While backdashing does indeed work against such a aggravating tactic, ever tried doing that against jab pressure in the corner…

To be honest though, I don’t encounter many people that do use it, but when they do, it’s always in the corner, :’(
I think alot of people are unaware of a few things he can do, namely just how fast his teleport actually recovers, how good his backdash is, and the fact that he can cancel his Shuriken into the teleport.
These are some of his most bullshit tools, but they aren’t immediately obvious.
Mwahahaha! He also gets some decent mixups off his dash cancel, his lp shuriken gives him enough frame advantage to link a cr.mk in the corner for more shurikens or what have you, some decent normals cr.mk being his craziest because i’ve hit people with the very tippy toe of it.
His negatives are not having an easy AA normal, his are spacing and timing dependant. Also his only decent wakeup reversal is teleport but EX Windcross or his super can catch people throwing out normals on wakeup. Windcross and super also can go under projectiles. He also doesnt have a straight up overhead move, his mk Alter Ego (kick move) is pretty quick but unsafe and has a pretty long start up, and his back+mk, mk target combo is hard to trick the opponent with and neither really leads into more damage like a lot of the Tekken cast.
I personally like Raven, not just using him because he’s strong. I used him when Tekken 5 came out and it feels good to actually be able to win with him lol. I had a friend who used Nina and she was bullshit strong in 5, so I rarely won with him back then. I also like his zoning game because its the first “street fighter” style character with a horizontal projectile in the air. I assume people get the same feeling using King in KoF or Liu Kang in MK (he could throw fireballs in the air right?)
Even in corner, backdashing will free you for a couple frames so take advantage.

Back dashing still leaves you open after the invincibility, it isn’t a scapegoat for everything.
I am cornered because my character ended up moving to far left or right side during gameplay.
Roll? Implying I was knocked down? Even so, it’s too predictable, in some cases I don’t roll and the opponent jumps back predicting it, so that usually gets me out by their own decision, I think rolling is worse than just getting up.

True, but during that kind of pressure, either alpha countering or back dashing is your only option, and alpha countering online is a challenge in itself.
Take advantage of what? if you back dash in the corner, you will get hit if you back dash in the corner, and who back dashes in the corner anyway, lol.
Rolls become much more predictable when you are in the corner, yes. Since your first instinct is to get yourself out of the corner, you’d expect them to roll, and even if they don’t you are still in the corner

Wow, never thought of that. I usually have to wait till they get bored and try to throw me, then I can tech and push them back. Or they normally will try to jump over your head you can just block and dragon punch them. I’m going to try this tonight I probably can launch with low medium kick after a dash, julia has a really good back dash.
While your on a hot spree how do I stop B+ A and A+ using ken from floating across the screen like fairies? The entire fight goes something like this…

My only rant so far really…is I really wish the game’s match up system would follow my search specifications…
I am a low C+…I do not wish to face B’s and above, while fighting better players is a learning experience, there is only so much I can learn from an arse kicking and me getting salty.
Stop ken tatsu like you would any jump attack but to block crossup tarsus you have to block low.
That’s all i know for now. I can’t help much because I’m only a c plus myself.

So true, so very very true. I kept it on SAME yet I’m still fighting A & B’s, then I switch it to any and then I get lumped in with D’s who I can probably just anti-air to death.
