF only teams, and a lot of those people still play the game like SF4. Especially RYUS! I feel people need to embrace this new system and explore it properly, instead of thinking that these SF4 combos or playstyle will help them improve. (EG, Ryus who keep on comboing into sweep, or not spending the bar for an EX Joudan.)

At the moment I am still playing SF characters, but I was more excited to play as Rolento and Poison, because they weren’t in Street Fighter 4 and I am disappointed that Elena is going to be a DLC character. Still trying to get used to Tekken characters, played a few matches with Asuka, Julia and Jin, but I found them to be difficult to use in online matches. Will be trying out someone else like Heihachi, Hwoarang, Nina and Bryan when he gets released (I hope he is a good character, because I want to play as Juri/Bryan a.k.a. Team Cyber Psycho)

Hey. That’s my team dammit!

Do an early jump in so it whiffs and *then *low short, even better.

The smile that Ogre gives me during the loading screen makes me feel uncomfortable. :frowning:

Has nobody recorded day 1 SFxT? I hope so.

Is this what it feels like to be an anime player?
